As timid and as jumpy as she’d become, Mina didn’t even flinch at Kai swung his hand at her. She let it happen but was surprised when the ninja gave her a gentle touch. She let him speak, gave him his chance to say what he needed to say. After all, the girl had opened her heart out to him so it was only fair to let him do the same. Mina was silent once he was done, allowing his words to have a respectful amount of silence follow them. The two of them stood in the darkness, just barely able to truly see each other within the shadows.

“I can’t blame my teammates for not restraining my power, because it was never their responsibility to do so.” When Mina spoke her voice came out quiet, as she thought about the weight of each word carefully. “When you cultivate your power, it’s on you to control it. Blaming others for your own folly is irresponsible.” Mina took a step forward, this time asserting herself into Kai’s space. She couldn’t quite see his eyes, but his voice gave it away: he was crying. He had a kind heart, if his passion for sticking his nose in her business was anything to go off of. “Kai, it’s easy to talk about the potential of my flame versus the harm it can do when you weren’t there.” Mina’s tone came out calm, as if she were repeating facts that she’d read from a book. It lacked anything accusatory or any biting remarks. The girl was speaking from her heart, pure and simple. “You didn’t see the fear on their faces, all scrambling to run away from the monster annihilating their home. You didn’t hear the screams as families were ripped apart from each other in the stampede, or the crackle of their bodies as they burned to nothing but ash. You didn’t have your own team look at you like you were the monster under their bed their whole lives."

Mina took in a slow breath in an attempt to stay calm despite the flashes of memory that rushed up. But even as she did, her fists were still trembling. The girl was struggling with herself as she spoke. All Mina had ever wanted was to be a shinobi, to project her home and make her mother proud. So wrestled with this lifelong desire and her own consciousness. She desperately wanted to say that she would come back and try to return to shinobi life. But her guilt weighed in her mind like a ball and chain. It held her words in her throat before she could say them, forcing them to choke and die. “So how long until I become a ghost, Kai? The answer to that is simple.” The girl looked the shinobi in the eye, her expression blank even despite the tiny spark that lived in her eyes. “Minashiba died on that day, buried under the mountain of corpses she created.”

Combat Passives

Battlefield Presence → The user's powerful presence on the battlefield strikes terror into their foes. Opponents are able to sense the user's terrifying fighting spirit five feet from the user per body rank of the user through chakra sense. Those within range can have this radiating fearful aura become the trigger for genjutsu, allowing genjutsu to be cast by acknowledging the user. In addition, should an opponent be targeted by a melee technique that is greater in rank than the target's body rank that target has tier two paralysis applied to their legs, requiring it to be broken by Kai equal to the user's body rank, costing the target no action for that specific instance of kai.

Master of Deception → With genjutsu, realism and the sensory ability of the target factor heavily into the ability of the victim to realize they are in a genjutsu. The illusionist chooses [1] Sense of Specialization that will render a genjutsu cost [1] rank less if the casted genjutsu's primary sense is their specialization. Genjutsu that use the illusionist's Sense of Specialization as the primary sense become resistant to the sensory powers of sages and non-Infinite Perception discipline scholars. This resistance means that the genjutsu will go unnoticed from these abilities. Since the illusionist has become so adept in their Sense of Specialization they may always weave it into genjutsu as an Additional Sense unless it would bring the illusion's sensory control above the [5] limit. The illusionist may also always select any Additional Sense that is not their Sense of Specialization to add to a genjutsu as long as it does not exceed the cap of [5] manipulated senses.

Sense of Specialization: Touch


Erudite Academic → You compromise on excelling at one to be proficient in both sealing and sensory. The Academic's body is considered a scroll so seals can be used and stored on your direct body. Your body may be treated as three scrolls equal to their body rank. If you are double class and have a second discipline from this class then you may add the five slots to your mirrored amount of ninjutsu, using these techniques for ninjutsu, sealing and sensory. Fuuinjutsu and sensory skills do not require handseals and are one rank less in chakra cost (Following the one rank max reduction rules) All three of your actions can be used on fuuinjutsu and/or sensory for one post every three posts in combat. In addition, the duration of all sealing techniques and all sensory techniques are increased by two posts. Finally, Erudite Academic Ninja have the ability to Korabo their fuuinjutsu and sensory for 1 action with varying cooldowns depending on the rank of the techniques.

If this overpowers the opponents technique, this technique continues on it's path normally.

▱▰▱ Martial Magnetism | After establishing direct physical contact and using the Magnetizing Technique on an enemy, the magnetic attraction between the Jiton user and the enemy becomes so strong that the enemy's agility is reduced by [1] point per body rank of the user for a maximum reduction of [6] points at S+ rank. Physical contact can include using a melee weapon.

• Flames of Strength | This flame burns hotter than other traditional flames. The user's flames have the ability to create concussive blasts that either throw targets five feet per rank of the technique or can propel the user five feet per rank of the technique.
• Flames of Entropy | This flame has the ability to deteriorate certain objects and materials it interacts with, causing them to crumble away while not actually burning targets. Ninjutsu lesser in rank and chakra composition than the user's effected technique are disintegrated and allow for the flames to continue by paying an additional difference between techniques to retain strength. Objects which include weapons and armor not containing chakra may be disintegrated by flames equal to that weapon's rank.
• Flames of Conductivity | The user's flame techniques gain the ability to 'conduct' through one successfully stricken target and strike at another target for no extra cost by lowering the technique's strength by one rank. Alternatively, the flame can be enhanced with an activation and paying the difference in ranks for the technique to remain the same strength.

• The user's fire based techniques are highly pressurized, doubling in size and range while adding a knock back effect of five feet per rank of the parent technique. If the parent technique already produces a knock back effect the user's fire technique gives a knock back of ten feet per rank.

• Genjutsu Class Ninja can add a single sense to the illusory images produced by this style, treating them as instance genjutsu.

• Practitioners are able to use basic combat physical strikes with knife hands, changing their blunt damage causing attacks to inflict damage akin to bladed weapons.

• When in combat with a foe using Taijutsu or Bukijutsu, the user can use [Concentration] without consuming an activation to do so.
• Those that are practitioners of this style may have their [Concentration] apply to the users [Strength] and [Endurance]


• All techniques of this style cause tiered paralysis to the limb contact is made with. Body or head shots result in total body paralysis. (Mach Fist)

After countless hours of practicing skills that utilize chakra pathways, the user is capable of leaving phantasms of their own body at the end of every phantom slayer technique they perform for no additional cost. These are considered E rank phantasms, effecting only sight.

▰ Manipulating Line | Rank B | Training
After casting Retrieval, the user is able to tack on the additional chakra to the same activation of Retrieval. Instead of calling these weapons back to the user, they are able to be manipulated by the chakra threads they are attached to in a similar manner to puppet strings.The chakra threads attached to the weapons remain active for three posts and techniques can be executed from the Manipulating Line technique as though thrown by the user if desired.

▰ Shuriken Hunter | Rank S | Training
The user's scavenging skills ensure that they are always able to find new shuriken lying about and retrieve their used weapons. This ensures they never carry less than 200 small projectile weapons.

▰ Undertow | Rank D | Training
This training focuses on using movement when you attack, carrying that much more force. After this skill is trained, any attack that follows a dodge or evasive technique is treated as a counterattack, and the user's total bonus to agility can be attributed to the strength of the next attack. When this ability is performed it cannot be used the following post.

▰ Repeating Wave | Rank B | Training
The user's training has focused on their agility ability to strike while avoiding harm. Once every three posts, the user may utilize an offensive technique that targets a specific part of the target's body that would disrupt their attack. This offensive attack deals damage regularly but allows the user to use their remaining activations as offensive as well.

▰ Kyotoryuu Conditioning: Sunflower | Rank S | Training
As a result of intensive training geared toward defensive and evasive maneuvers, the Kyotouryuu practitioner can now effectively react to an opponent by converting their speed into an agility boost for two posts with a three post cooldown. This requires no activation or resource cost.

▰ Double Fissure | Rank C | Training
The user is able to perform a very fast 2-hit combination with any physical strikes from this style without consuming an additional activation. The second technique must be executed at or below the rank of the first.

▰ Moving Fissure | Rank A | Training
By using a quick twist of the hips, the user can change the momentum of a kick that has been executed in order to change it's direction completely. Doing so requires half the cost of the technique be paid and the newly directed attack gains an additional [1] point increase to speed per rank of the technique. This ability may only be used once every three posts.

▰ Heavy Punch | Rank E | Training
The basis of the style, punch hard, punch first. The user is able to spend stamina in order to increase the strength of their punches for no activation. For each rank applied, a [1] point increase to strength is conferred.

▰ Cicada Shell | Rank B | Training
After learning the Shadow Clone Technique from the maruton list, the user may cast the Shadow Clone technique in conjunction with techniques from this style to replace mirror images with the clones. Casting Shadow Clones in this manner does not consume an activation.

▰ Multi-Mirror Image Training | Rank A | Training
The user has learned to control their chakra in a fine manner which allows them to create an additional mirror image per rank of the technique it is executed with. These additional images do not increase the strength of the parent technique.

▰ Elemental Doubling | Rank C | Training
The user does a single post of training where they practice combining their techniques with more than a single element. Once completed, all techniques are able to carry two elemental properties. This does not allow for Elemental Bloodlines to be used in this manner.

▰ Combining Elemental Training | Rank A | Training
The user does a single post of training where they practice combining their techniques with their elemental bloodline affinity, allowing them to combine the techniques of this style with their bloodline properties, including statuses inflicted by said bloodlines.

▰ Live Fire Exercise | Rank B | Training
All striking techniques executed by the user double the decreases inflicted upon targets when impacted.


▰ Gunslinger | Rank S | Training
The user has always sacrificed range for power, all up until now. By making their physical punching techniques complex, the user can send dense chakra orbs from their fists to extend their impacting range as well as allowing them to now "punch" ninjutsu. The strikes are now counted as spiritual when interacting with other techniques and carry the user's full stat increases of simple techniques. These chakra orbs range ten feet per rank of the parent technique.

▰ Four Limb Training | Rank B | Training
Allows the practitioner to substitute feet for hands in any Taijutsu technique when learned, and vice-versa. Techniques function the same, regardless of how useful the result may be. Training is typically completed either through meditation or repetition of physical training.
▰ Perfecting Balance | Rank C | Training
Due to their various training requiring parkour style actions, the user is more stable. This training allows the user to withstand off balancing effects or knock back effects as though they were one rank lower in strength.
▰ Parkour Mastery | Rank A | Training
The user becomes one with their momentum, learning how to harness their body as an almost perfect machine. After completing this training, the user’s agility gain any and all bonuses afforded to their speed.

                      The cornerstone to set the ideal scene for the performer, this ability changes the entire thread it is used in, as prevents any other jutsu at the rank this was used at below from altering the thread once it has been laid. Similar to a keystone, this ability takes three effects of the user's choice to allow to the story. This could mean something like creating a swamp and then having that swamp has sticky properties to those that travel through it, requiring chakra paid to free oneself, whatever is desired. While being used this way, these effects may be korabo'd into the user's performance korabo for free, creating a three-way korabo between the jutsu.

                      A technique where chakra kneaded inside the body is converted into fire, and then expelled from the mouth in an eighty foot massive stream of intense flames that expands in a conical manner while igniting the lands it touches in a sea of flames. Ignited lands burn outward from their origin forty feet. Should the flames reach chakra based vegetation that it overpowers, the flames are spread an additional ten feet per rank of the technique consumed.

“Are you crazy?!” Mina yelled. He was going to fight her?! There’s no way; he could die if she let her flame loose. Kai had to be bluffing, she was sure of-

Kai unleashed the wave of fire at her in an instant. Mina’s body moved quickly as time seemed to slow down for her. She could see the path the flame traveled, picking up on the flow of the inferno and the gaps between the embers. Mina ducked and weaved through those gaps, each movement leaving a ghostly illusion of her body behind her. [After Image A Rank>S+ Complex] As she closed the distance to Kai, Mina rose up in front of him and swung her shin into his leg [Round Fissure D>S+ Simple] before stepping into his space and following with a cross cut punch to his chest with a burst of force! [Backhand Strike D>S+ Simple] “What makes you think I agree to those terms?!” Mina continued to yell, jabbing her finger at Kai. “Of all the bull headed, stubborn, nonsensical-Fine!” Mina rolled her sleeves up past her elbows and fell into a fighting stance, a simple one with her face guarded. “Let’s go!”

The lightning wolf rushed at Mina, and it wall she could do to dodge the jutsu. She took a hopping step back as the wolf went to strike, hitting the ground and unleashing tendrils of lightning along the ground. The two of them continued to do that dance, each time the wolf missed, the area it hit would erupt into bright sparks. [Sidestep B>S Complex] Once Mina had finally evaded the lightning wolf, she’d rush down Kai. Running low to the ground at highspeeds, the girl would jump up at the last moment, rearing her fist back to strike the Uchiha. But as soon as he conjured his armor of lightning, Mina allowed herself to fall right to the ground, missing her punch.

She acted quickly, as she’d landed literally inches from Kai. Mina was caught up in the combat now, thinking only of how to get him to stop fighting. The redhead was so zoned in that she didn’t notice that her own chakra seal was beginning to weaken, and more of her restrained power was leaking out. Mina ran through quick seals as she rose from her crouching position, focusing chakra into her other palm, resulting in a blinding amount of red electricity crackling in her hand. As the attack chirped like thousands of birds, Mina thrust the Raikiri at Kai in an attempt to subdue his armor. [Raikiri S Rank Spiritual] Hit, dodged, or blocked, Mina would follow up by stepping forward once and spinning, slamming the opposite hand as a backfist into Kai. [Iron Backhand A>S+ Complex]

The illusionist chooses [1] Sense of Specialization that will render a genjutsu cost [1] rank less if the casted genjutsu's primary sense is their specialization. Genjutsu that use the illusionist's Sense of Specialization as the primary sense become resistant to the sensory powers of sages and non-Infinite Perception discipline scholars. This resistance means that the genjutsu will go unnoticed from these abilities. Since the illusionist has become so adept in their Sense of Specialization they may always weave it into genjutsu as an Additional Sense unless it would bring the illusion's sensory control above the [5] limit. Her attack was just a bit stronger than the wolf, however, but contact with his body was met with the lightning armor. Electricity erupted between the two of them. "You're not a bad martial artist but I'm not going to stop until you bring out the fire. That's the only way this ends, Minashiba, don't leave me waiting."

                      He took a few steps back for more distance before he started performing to tie his katon techniques together. A large amount of voltage shot up Mina’s body, causing her to cry out in pain against her will. The girl was knocked back, smoke and the smell of burning hair and skin flowing from her limb. As the redhead gripped her arm she could tell it was numb, only noticing because she knew she was gripping it with her other hand. Mina fell to one knee and brought her attention to Kai as he spoke. Why? Why did he want this so badly? Why did he want this from her of all people? It didn’t make any sense! What did Kai get out of trying to push her so much? By forcing her to compromise on her penitence?

There wasn’t much time to contemplate the hows, and the wats, and whys. Sweat dripped from Mina’s brow, both from exhaustion and from fear as she began to feel a sensation all too familiar to her. The air around her was getting colder, as all of the heat was being drawn into Kai as he molded his chakra. Mina knew what was coming and she had to act fast, faster than her numb limbs would let her. The red headed woman did her best to struggle through her own signs as Kai effortlessly rapped. She barely had enough time to slam her palms to the ground just as the intense flames exploded from the shinobi’s mouth. Walls of rock and dirt shot up around Mina, encapsulating her in a rectangular tunnel to shield her from the flames. [Earth Corridor Rank S Spiritual] While it protected her from the flames immediately devouring her, the corridor still acted as a large kiln, trapping the heat from the flames that still caused Mina to become awash with fatigue. That was only temporary, however.

The strength of the flames burst through the wall, creating a minor explosion that sent stone shrapnel and Mina flying into the adjacent wall. As the girl hit the stone, and was hit by smaller stones, the only noise that escaped her was a short cough. Mina bounced off of the wall, staring up at Kai with her emerald green eyes as she was barely staying on her feet. She was dirty, bloody, and exhausted but still Mina hadn’t fallen yet. Once she recomposed herself, Mina moved forward at the highest speed she could muster and launched herself into the air over Kai! As she came down, Mina slammed her leg out, coming crashing down with an earth shattering kick. [Bruising Sky Leg S+ Complex]

Master of Deception → With genjutsu, realism and the sensory ability of the target factor heavily into the ability of the victim to realize they are in a genjutsu. The illusionist chooses [1] Sense of Specialization that will render a genjutsu cost [1] rank less if the casted genjutsu's primary sense is their specialization. Genjutsu that use the illusionist's Sense of Specialization as the primary sense become resistant to the sensory powers of sages and non-Infinite Perception discipline scholars. This resistance means that the genjutsu will go unnoticed from these abilities. Since the illusionist has become so adept in their Sense of Specialization they may always weave it into genjutsu as an Additional Sense unless it would bring the illusion's sensory control above the [5] limit. The illusionist may also always select any Additional Sense that is not their Sense of Specialization to add to a genjutsu as long as it does not exceed the cap of [5] manipulated senses.

Erudite Academic → You compromise on excelling at one to be proficient in both sealing and sensory. The Academic's body is considered a scroll so seals can be used and stored on your direct body. Your body may be treated as three scrolls equal to their body rank. If you are double class and have a second discipline from this class then you may add the five slots to your mirrored amount of ninjutsu, using these techniques for ninjutsu, sealing and sensory.                       Kai had expected her strategy to change, but instead, she took the brunt of the paralysis. She tried to protect herself from his fire with an earth jutsu and it wasn't enough. She was so, so stubborn and he could tell she was willing to take an even greater beating to avoid bringing her fire back. It broke his heart, that she would punish herself so greatly; that, if he had been an enemy combatant, she would accept death - though not without the same fight she was putting up now - in lieu of releasing her fire prowess. Like he had said earlier, she was promising to fight with her arms tied behind her back as a shinobi because her team had failed her. He couldn't be another person to fail her. He just couldn't.

                      He released his lightning armor so she wouldn't be fried, and instead jumped out of the way [ unnamed dodge | S+ ]. He misjudged it a bit and her foot cuffed his shoulder just a bit - not enough to throw him to the ground, but enough to make him stumble as he got out of the way and enough to leave him with what would certainly be a giant bruise on his shoulder. In fact, he might have a fractured collarbone, but he couldn't dedicate the time to check right now. "I understand that you're afraid, Mina, but I'm not going to be another person that gives up on you. I don't care how long it takes. I don't care how much we have to fight, I'll take it. And if you get to a point where you can't go on, I'll heal you, and if I get to a point where I can't go on, I'll heal myself. But I'm not walking away from you."

                      His saving grace against Mina's taijutsu moves so far had been his one tomoe, offering him a slight boost in agility and giving him the ability to detect her shifts in muscle, a very minor telegraphing tell to begin with when it came to such a talented fighter as herself. He was exhausted from the chakra drain of trying to attack her; she seemed to be holding onto her resources far better than him, though she had taken more of a physical beating so far. He didn't have much longer in this fight but he stood by his words - he was not giving up. He had one final strategy. He blew a gust of wind into his hand and swung it like a sword [ ▰ Heavenly Breath from the Mountains [ Yama kara no ten no iki ] | Rank S+ ].                       Breathing into the palm of their hand, the user swings outward in a manner similar to a sword thrust. What follows is what is considered the most powerful futon jutsu in existence. A seemingly never-ending gale, summoned from the tallest peaks in the world, travels outward in a cone shaped blast spanning over a five hundred feet in length and reaching a maximum width of two hundred feet wide and it’s tail end. The power of this jutsu is such that it channels throughout the user’s entire post, meaning that it can be the only attack activation used. However, because of this it’s strength does not diminish immediately. Instead it is only weakened, first dealing it’s damage as S+, then again as S, and then one final time as an A ranked jutsu. At any time after it’s use it may be canceled and it is possible to move during it’s channel time, or use evasive based techniques as long as they are fuuton release. Each stage of this jutsu gains it's counterbalancing and elemental strengths/weaknesses.

They say that whenever the gods decide a moment is crucial to someone’s life, they slow down time for that person to truly admire the handiwork of the divine. Mina was never a really big believer in the heavens. It wasn’t ever something she’d thought about. But as Kai started to form his signs, and chakra started to whip up a tornado around him, the entire world seemed to be moving sluggishly. The Uchiha swung the sword sized gale at the red head, all she could do was watch the winds around Kai increased in force.

Despite her increased perception, Mina wasn’t afforded the same physical reactions. Her body felt stiff as half of her body was numb from paralysis. Her mind too, which usually was quick thinking, was struggling to come up with a solution to the problem that lay before her. She couldn’t dodge, not with how tired she was. Blocking was out of the question. Any lightning technique would get torn to ribbons by the wind, and she couldn’t use both of her arms for earth jutsus. As the girl stood there with the twisting winds rushing her down, she came to realize just how back into a corner she was. She could feel her chakra reserves, sealed deep within herself, pushing against the barriers she’d set. Like an inescapable constant that Mina had to constantly struggle to contain, despite the inevitably of its escape. Even now the redhead winced, not in pain, but in the effort to keep her power locked away despite its protests.

Kai was really fighting, really trying, for her recovery. And it was clear that the Chunin was never, ever going to relent. So should she? It wouldn’t be the first time Mina had given up on something. Like her fire, the same flames that Kai wished to fan back into existence. Nothing but pitiful embers that the shinobi wished to return to a massive blaze… Mina had given up on them what felt like a lifetime ago Like how others had given up on her in the same passage of time. But Kai, for some reason or another, was here to stay…

Mina looked at Kai, her green eyes soft despite the challenging fight they’d been through. Despite the arguing and stubborn defiances. His desperation on his face made his age, his youth, much more apparent. Much in the same way it made her own in this moment, Mina supposed. “Promise?” She asked in a desparate whisper of Kai through clenched teeth as she struggled to keep the fire within her from raging out of control. On his response, the girl simply let go. All of it, every ounce of what the Uchiha was asking for. As the gale surged around her, Mina’s body lit up like a furnace. Crimson flames sparked into existence around her. Mina’s Seinaru Enjo fire enveloping her, not like an inferno, but like a flame on a candle; quiet and subdued and flowing in the wind rather than overpowering it. Despite its peaceful presence, it still managed to withstand the oncoming gale force winds easily, protecting Mina from even getting lifted from her feet with its ethereal presence. As the wind struck Mina it was absorbed by the flame, converting the storm into the cloak of Seinaru Enjo flame that protected Mina until the aura stood high above her as a swirling mass of fire. Once all of the wind was assimilated, and the flames fanned dozens of feet high, there was a quiet moment between Mina and Kai. “I hope you are ready.” She whispered, no longer visibly struggling, but a look of sadness washing over her face. “This… is my flame.” The moment that Mina was done talking, the pillar of fire crashed down in an instant. The embers that rose high into the sky fell into a wave of intense flame, washing forward towards the young Chunin as a crimson sea of glittering fire. This barrier can be maintained for four posts before vanishing unless impacted prior. Impact of any sort triggers the barrier's defense.

                      When Mina softly asked him to promise, he felt a fire ignite inside of him. It was one part victory, one part compassion, and one part something entirely different that he couldn't name. He nodded in the affirmative. "Free yourself." And so she did, and it was beautiful, and he was awestruck at her fire as it curled and danced around her and defended her from the flame. He didn't know how she managed to blame herself for something that looked soft- though when it started to come crashing down on him, he paused in his romanticizing.

                      He made a hand seal and an eruption of raiton overtook his body in the form of armor. It was a close thing, but Kai wasn't frightened. The flames and the lightning cannibalized each other until they eventually dispersed together, though her fire was so powerful that they did make contact with palm of his right hand, leaving small one degree burns where it ate through his protection. It was the easiest thing in the world to fix, one of the first injuries he learned to apply iryojutsu to, but he didn't. He wanted the small reminder of this for the next few days. The little ache, the little burn, it was a reminder of her.

                      And so the performance jutsu that set the stage around them dripped away. It left the two of them standing in the field at the academy. He took a deep breath, letting the silence hang serene between them, before he broke the silence. "So. How does it feel?" He came a little closer to her, though he didn't try to touch any of her flames. The warmth emanating from them from his distance of a few feet was pleasant. "I've never seen fire like yours, y'know, it's really... it's really something." And he looked at her and, at least for a moment, really saw her, though he also saw something or someone who wasn't there, some idolization of who she could be instead of who she was.

                      Breathing into the palm of their hand, the user swings outward in a manner similar to a sword thrust. What follows is what is considered the most powerful futon jutsu in existence. A seemingly never-ending gale, summoned from the tallest peaks in the world, travels outward in a cone shaped blast spanning over a five hundred feet in length and reaching a maximum width of two hundred feet wide and it’s tail end. The power of this jutsu is such that it channels throughout the user’s entire post, meaning that it can be the only attack activation used. However, because of this it’s strength does not diminish immediately. Instead it is only weakened, first dealing it’s damage as S+, then again as S, and then one final time as an A ranked jutsu. At any time after it’s use it may be canceled and it is possible to move during it’s channel time, or use evasive based techniques as long as they are fuuton release. Mina wasn’t sure how to answer Kai. She looked down at her hands, pretending to examine the flame as she gave herself extra time to think. To process. How did it feel? How did she feel? It was a fact that the girl ended up using her flame again. That Kai got what he wanted from her, and pushed her to overcome her barriers towards the first few steps of recovery. Mina knew she should feel grateful for his extra push, for the young man’s concern over her wellbeing.

But she just felt violated. Pushed out of her zone of comfort far, far too early. Granted, Mina didn’t know when the point would come that she’d feel truly ready to forgive herself, and she wasn’t sure if she truly did right now either. But her usage of fire didn’t feel… right. It didn’t come naturally, or certainly of her own accord. But by the pushing desire of someone else. Someone that she wouldn’t, or couldn’t, bear to disappoint. Not again, as Mina had disappointed too many at this point. The idea of failing, of not meeting someone’s expectations of her, pushed her out of her comfort zone against her will. Put another way, she was no less trapped than she’d been just moments ago.

Soon enough the time to answer Kai’s question was ever shortening. “It, uh, feels familiar, I guess?” Which was true enough, wielding her fire was as familiar as writing her name. “But it does feel like I’m a little out of practice… But yeah, it’s a fire very specific to me. I think I got it from-” A lump formed in her throat as she remembered her mother. Her birth mother, who put her through hell all those years ago. “From my mother.” Mina looked away as the flames dissipated in a small flash. The redhead was feeling a little uncomfortable, and far too vulnerable. She needed to change the subject. Mina looked at Kai and instantly noticed her out. “Hey, what’s up with your eyes? Have they always had two of those… uh, things?”

Master of Deception → With genjutsu, realism and the sensory ability of the target factor heavily into the ability of the victim to realize they are in a genjutsu. The illusionist chooses [1] Sense of Specialization that will render a genjutsu cost [1] rank less if the casted genjutsu's primary sense is their specialization. Genjutsu that use the illusionist's Sense of Specialization as the primary sense become resistant to the sensory powers of sages and non-Infinite Perception discipline scholars. This resistance means that the genjutsu will go unnoticed from these abilities. Since the illusionist has become so adept in their Sense of Specialization they may always weave it into genjutsu as an Additional Sense unless it would bring the illusion's sensory control above the [5] limit.                       Kai's brows furrowed at her question. He touched just under his eye, though they felt exactly the same. "Two of those things...?" He untied his shinobi headband and examined himself in the reflection, seeing two tomoe in his sharigans. "Oh. Oh!" He retied the headband but he was dancing from foot to foot as he did so. "That's great news! My sensei is gonna love to see it!" He beamed from ear to ear.

                      "Thank you, Mina. You totally helped me out, too!" And then he charged forward and wrapped his arms around her in a big bear hug. But from where they were standing he could still see the entrance to the fields of the academy, and he watched a rather familiar redhead walking around and things clicked in his head. "YOU!" He shouted as he released Mina, pointing out the offender who had been getting out of all of her spars lately. She saw him and very audibly said 'oh s**t' from across the field before darting back into the safety of the academy.

                      "Get back here!" He shouted as he started across the lawn. Before he made it into the academy, he turned over his head and waved at Mina. "Thanks Mina! I'll see you around sometime, alright? You can even have an autograph." He laughed and escaped into the academy after his troublesome student.
