The Jashinist was giving as good as she was getting. Chouka charged raiton chakra to her form as the Jashinist attacked, though her armor couldn't cover the entirety of the strength of the blow [ ▰ Lightning Armor [ Raiton no Yoroi ] | Rank S+ ]. Her armor decimated under the strike and she went flying backwards a few feet, landing on her a**. "What was that made of?" She growled out, frustration making her bare her teeth like the old Chouka. She scrambled back to her feet, face flushing at the embarrassment of being unable to tank a hit. She turned to watch her kage survive the attacks that were kicking her own a** and wished she could move like Usagi did.
And then Usagi got hit.
"TANIKAGE!" She raced over. "No, no, no, no," she kneeled beside the injured kage, eyes wide and mouth dropped. But the panic had taken over, and she was painfully frozen at the sight.
As the Kage took the assault of the orbs as well as defended her allies, Tabe couldn't help but laugh. "You were so confident before!" She shouted, both of her arms raising which prompted the giant beast titan soul to do the same. "See? Suicide Mission. Although you seem to have taken it a bit too literally." With the orbs colliding with the Tanikage, she would find one of her arms crushed under the force of the expanding ball and chunks of her body taken from her. It only served to excite Tabe more.
The responses of the others as well, they too would be answered in kind. The oncoming attack intent on erasing Tabe from existence, would have a large claw of the beast titan brought down upon it. Slashing through the combined attack of Koharu's orb with ease. "Yes, more, show it all. All of your anger, hatred, pain. You think you're some apostle of Evergreen? You our lord Jashin much more than you could imagine. He feeds off YOUR negativity, you think it mere coincidence two gods STRUGGLE against he?" Tabe claimed to Koharu, giving the girl a dose of what was a truth in Tabe's eyes. Perhaps something that was a truth in total.
In addition, almost immediately after the girl's other hand would slam down as well. Intent on stopping the oncoming attack of the little samurai boy, and lock him beneath the claw of the large beast titan to be held down against the ground. "You're cute, but you do the same thing over and over. Desperately and uselessly crashing into a wall over and over trying to show any semblance of worth. Do you even serve as a proper appetizer, a snack? Even cannon fodder has a use, what do you have?" She taunted the boy who continued to rush in towards her despite his actions having not worked the times he's tried already.
The girl who had been suddenly frozen in her place after her beloved Tanigkage's noble sacrifice was next. She need not do anything specifically to her. Her attacks had stopped, and so too did it seem the beast she fought alongside. "To fight alongside a beast, only for that beast and yourself to be mere hindrance to the only one here capable of standing on their own two feet. Must be sad, terrifying, to know and understand that YOU are the reason your Tanikage has ended up like this." Tabe's taunts tailored to each individual. She wasn't that smart of course, but she knew how to taunt people at the very least. A learned trick from her past. "Death will come to me when my Lord Jashin wills it to. Not when some feeble shinobi get worked up about their friends, try hard without giving up, or work alongside beasts to bolster themselves." The little girl laughed, and laughed, cackling as the beast titan spirit roared once more.

Usagi didn’t get hit often. She tried not to anyway, that s**t hurt. But her bloodlines were famously durable, so when she did she could usually shrug it off and keep going. But taking the Truth Seeking Orbs like she had was still enough to remove her consciousness from her body. The Kage’s world was black, and the sound of combat was far, far away. As if she was underwater, and everyone else was on land. Usagis thoughts felt like they were coming slower than usual, but each one was deliberate. It was what was keeping her from freaking out about the chunks of her body that were now missing. The blonde Senju wished she could regenerate, or be immortal like Tabe was. Then she wouldn’t need to worry about fighting. But as she was now? She couldn’t fight like this; it was frustrating.
Where’d that power even come from, anyway? Jashin? It couldn’t be so straightforward. There had to be some mechanical element to it, in theory. What was the part that locked the whole ritual together? The blood… the sigil… Usagi knew Jashinists didn’t need to be in the circle constantly for their immortality, but there had to be something to the religious iconography. If only she could reverse engineer it…
Usagis eyes shot open with her new revelation. The woman pushed her hands against the marble, falling back down due to her injuries. “Hey Chouka…” Usagi whispered tiredly, giving her Shinobi a weary smile. The woman finally slid to a kneeling position as she watched the battlefield. “Relax, it’s all a part of the plan. I’m going to end this b***h.”
“Hey! You blood drunk brat!” Usagi shakily rose to her feet as she yelled to Tabe. The woman rolled the shoulder of her good arm with a grunt as she hopped lightly. “You know you had me worried because of all that immortality BS. But I think I got you figured out!”
Usagi’s green eyes lit up with chakra and determination as she smirked at Tabe, despite her injuries. The woman clapped her hands together, generating a storm of orange chakra around her before she slammed her hands to the ground. Starting from her and extending the length of the room, a bright orange sigil formed along the flood of a large triangle with a circle in the middle. “I figured that your ritual is like one big Fuuinjutsu, that seals your soul to your body. And that’s why you can’t die.” Usagi placed her hand on her hip just as the seal she placed earlier activated. Orange chains erupted from the ground, writing like tentacles around Tabe from inside the sigil before wrapping around the girl. “So I figured ‘why not reverse it?’ It’s really simple, in theory.”
No-one else could see it, but standing behind Usagi was a ghostly apparition. A demonic ghost, with a flowing robe, grey-blue skin, and a small blade held between its elongated teeth. Usagi stood with the Reaper behind her, smirking confidently at Tabe before teleporting in front of the girl, reaching to grab her shoulders. “Let’s find out together, shall we?” She asked, as the Reaper reached into Tabe and began the process of extracting her soul. [Reaper Death Seal S+ Overwhelming]
▰ Reaper Death Seal [ Fuuinjutsu: Shiki Fuuin ] | Rank S+ While the instant death Reaper Death Seal has been lost to time, the members of the Uzumaki have their own version of the jutsu. While summoning the ghostly apparition of the God of Death, the Uzumaki will rush and grab their opponent at which point this jutsu will take affect. The God of Death will reach into the target and pull out a portion of their soul and cut it off from the rest of their soul. This results in the target losing the ability to use two of their limbs once they have been taken by the God of Death. This effect places the target under Tier 4 Hex, Tier 4 Burning, and Tier 4 Paralysis to the selected limbs. Removing this effect requires [8] posts of care from a Scholar class Ninja, or [5] from a Scholar Specialist. Once the God of Death is summoned, the Uzumaki has [3] posts before the jutsu ends, requiring an S rank amount of chakra per post in Upkeep. The cost of this technique, in addition to it's S+ amount of chakra, is the total depletion of the Uzumaki's Nature Chakra pool and immediately ends their Sage Mode.

The Jashinist's words were inescapable. Chouka looked at her bleeding kage and failed to dislodge the stone in her throat. She was working to enforce order in Tanigakure, but here she was with her broken kage in her hands because of her own failure. How could she protect the village if she couldn't protect one person? Usagi's whispered confidence pulled her from her reverie for a moment. Chouka was completely confused, but nodded along as if she was completely on board.
Usagi began to perform in more ways than one, as she was want to do, but the sparkles and fireworks of Usagi's weaving of words and fuuin fell into the background of Chouka's mind even as the Akimichi stared at her kage. She saw it without seeing, her mind filled with static despite the kage's reassurances. She had failed, hadn't she? Plan or not. She had relied on Min Min for strength and had still failed to land a single shot on the Jashinist, whereas her kage could defend herself as an individual much better than Chouka could defend her.
As Tabe spoke down to her, Koharu could feel a sense of indignation swelling in her chest until the revelation about negativity and it feeding their power. That was a truth she had not considered. It was like looking in the mirror and seeing what she could be as she stared angrily at the Jashinist. It was that realization of anger and intolerance that caused her Sage Mode to end abruptly. The aura shattered and she stood there stunned in that moment as the nature chakra left her. Was her doubt in her abilities the reason, or was Evergreen punishing her for letting Tabe get to her?
Even if Koharu did not want to admit it, she did not fight with a mind of one who would try to save a soul to the very end. No... she had used her very power in a pure display of intent to erase the girl on the grounds of her object of worship. "I can't save you, and if I keep trying to kill you... What makes us different? Why do you want to push me like this?! It's because it's your nature, isn't it? But if that's your nature...", she paused and sighed as Usagi's jutsu manifested a vision of the Shinigami.
If that's your nature, then what is mine?", it was a thought that flashed through her mind. Was it put there by Evergreen in response to the question she started? It felt like a series of dominos had begun to fall internally in response, and all of them were leading her to one hard fact. She was not as strong as she thought she was... physically and spiritually.
The young priestess wanted to understand what drove a person to these lengths when nothing but misery, death, and destruction were the result? But to argue philosophy with somebody in such a moment like this? No... but Tabe -did- say something that Koharu would have to do some research on. If two gods stood against Jashin, mayhap it would be prudent to seek the council of another grounded in that particular faith to see why two reject one. Thus far she had been under the misguided understanding that this was just a struggle between Life and Death; Natural and Unnatural; Love and Hate. If there were others out there who stood against the faith of Jashin, then there was a possibility they had a clue to help defeat them on the spiritual battleground.
'A taste of power and I let it go to my head, guess I should thank you for stopping me... I don't want to end up like you.', the young priestess thought as she watched Usagi's jutsu plan go into motion. She had faith in her leader's knowledge and skill, but she had to. There was no other choice, because if this failed, Koharu was out of answers. No, after this, if they all lived... it was time to go back to the mountain, and to retreat to the waterfall to seek divine council and understanding. As far as she'd come, there was still so much more to understand if she was to truly be the emissary she wanted to be.

Seiichi floundered as his best attack was brushed aside, the child's gigantic claw pinning him against the ground. During the scuffle, the force of her attack had managed to break his blade into multiple pieces, with the majority of them being slammed into his upper shoulder and torso. The hilt scattered across the way as his eyes widened in shock at seeing the cracked hilt to the weapon. The remnants of his late older brother's long tried blade now laid in pieces. The sight of this caused the samurai's heart to weep on seeing the end to such a relic of his family. "Augh! A-Ahhh...!" Seiichi grit his teeth, huffing as he felt the cold steel invade his body. It took a tremendous amount of effort to keep from screaming at the pain he was in. The shards embedded into his body would dig in deeper, blood seeping through his robes. Her words clearly hit a strong point, as he'd try to work his way out of her submission in some futile attempt at overpowering her grasp. "Sh-Shut up! Get off..." he snapped at the girl. While everyone did have their own attempts at launching attacks, Seiichi was the weakest chain in the link by far. The entire battle had been plagued by this fact, with his own doubts about his abilities here forced to the front of the room as they were all but confirmed by the opponent of the group.
With his ego and body battered and bruised, the young samurai would look over to the others to see how they were doing, only to then see the Tanikage still alive and jumping in front of the girl, attempting to attack her directly. While he wasn't too sure about what would happen, he knew that Usagi was likely the only one in the room who would be capable of standing a chance against this girl.
Modifiers: ▱▰▱ Book of Water | The user's complex sword strikes from styles as well as basic combat complex sword strikes can expel a thin five foot blade of water per rank of the technique that follows the path of the physical blade. In addition, the user gains access to 4 ninjutsu slots to be used for the Water Element only.
▱▰▱ Gift of Perception | The clan's naturally keen sense of smell is not always the gift granted to the clansmen. Occasionally, the clan members are gifted a different sense to be heightened, multiplying the natural abilities of that sense by ten. This allows hearing to pick up on even muscle contractions and friction inside the body. Smell now gives away gender, body rank, class and killing intent as well as it's previous tells. Sight grants visibility to micro-movements of muscle groups, sight spanning the entire topic within a straight line. Genjutsu effecting the heightened sense are able to be detected upon being casted, causing one tier less in mental stress.

Techniques of both Tetsunami Ryu and the clan techniques have the range of their water's reach increased by 5 feet per rank bud does not effect the strength of the technique when interacting with other techniques

The shinobi can pick a single weapon, the katana. They acquire a Keystone technique that is unique to them with an additional 2 Custom Techniques derived of this special ability. Refer to the Keystone Guideline for more information. They gain a [+1] boost to both speed and agility & techniques cost [5] less Chakra and/or Stamina per rank of the technique when wielding attacks with their specialized weapon in attack or defense. With a minimum of 5 chakra or stamina paid.
Tabe's words struck chords in them all it seemed. With that...well it merely meant it was time for the girl to claim her prize. A full course meal sat in front of her now and was ready for the taking. It is the best when a seed of doubt has been sown into them. Of course, it seemed the young girl thought too soon. The Tanikage spoke of figuring out her immortality. If that was true...then perhaps it was finally time. Perhaps her service was no longer needed by Jashin and this was the moment she would die and her soul would move on to become part of her lord. This excited her even more, a large smile on her face, Tabe stood still and allowed the chains from the kage to wrap around her. What was the worse that could happen? The Tanikage would what, fail to kill her and she would be disappointed? The disappointment was worth the risk in this situation. As Tabe had said before, she did not fear death. She welcomed it if it could be brought unto her, any Jashinist who didn't was no true Jashinist.
However, her excitement quickly died down. Tabe was not smart, she was a fighter sure. She knew how to make her way around a fight sure. She was observant absolutely, but smart enough to understand all this fuuinjutsu non-sense? By no means, however she could see it. The figure behind the Kage, some sort of spirit that looked virtually translucent. She could even tell the only reason she could see it was because of her eyes. Tabe would put forth the effort to break herself from the chains binding her but by that time it was too late. The apparition had is hand inside of her, and she could feel it. When she felt it she knew that she was right in her thoughts. This...this wasn't truly the form of death she wished for. This was the kind of being locked away forever death. She wouldn't be able to feel the grace of Jashin's presence with her death if she allowed this. Her hands would come together, a bright flash of cyan and crimson chakra would fill the room. Then suddenly a change, using her Tenseigan she had reverted the state of the room and it's inhabitants to the moment before Usagi had used the chains to entangle Tabe. They would all be well aware of the change, however now...Tabe was stuck anyways. She could not run, not faster than the kage could teleport. And she just used something she never thought she'd use as a last resort. If she was caught again by the Kage and the Apparition behind her next time. That was it, and the look on the little girls face spelled that out rather loud and clear.
Aaand, that's all for the fight. The next post that comes from Melody will be as Takumi/Usagi I assume, and that will signal the official end.
I hope that Koharu, Seiichi, and Min Min (but not Chouka) can work through everything in unique and interesting ways.

It was working! Usagi could feel the lock keeping Tabe’s soul in place eroding, just as her Reaper was beginning to pull out her spirit. The Kage smirked, baring her teeth confidently. Even if this killed her, Usagi took solace in the fact she could take down one of these monsters. Her grip on Tabe’s body tightened, refusing to let the child go, even for an instant. Not before the Reaper could do its job. But for all of her struggles, it wouldn’t be enough.
Tabe let out an intense wave of chakra and, in the blink of an eye, Usagi found herself back with her allies. Her head was spinning as she tried to make sense of what happened. Her sigil was gone, the destruction to the room had been repaired. The Tanikage tried to look around, half of her vision being impaired by blood dripping into her eye from a forehead wound. She reasoned, whatever it was, that Tabe had used some sort of last ditch defense. Did that mean her gamble had paid off? Usagi couldn’t think about it much more than that before she felt exhaustion wash over her, a result of her Nature Chakra running out. The Reaper spirit behind her faded as she stumbled in place, losing her balance with a wave of dizziness for a second. “Looks like I wasn’t too far off the mark, huh?” Usagi was panting. Despite the situation, however, she was still smirking. There was hope, after all, and she needed to cling to it instead of giving into the despair of her failure.
The look of fear on Tabe’s face was all that Usagi needed for her second wind. “What’s the problem? Cat got your tongue? You positively pale.” Usagi taunted, sticking out her own tongue. “What’s it like, by the way? To experience fear on the receiving end?” The young woman felt three pips of chakra disappear from another room and concluded it was three of the other cultists. “And you’re all alone now, too. And whatever technique you just used, I can’t imagine you can do it too many more times. Care to roll the dice against me, and see who can use their ace in the hole the most?” Usagi was bluffing: she doubted she could attempt the Soul Seal more than a few more times. But Tabe didn’t need to know that. And with the disappearance of the other Jashinists, Usagi was trying to capitalize on the girl’s shock. “Or you can leave with your friends, and live another day. The choice is yours.”
