"Dinner time~" Mina chimed out as she walked out of her cafe. The young woman was holding a series of small bowls, filled with cat food. Incidentally, the Jonin was surrounded by a small herd of cats, all voicing their hunger. "I know, I know, I'm sorry I'm late." Mina chuckled with an embarrassed smile on her face. She knew the cats didn't care about why she was late-they were starving, practically wasting away to nothing, of course. Don’t think too hard about how Mina made sure the strays were fed every day, even while she was away at the Summit.
As the cats ate, Mina rested back on her laurels. Crouching down, her hands hanging loosely over her knees, the young woman looked up at the sky wistfully. Konoha had been… quiet, lately. After the Summit, the Leaf village had been resting, licking its wounds from the Jashin attack. Mina assumed the other villages were doing the same. It was frustrating, sitting around waiting. “Tch…” Mina clicked her teeth, thinking back to the battle. She’d recovered the body of her mentor, Lahil, but the freak that killed her still managed to get away.
Mina was so lost in thought, that she wasn’t paying attention to her surroundings, allowing for a random visitor to catch her by surprise.
The Poisoner's mind was focused on one goal: acting as fate's hand. Since fate had claimed his brother, who didn't deserve a single bad day, he knew everyone was going to succumb to fate, too. Hatred and resentment filled him as he envisioned Yatagarasu, nature chakra flooding his body. He could see the faces of his squad in his mind's eye, but couldn't recollect their names in his current state. However, all of those images would be wiped from his mind as his eyes landed on a familiar face. He didn't know her name, but he knew she would burn like everyone else in his life.
He pulled his windmill shuriken out, coating the blades with his custom poison [ Fiercest Blades ]. Without warning, he threw the blade as hard as he could with an uneven chakra coating to make it move unpredictably [ Pinball Toss | Rank S+ | Complex ].

3. ▰ Pinball Toss | Rank S+ | Complex Throwing the shuriken after unevenly applying chakra to it, the user enables the shuriken to change direction as pre-determined by the time they toss it. The shuriken moves unpredictably (by the opponent's perspective) and negates the enemy's agility stat as such. This technique can be extended by two more posts by paying two ranks below its cost for upkeep [the windmill shuriken can still be attacked/disrupted directly which stops its movement].

The cats that had gathered around Mina hissed, arching up with their fur bristling. It recalled the young woman from her thoughts just in time to see a man. He looked odd, even for shinobi standards, but familiar also. Mina couldn’t place her finger on it, but the stranger didn’t give her much time to think about it. He tossed the oversized shuriken at her and Mina instinctively channeled chakra through her body, coating her in crimson electricity. The windmill shuriken rebounded off of the buildings randomly, with no way for Mina to predict its path. The best she could hope for was dealing with it at the last second. So as the shuriken finally got dangerously close to her, Mina jumped, flipping over the projectile. She threw a lightning clad arm down, sticking her hand in the grip of the shuriken. Using her flip, the redhead tossed the shuriken back at the man as she landed in a crouch. She would purposefully throw the shuriken back so he would be able to catch it. The group of cats all fled behind Mina as she rose to her feet. “Who are you?” She asked, staring the man down with her scowling emerald eyes. She tossed the shuriken back to him. He didn't bother to catch it, allowing it to sputter onto the ground. She took a new stance and spoke to him, but the words bounced right off. He was uninterested in the conversation. It would only prolong fate. He couldn't let her interrupt his mission, though she would also succumb to the flames.
He slammed his palms to the ground [ Summoning Jutsu | D ]. Akumu appeared and flew around the battlefield as The Poisoner considered his options. He made one hand sign, generating a sound wave that would deafen her [ Sound Wave Technique | A ]. Maybe then she would stop talking. He couldn't afford to let up, though. He needed her to burn, to meet her fate quickly. It was so much more merciful than the fate Taurin had suffered. If she refused the soft touch of his poison, fire would take her instead. “Fine, we’re doing this the hard way then.” Mina took the man’s stone silence as fuel to her fire. The feeling of Natural Chakra was palpable, dark and twisted, leaving a bitter taste on the young woman’s tongue. Mina would need to match it, and use something she hadn’t used in a long time. The Jonin stripped off her outerwear down to her tank top so the fluttering fabric wouldn’t get in the way of combat. As she did, the Curse Mark on her neck began to glow with an orange-red energy and the pattern for ‘fire’ spread across the left side of her body. [Activating: Boon of the Bakaneko] Mina felt the power of her gift wash over her and she did her best not to give in to it. To not succumb to the power drunk state that Curse Marks were known for.
Mina clapped her hands together, running through a series of seals just as fast as her assailant. The ground before her began to shake as she took in a breath. The very earth rose up into a tidal wave of mud and stone, just as Mina exhaled a powerful flame from her lungs. “Crows… and fire… and those red eyes...” Mina thought out loud as she hunkered down. She was beginning to suspect who her opponent was. But it didn’t make sense. Only one way to know for sure! Mina rushed forward and, as she moved, it would look as if she was splitting into Shadow Clones. All of the MIna’s would surround her attacker, moving erratically to throw him off. “If you’re not gonna talk-” A Mina formed behind the man, her fist cocked back and ready to strike.
“-then let’s start by taking off this mask!” The real Mina appeared in front of the target, and the Mina that was behind The Poisoner faded away. The woman grit her teeth and swung her fist straight up to the man’s jaw, releasing a wave of explosive chakra as she aimed to rip off his mask! The Poisoner's sharingan investigated all of the clones coming his way, but his mind was clouded and his performance was subpar. The real target came up close and they were matched in speed - his sage mode versus her curse mark made for an even match, though she had the upper hand for coming on the offense. Still, Akumu reacted to the Poisoner's defensive impulse and substituted with his sage, taking the punch and becoming un-summoned on impact [ Murder's Subterfuge ]. A few feet away now, the Poisoner wiped at his face; he realized, at that moment, that her fist had connected enough to knock it off while substituting, even though he didn't have to face the brunt of her attack.
His lip curled, though his clouded mind couldn't realize why it wasn't strategic for her to see his face. He didn't need a special appearance to be the hand of fate, nor did he need the gas mask to protect him from his own poisons. Still. She took from him, and that must have been her fate. Hers would be to suffer. "No need to talk." His voice was clipped, but his insistence was unyielding as he gripped his chin, aware of how naked his face was.
This was nothing like the talkative and fun Kai that had known her before he fell to Yatagarasu's flames. He tilted his head at her, looking her up and down with as much condescension as one could gather with dead eyes and a straight face. Then, he snapped his fingers at her, wanting her to feel a tenth of the pain he'd experienced when he was burned in amaterasu as birds watched her exploding limbs [ Exploding Death | Rank A | Overwhelming ]. [1.5] Way of the Crow: Unlike other summons whose effects is often palpable or easily witnessed, the crow’s is the way of subtle twisting of the opponent’s mind against them. Genjutsu that is cast and empowered with sage chakra does not only grant overwhelming, but allows the user to make use of crows as a medium that is present in all of their gen. This adds a sense of melancholy about their genjutsu that causes either mental stress or insanity (chosen upon entering sage mode) equivalent to the jutsu's rank. If already having a status effect then it's stage is increased by one, and if already stage four it instead lingers for a single post after kai stacking with the genjutsu discipline.

“Not so tough without your mask, are y-“ Mina snarled as her assailant was blown back. But she stopped as she could make out who it was. “Kai?” She breathed. The woman had an idea, but still. Seeing it was a shock that drowned away her battle spirit. “What are you doing?! This is crazy, even for you.” Kai had a reputation for surprise lessons on Mina, making sure she was top notch after her return to being a Shinobi. But never had he been so… stoic. Cold. This was different, and the Uchiha was clearly dangerous right now. She needed to take him down, but…
Minas clenched fist loosened. She had to try and reason with him. To bring him back. Kai never gave up on her, and she owed him the same compassion. But she knew he was just as stubborn as she was: Mina needed to find the specific way to get through to him, while staying alive to do so.
That was when he lifted up his hand. With a snap of his fingers, Mina felt the unbearable pain of her body exploding into flames. It was agonizing, forcing her to scream out as each molecule in her body exploded all at once. And then it was over, and the redhead Shinobi was on her knees. Panting, she looked up to see Kai snap his fingers again. This time she recognized it for the Genjutsu it was, but not before the loop played out again. Mina grit her teeth as her body disintegrated once again. Sweat fell from her brow as she returned whole again. Quickly, before the Genjutsu could snap his fingers again, Mina willed her chakra through her body with a sign. “K-Kai!” She yelled, both to dispel the illusion and to call out to her friend. Mina took a breath as she faced down the two Kais. As she exhaled, her Seinaru Enjo flame was breathed from her lungs. It slowly escaped her and wrapped around her body. Instantly the warmth calmed her down, and settled her shock from the Genjutsu. [Wisdom Blaze A Rank Overwhelming Entropy Flame]
“Kai, I don’t want to hurt you.” The Jonin thought about the time the two had spent together. Ice cream, training, listening to his rap lyrics while she was trying to work. “But.” Mina clenched her fists, tightening the grip of the gas mask Kai had been wearing. In her clutches, the mask dissolved into sparkling embers. “I can’t let you go any further. Someone very important to me told me that if I have the power to protect, then it’s my responsibility to do so. Both my village, and my friends.” Mina formed a handsign before bringing her fingers to her mouth. With chakra generated in her mouth, the woman created oil just as she breathed out. This oil mixed with the flames she created, breathing out an intensely hot inferno of sparkling, crimson flames at both Kais. Flames of Entropy: The target is not cured of Mental Stress. However, once they Kai from a Genjutsu, they are unable to be afflicted by another Genjutsu of the same Primary Sense for [2] posts.
Flames of Conductivity: Instead of picking one target, Mina is able to spread her flames across a 100 foot area. This reduces Mental Stress by [1] for all allies per post, and reduces the cost to Kai by [5] chakra per rank of the jutsu.

She summoned flames to right her mind from his illusion. Interesting. But the nightmare would only continue if she refused to succumb to his flames. He drew his large blade, charging it with amaterasu-black chakra and swinging it outward so a chakra version of the swing would launch forward at her ball of fire [ Dull Blade | S+ ]. The strength of her fire overcame the blade, though the wisps of fire that overwhelmed his chakra blade and made it to him were not too significant. His skin, clothing, and hair bore some singed bits, but he made a show of looking at her without flinching, visibly unaffected. He was not human. He was the hand of fate. He was not going to listen...
Except her words echoed. In fact, as she had begun saying them, begun repeating back to him what he had once said, he found himself mouthing along poorly. No. It was muscle memory; the amaterasu had consumed all parts of his life before he was remade in Yatargarasu's vision, remade into the hand of fate he was designed to be all along. He made the requisite hand seals to generate a tornado of corrosive water around her, aiming to trap the woman so he could burn her once and for all [ Devouring Tornado [ Musabori Kuu Tatsumaki ] | Rank A ]. He cringed only as he continued seeing their fight superimposed with images of another -- his desire to force fire out of her, the righteousness of his quest -- no, it wasn't him. He was The Poisoner. And she was going to die to his flames. It was her fate.

This vortex of water is up to fifty feet wide and extends one hundred feet into the air. This rapidly spinning vortex of corrosive water draws all foes within twenty feet into it unless they pay the cost of the technique in stamina while gripping something to resist. Opponents who are sucked in have all statistic advantages negated for the remainder of combat as the corrosive boiling water saps all their vitality, reducing an activation from them for five posts as they writhe in painful blisters from tier four burns and corrosion.

The tips of Mina’s fingers were ignited by red flame as she slammed her hand to the ground. “Flame Formation!” She yelled. A pillar of sparkling, crimson fire erupted around Mina at the same time that Kai’s steam tornado whirled around her. “When could he do that...?” She breathed, looking around as the steam eroded her barrier. The force of chakra from the jutsu flung Mina away, crashing into a nearby building. She groaned, her skin red and burnt from the superheated steam. [Flame Shift: Entropy Mode, Seinaru Flame Formation B Rank Overwhelming. I’m using it to dodge the system effects, Mina’s still gonna take RP damage] It hurt like hell, but the Jonin couldn’t help but chuckle. Kai was reacting to her words, and that put a smirk on her face. She just needed to press that advantage.
“You want me to burn?” Mina pushed herself from the stone and onto her feet, causing small bits of stone to fall on the ground around her. “I’ll let you off the hook once you back up your words, Kai Uchiha!” She jabbed her thumb to her chest at her declaration. “If you want this to end, you’re gonna have to really let me have it.” As Mina weaved chakra into her words, a shadow apparition would form behind her, mimicking her movements. “You’re not the Kai I know! He’d never fall to something as stupid as ‘fate!’ That’s how quitters talk, and you don’t let anybody quit. So I’m not gonna quit, either! I don’t care how long it takes! I don’t care how much we have to fight, or how much of a beating I’ll have to take!” The shadow behind Mina would begin to form more details as she spoke, until The Poisoner would recognize the form behind her. Kai Uchiha, how Mina remembered him, stood behind her. He spoke in unison with her, moving the same way as she was. “I’m not giving up on you Kai! Not ever!” [Whispers of the Dead B Rank]
With her speech finished, Mina began to move at high speeds. Even with Kai’s Sharingan it would be hard for him to keep up as she left trails of flame in her wake. Her movements were seeming erratic, as she bounced from building to building like a pinball. It wouldn’t be until she striked that Mina would stop at Kai’s right side. She swung her fist into Kai’s chin, to knock him high into the air, before following after. The redhead would spin as she rose above the Uchiha, slamming her heel down into his stomach with an explosion of flame and force, to crash him into the ground. ▰ Seinaru Flame Formation [ Seinaru Kaenjin ] | Rank B | Fire Ninjutsu | Spiritual A defensive technique used by Mina, where she begins by igniting a flame on the tips of each of her fingers. Mina will slam this hand on the ground and create a massive pillar of fire that surrounds her in a circle with a 25 foot radius. Making contact with this barrier inflicts Tier 3 Burns/Burning. When augmented by a Flame type of Seinaru Enjo, this technique gains the following effects:
Flames of Strength: When augmented with these flames, Mina can expand the barrier, or use the flames of the barrier to cast a Katon jutsu of B Rank or lower without diminishing the strength of the barrier.
Flames of Entropy: When contact is made with oncoming jutsu, this barrier can absorb one rank of chakra from it. This allows the barrier to actively defend against techniques of its rank and stay standing, or defend against a higher rank jutsu once.
Flames of Conductivity: By expending a rank less in chakra, Mina is able to create expand this barrier to one ally per rank of this technique.

The Poisoner growled as she said the name Kai Uchiha. The name pounded inside of his head, but he refused to acknowledge it further. Unfortunately, his anger distracted him; the darkness and the whispers surrounded him, appearing as Taurin, the one thing The Poisoner and Kai shared. Taurin kept calling out to him, criticizing him. The Poisoner gripped his hair close to the scalp as he struggled to breathe for a moment before he realized that fate had claimed Taurin and that was that - dead men had no room to criticize the living. The Poisoner felt himself gaining power over the situation again, his anger and resentment and willingness to give into fate being vindicated by the presence of a critical Taurin.
Of course, it served as distraction enough for him to get struck by the quick fighter. After the first hit, he activated his lightning armor again to absorb the following strikes [ Lightning Armor [ Raiton no Yoroi ] | Rank S ]. With their close proximity, as he descended to the ground with Mina above him, he held a hand out and generated a windmill shuriken out of chakra [ Windmill Creation | Rank S+ | Spiritual ]. "Kai died because fate willed it," The Poisoner said, finally acknowledging Kai in his performance to destroy Mina's hope. "All that is left is me, the hand of fate. You can take the beating for as long as you can, but it doesn't change the outcome: you're going to die in the same flames that killed him." His performance was neither rhythmic nor rhyming, but he didn't need either to perform better than Kai ever could; his words weaved a story as he coated the chakra-shuriken in poison. Before hitting the ground, he brought the blade up with two hands, bringing the blade to her stomach because he could reach it to try and cut her [ Fiercest Blades (Blight poison) / Scissor Blades | Rank S | Simple **Treated as Complex** ].
my understanding of having at least [8] endurance, i can treat techniques as four ranks lower. i re-read the stat system this morning but i could very well be wrong and def correct me if that's the case. i'm acting as he tanks the first hit at c-rank.

As a spiritual technique, these shurikens can withstand being used in simple techniques two ranks above or complex techniques one rank above. “I don’t buy that for a second!” Mina snarled as her heel brought them both into the ground. The street shattered under the force, leveling the stone around them. Mina didn’t leave the collision unscathed, however. The Poisoner slashed his blade across her stomach, causing a deep gash to bleed onto him profusely. But it wasn’t the wound that made the Jonin worry. She knew how Kai fought, and the things he could make. Nothing specific, but she didn’t need the details to know that a deadly poison had just entered her system. Just how long did she have? A mental clock inside Mina’s head began to tick by as she took inventory of herself. The woman could feel the nerve endings of her wound feel ignited, like a fire tracing up and burning every cell in her body. The poison was fast acting, and it was hard to get a guess on how much longer until she died.
Still, Mina had a job to do. The fiery redhead picked up the quiet Uchiha by the scruff of his shirt, easily lifting him despite the poison draining her strength rapidly. “God, you are so annoying.” She growled. She locked eyes with The Poisoner, her emerald eyes alight despite the exhaustion that the poison was putting on her. She could feel her breaths come in shorter bursts than before. Had there always been three Kai’s fighting? “You talk about Kai like you know him. But you don't know the first thing about him!” Mina continued. She swung The Poisoner, slamming him against a stone wall without letting go, to pin him so that he and Kai were forced to look at her. “So let me tell you something about Kai Uchiha. He is a man that is stronger than fate and more stubborn than destiny. He’s someone that would fight against the gods themselves if it was for someone he cares about. He’s compassionate and he’d never give in to you if he knew it’d turn him into someone that would try and kill his friends.”
As she spoke, Mina could feel the poison coursing through her veins. She coughed, forcing blood out from her mouth. She looked visibly more exhausted. “You could never understand the amount of violence and hardships it took for Kai to become as gentle as he is. You may have his body, or know his techniques, but you don’t understand what makes Kai who he is. His soul has been formed by a lifetime of battle and hard work He persists, over and over, inspiring the ones around him to do the same.” Mina clenched her other fist, igniting it with superheated chakra until the whole street was flooded with crimson light. With the hand gripping the Poisoner, she dragged him through the stone wall before slamming him to the ground. “So, faker. Let me show you what Kai’s strength is like!!” The Flamebringer yelled, before she swung her flame-covered fist into the man’s stomach, unleashing a wave of glittering crimson Seinaru Enjo flame. The flames that Kai worked so hard to get her to use. [Seinaru Blast Wave S+>>S Complex, Explosion S+ Overwhelming]
▰ Seinaru Blastwave [ Seinaru Eikyō ] | Rank S+>>S | Taijutsu [ Katon ]| Cost [ Complex ] A technique modeled after the Ignition Release Howitzer Impact. This allows Mina to coat any part of her body with Seinaru Enjo fire before she strikes at a target. While condensed, upon contact the flame immediately explodes outward by 100 feet from impact. By using the flames to propel herself, Mina is able to increase to power of her impact. When contact is made and the flames explode out, anyone within the radius is afflicted with Tier 3 Burns/Burning and Tier 3 Trauma.
Flames of Strength: The explosive power of this technique is doubled to 200 feet. It additionally increases the tiers of Trauma and Burning by [1] and also inflicts Tier 2 Blindness.
Flames of Entropy: No longer applies Trauma. However, everything contacted by the flames will instantly disintegrate as the flames eat away at them. Because of the sudden disintegration of their body, the target will be afflicted with Tier 3 Suffocation and Tier 3 Burns/Burning
Flames of Conductivity: Mina is able to recast this technique by weakening its rank and paying for it again at this new rank, for no activation. This does not increase the stacks of Trauma or Burning if used on the same target. However, if used on multiple targets, Mina is able to apply Tiered Trauma and Tiered Burns/Burning.
▰ Explosion [ Bakuha ] | Rank S+ | Spiritual | Supplementary The user channels their chakra to the surface of their hands, feet, elbows or knees. This chakra becomes super heated and explosive, staying dormant in the desired body part until physical contact is made. This explosion expands 10 feet outward per rank of the technique, throwing those in it's range to it's furthest limits with concussive force, causing tiered burns and trauma. This is often used to augment the user's taijutsu or basic combat attacks to grant them additional force.

The pleasure he should have gotten from poisoning her was sullied by the moral compass The Poisoner had tried to bury underneath the Amaterasu rioting in his mind. He bore her strikes with a smirk, relishing the visible effects of the poison on her body, knowing she was hurting her beloved Kai's body but it simply wasn't Kai's anymore. But the stupid b***h's words were making Kai difficult to contain, and The Poisoner screamed in pain as Kai sent the sensation of ice picks and electricity into his brain, making it difficult to keep himself together. He wasn't feeling as agile as usual, so he had to rely on forcing his way out of her fiery strike - he flickered twenty feet behind her, red eyes bright in anger [ Body Flicker | D ].
"I could bleed that strength from you and refill your body with poison, but you simply aren't worth the time. He can't fight fate anymore than you could fight killing those innocent people. And you couldn't, could you? You will burn the same way they did. Fate wills it." He had to end this quickly. She wasn't even a part of his plan and she was going to screw it all up. He couldn't give up control already, he had to maintain control above all else. He controlled fate because he was its hand. He channeled nature chakra to produce a huge wall of black flames like amaterasu to burn her alive [ Fire Release: Great Flame Annihilation [ Katon: Gōka Mekkyaku ] | Rank S+ x2 Overwhelming ]. He stood stock still as he burned her against the stone, even as he heard the internal ruckus of a twerp who couldn't leave well enough alone. The Poisoner's visage was twisted in a sick pleasure as he took a last look at the ball of flame that threatened the area. It wouldn't burn forever; it was far too hot to do much more than burn itself out after a few minutes, but she would be nothing but ash, nothing to distract him any longer.
He laughed as he left the scene. It was time to hunt for more.

Body Flicker 2 & 3. ▰ Fire Release: Great Flame Annihilation [ Katon: Gōka Mekkyaku ] | Rank S+ x2 Overwhelming The user inhales deeply, gathering chakra in their lungs before exhaling with a mighty breath. With their exhale, an immesurably intense flame is produced that creates a massive one hundred and fifty foot wall of flames that spans out in a wave before the user and washes over anything in it's path. This technique does not suffer elemental weakness to water when colliding with techniques A Rank and lower. Those contacted by the infernal wave suffer tier four burns and the entire topic is subject to burning for six posts following the attack.

Mina’s fist struck the ground with all of the power she could muster, sending a wave of flame down the street. While the red embers washed over the stone, they notably didn’t harm any of the buildings it touched. The only damage was to the street, where the Jonin’s fist sank into the stone. The panting redhead looked up to look at The Poisoner. She wanted to stand tall, but the best she could do was hold herself up with her hands on her knees. Her fatigue was catching up with her as the poison coursed through her system. It was the only reason that The Poisoner even had the chance to say the words that he did.
Mina knew it wasn’t him, that Kai wouldn’t use New Verales against her. But hearing it come from his voice dug deeper into Mina than his blade had. “Of course I couldn’t have fought that back. I was far too weak, far too undisciplined. And it cost hundreds of people their lives.” She retorted. Her tone was hard despite its softness. The light from Mina’s eyes began to fade as weariness began to force her eyes closed. “But I am never going to let another innocent person burn.” The woman locked eyes with The Poisoner. Even in their dulled state, with most of her sight gone, she still carried embers of determination within them.
She had to move. She had to keep going. So Mina took a step, and then another. Slowly stumbling towards The Poisoner before it became a run. She brought her fist back, to take one more punch at the thing possessing her friend’s body. But the punch fell short, mere inches from his face, before the ring of black fire circled around Mina. And it did exactly as The Poisoner wanted it to do. She burned beneath the flames of Amaterasu. The only part of her that wasn’t burning was the fist she used to strike. From that hand, after The Poisoner left, one more red spark formed before turning into a full on blaze. It coated Mina’s arm and spread through the black fire as it cloaked her body. [Cloak of Divinity S+ Overwhelming x2] It managed to hold out long enough for the Amaterasu fire to burn itself out. The red fire faded as Mina fell to the ground. Still the shinobi gripped the ground in a feeble attempt to pull herself forward, to pursue Kai. “I can still…” she managed to breath, weakly, before eventually fully collapsing.
Some time later, Mina awoke in the Konoha hospital. She looked around bleary eyed before she could make out the figures of her neighbors. They must’ve brought me here… She thought before eventually passing out again.
