Third largest garden on the Kumoimine Keep grounds. The Wisteria Gardens are a well-tended stretch of landscaping genius and remains one of Empress Unki's favorite locations in the Cloud Palace. Her majesty gave her blessing for a celebration in the appealing venue. Members of the Hyuga and Rio families, as well as their esteemed guests, make up the present majority of attendees. The Lightning Emperor and Empress are under the protection of their Royal Guard and Kumoito's elite castle guard. Ada also mixed undercover officers of her personal Nuwa defense force into the crowd to best protect all of the guests to her and Kenshin's wedding. Empress Unki also provided a delectable and widely varied number of food and beverage options, such as gourmet takoyaki, crab rangoons, and deviled eggs with elderflower martinis as the premier drink at the full bar. The Rion Conglomerate provided for most of the decoration and entertainment.
The groom is globally-renowned Sentinel of Justice and first Sannin of Arashigakure, as well as the Imperial Lightning Hyuga clan's newly appointed head, Lord Kenshin Hyuga. Chosen One of the Mother of All and an integral hero of Kogarashi War.
The bride is Lady Ada Rio, recently appointed head of the Rio Noble Household and owner of the world-famous triple conglomerate, the RAN Trinity. She was once the commander of Emperor Shiro's royal guard and is a decorated veteran of the UHV War.
The groom's Best Man, Kojiro Kanzaki, and other groomsmen are to wear sleek black suits with wisteria purple ascots and handkerchiefs. The bride's Maid of Honor, Selina Rosewater, has been provided a gorgeous amethyst purple dress while the other bridesmaids will be wearing matching dresses with a beautiful iridescent gradient of colors that elegantly transition from purple into red.

The wisteria flowers bloomed in excess as a force, akin to a spirit or a shadow, moved silently through them. As the form moved from each flower, the wisteria of usual royal and reserved purples shifted ever so subtly to the pink. A subtle movement for a typically not so subtle shinobi. She did not move this way for subterfuge or sinister intent, however. No, on this honored day of friends and gaiety, she slipped through the fauna in order to avoid the crowds and make her way to the man of the hour; Kenshin Hyuga. Kenshin, once ousted by his family and forced under the surname of Kosei, was one of Selina's longest and deepest friendships. Although not always on the right foot, the two of them endured tragedies beside each other, and their trust in each other only strengthening with each hardship. Eventually that trust became friendship, and from that friendship platonic love blossomed. Now with giddy feet and warm cheeks she eagerly manifested in a cascade of pink petals inside Kenshin's chambers, where the man no doubt would be aware of her intrusion. Even without his byakugan active the man always knew when Selina drew closer, and as she resumed her cheeky feminine form, her outfit, usually seen as a comfortable dancer's wardrobe, was instead a sleek, stunning dress in the colors coordinated by Ada for esteemed maid of honor. Selina would not enter Kenshin's room if he was undressed, but assuming that he was in the process of tiding up his attire she would bow politely and smile. "I was hoping you may let me fix your handkerchief. For old time sake." She said, recalling the moment when Arashi was attacked and Kenshin needed a friend, that Selina appeared and helped him return his focus. Times have dramatically shifted from then, and mostly all for the better. Nevertheless, Selina appeared with the simple hopes of having a chance to assist Kenshin in the best day of his life.
▱▰▱Kenshin was in exceptionally high spirits on his wedding day. His upper lip was as straight as ever but his characteristic wrinkled frown was instead replaced by a relaxed expression. The wedding was finally being set in motion after what seemed like years of planning being jammed into a few weeks. He had to help Ada plan the wedding while commencing his duties as the budding head of the Imperial Lightning Hyuga clan and commencing construction of the Pale Citadel. He was also transitioning out of his role as a police captain all the while. This was a period of swift and decisive change that he never expected. He was legitimized, made the heir of his clan, and marrying the woman he cherished most for the better part of a decade. It was overwhelming and difficult to manage his stress but today he knew that he could exhale and just enjoy it.
▱▰▱He opened the door and was fully dressed in his dark suit. The Hyuga symbol was prominent as a badge on his lapel but his cravat remained loose and untied around his neck. He could see the flower petals converging in the center of the room into Selina's form. "It seems you're blending in well at this venue." Kenshin observed as his sharp pale eyes relaxed. His face remained serious but more pleasant than usual as he made his light-hearted quip. The Wisteria Gardens seemed to be made for a kunoichi like Selina. When she offered to tie his cravat he just nodded and reminisced. "Aren't you supposed to be with Ada, esteemed maid of honor?" He sounded more strict and dutiful than he actually intended under these circumstances but his face pleasantly betrayed his tone. He approached her and would allow her to tie the cravat and complete his wedding attire. It was tailored to him and specifically made according to his grandfather's instructions for a traditional Hyuga wedding. As she tied the silk around his neck he would reminisce about the last time. "I hope I seem less unhinged this time." Kenshin said in reference to the last time that she tied his cravat. He looked out of the window as he spoke as if looking toward a brighter future. "There's never been this much joy in my life. It seems that all of our lives have been pieced back together since Seizan." His words were optimistic and intended to appeal to Selina as well as his own better angels. Once she was done he would politely dismiss her. "Go on now, it's tradition for the men to gather with the groom alone. Go see Ada." His face warmed up before he swiftly turned on his heel and walked into the parlor where the groomsmen were beginning to gather.

He looked away from Kenshin as he passed and coughed into a cloth handkerchief. The room was filled with his male relatives in the Hyuga line, most of whom he was just barely getting to know since he was legitimized. There were also men from the Rio and Kyuri families who were beginning to enter the room. Kenshin planned to speak to them momentarily before the ceremony would begin. The first person who he approached in the parlor was Kojiro, his best man. "Are you nervous about your reception speech?" He was certain that his attentive former student was prepared if not overly rehearsed and anxious.

Half the resource cost of techniques from the rapier style of Sen Gekiretsu Nagareboshi applied allows the technique to carry the tenketsu sealing effects of a same-rank palm strike such as a B-Rank carrying 64 Palms effects. Getsuruito must be in its rapier form to use this ability and 5 chakra can be spent upon activation of this technique to transform it as such. Smiting Blade of the Night Watch [ Naitō Otchi no Sumittinguburēdo ] | Rank X | Bukijutsu [ Lightning ] | Spiritual When this technique is activated it crackles violently with night blue lightning for the entire duration. The electricity from the blade also forms bolts of lightning over the body of the user and appears to supercharge them. Whenever the blade is swung or thrust over the duration the user can fire a concentrated blast of ten bolts of lightning to accompany the strike equal to the rank applied but for only half the cost to initiate the technique. Hatake, Raiu, and Sage enhanced lightning can pass through the blade and apply to these lightning bolts. The bolts cause a thunderously deafening sonic boom and can inflict tier 2 burns upon direct contact with the lightning. Additionally, these lightning bolts can be freely applied to all complex bukijutsu for no action cost to smite enemies. The only action cost is when the technique is activated and all subsidiary abilities of the technique do not consume actions and only chakra. This ability can be used in both forms of Getsuruito.
Draconic Sabre of Moon Sundering [ Getsu Sandaringu no Dorakonikku Seibā ] | Rank X | Bukijutsu [ Lightning ] | Complex This is the original ability of the ancient Getsuruito blade and thus requires the original katana form. 5 chakra can be spent to transform the blade to its original form upon activation of this technique. Crackling and thunderous dark blue lightning can be applied to the katana's edge at any rank and the same lightning can form a dragon head formed from electricity over the body of the user for 10 posts. This allows all spiritual techniques the sword comes into contact with to be slashed through and even cut in half at the same rank despite the complex nature of the technique. For half of the original cost to activate the technique a same-rank spiritual electrical energy slash can be sent out from the slash of the blade. Kojiro Kanzaki stood absently in the parlor, fidgeting with the wisteria shaded ascot that hugged his neck just a slightly too snugly. His black suit was well fitted and clearly tailored by the finest Arashigakure had to offer. Having only made it to his first day in office before being comatose due to an attack of an assailant at his acceptance speech, Kenshin would not miss his former pupil's distant and frustrated gaze. Snapping to as the Lord Hyuuga addressed him, he would pull himself from his thoughts. " Nervous of the speech? No Sir. The words for this occasion come easily to me." He paused, touching his hand to the mostly healed wound on the left of his face and up his forehead where the assassin's shot marred him. The trajectory of the projectile had left it's mark running several inches due to the last minute reaction of his teacher, saving his life. In the months after the attack Kojiro " Of standing before large crowds, perhaps. It will pass with time though, I'm sure." he said, hoping to convince himself as well as Kenshin. He smiled, masking the new trauma for the moment. " Enjoy your day, Teacher. You have earned your happiness more than most."

Garbed in a kimono of red silk and simple design, a green haired doctor of Arashigakure stepped demurely into wisteria gardens of the Lightning Empress and the wedding of the Lord and Lady of the Pale Citadel. Her hands, out in the open, held a small purse in front of her. A commemorative golden pin received just earlier for being an honored guest, was fastened to the collar of her kimono. Eyes of the same shade as the kimono the young woman wore glanced in the direction of her partner to make sure that he had found a suitable place to wear the silver pin he had received, at the same place and time as her own. To her silent approval, the black haired wanderer did, in fact, know what to do with the silver pin. She would trust him with her life on the battlefield without batting an eye, and he had shown better behavior as of late than when the two were young and he was reckless. However... Well, in the unlikely circumstance she was asked, she would simply blame her distrust of his ability to keep up a put-together appearances on old habits dying hard. Yes, he wouldn't feel as insulted if she put it that way.
Returning her eyes forward, Kagerou resumed undertaking the actions expected of her as a guest to this party. Honored or not, she hardly knew what reason either Lady Ada or Lord Kenshin had for inviting her specifically. A brief meeting with Lord Kenshin for his implant and her position as surgeon general at Arashigakure were all she could think of. Nonetheless, she could not be so rude as to decline their efforts, so likewise, while she attended their wedding, she would strive to be a model guest. With the piles of gifts brought by other guests, Kagerou left a petite offering of her own that she had brought to bless the happy couple on this auspicious day. Then, presuming Takeda followed her, she walked with purpose to a particular table.
More purpose than one would expect out of someone who hardly knew why they were at a wedding, but that was simply because on her way to place her gift with the rest, she had caught a familiar face. Unexpected, but all the more welcome for it. Perhaps coming to this wedding would be just the change of pace she needed. The placid smile she wore lit up for a brief moment when she caught that familiar sight of black shades and white hair earlier, and now, as she walked across the garden grass in her wooden geta, the spark of excitement brought upon by familiarity in a strange land was more apparent. So long as there were great hurdles, the small opportunities of joy could only be more greatly cherished.
The signature click of geta coming to a halt lost in the sound of the soft grass, Kagerou would stop her steps upon nearing Toso and, following a polite bow to him and whoever he sat with, would greet him, "Lord Toso," and any other parties he sat with amicably by name, "This meeting is as fortunate as it is unexpected. I was ready to spend an entire ceremony with strangers aside from my plus one."

Toso. Was feeling in short. Rather whimsical. To be invited to the wedding of Kenshin Hyuga was a testament to the reparations of their frayed relationship and likely the beginning of a long standing unity between the two for years to come. Yet, nothing could shake the air of envy that came with the implications of Kenshin's retirement. If they did have history with one another, well then it was certainly something fleeting and forgettable in the midst of minor inebriations and just like minor inebriations the train of conversation and thoughts shifted. Then like a drop of a hat Toso would take another sip of his wine and smile gleefully. "Oh well! This is no place for mulling about thoughts such as that. Tis a momentous occasion after all! Certainly an ushering in of a future ever brighter bloo!" Toso would then wave in one of the caterers with a tray of wine glasses and assorted cheeses that approached professionally albeit a bit nervously knowing that they were serving the Arashikage. He'd top off the squid glass and Toso would then look to Kagerou and Takeda and the tray of filled glasses as if quietly peer pressuring them to loosen up. He'd then raise his glass. Culturally, Sadayo Soga did not feel obliged to wear anything different than what she selected for one occasion as important as a wedding: an unmarried woman dresses in a furisode robe. A very formal kimono for very formal occasions. Alike all fashion in the kimono spectrum the use of color and print were just as important when considering the occasion. In this context, being a lovely wedding with a certain array of wisteria in the limelight, Sadayo was wise to recall a rule of thumb for fashion. Wearing wisteria while viewing blooming wisteria was wholelly against proper customs. This rule applies for any flower frequently found on fabric: cherry blossoms, chrysanthemum, lilies, hydrangea, and whatever floral blessing the season was flaunting at the time of… dressing up. Don't wear cherry blossoms while viewing cherry blossoms, don't wear wisteria while viewing wisteria! It's a quirky rule probably outlined by quirky artists or envious busybodies who didn't want to be overlooked because they didn't match the scenery. Any attempts to break the mold of kimono whatnots at someone else's wedding wouldn't pass for a visiting dignitary.
Sadayo was one to pine for peony patterns for formal occasions. The unspoken language of flowers whispered grandeur at sight of the peony, recalling “wealth” and “reputable” as worthy meanings for a political icon who couldn't dismiss her own pride. But the hardened fact was that if wisteria was in bloom peonies were in bloom too. How was she, a complete foreigner, supposed to know if the Imperial couple kept peonies on the grounds? This ordeal was, after all, a garden party!
It was proper, according to those quirky social norms, to display a flower currently out of season. Culture, the girl feared, was acting against her. Culture (and the matter of time constraints) dictated that the plum print furisode was a more suiting choice. Sadayo, in all of her conceited knowledge on the subject of flowers, would know quite well the notoriety of the plum flower: "nobility", "patience", and "loyalty"; red plum for "elegance" and white plum for "the refined" were suiting words befitting this beloved blossom. Someone like Sadayo would peacefully have no quips and arrive, feeling stately, cultivated, and not spare a worry about her appearance. Not today, though. Culture had instead condemned her, it seemed, at least according to the rampant worry sounding off inside Sadayo's thoughts. tab There was just one problem gnawing at her: that she was too proud, or too confused, too bothered, or just too self-conscious to admit. Plum blossoms. Plum. Ume. Umechika. Umechika Masato: he actually knew the bridegroom, received his own invitation, and one could only guess if the whole ordeal meant anything. Unresolved, conflicting, confusing, but amusing sensations of longing for Masato were testing her at a very inopportune place. He looked so nice! At this point in time, Sadayo had not come to terms with the reality of her heartfelt interest and was more intertwined with denial. Here she was, all prettied up in red silks sprinkled with gold, black, and white plum motifs; ponytails were compacted into some kind of bun, outlined with a braid, sporting a large red flower (suspiciously mimicking a tsubaki flower) with a trellis of breads dangling beside her head.
Inside, Sadayo's thoughts ping-ponging from false, self-conscious scrutiny she pretended was spawning from other guests to panicking over nothing and replying with quelling excuses to no avail. Oh, displaying plum blossoms for her boyfriend? How sweet! No! Replies were formed out of jealousy for the happy couple- any couple- despite how confidently assuring she set them up in her head. We're not dating! I'm not TRYING to match HIM! Not dating! I mean, nobody would care what I'm wearing, yeah? We're just together in the same space. I'm wearing plum to wear plum. I like plum! Not for any Masato-related reasons and nobody is going to notice plum-ness of plum blossoms I just like plum. It was easier just not to think and stress about anything plum related.
The inside of Sadayo's thoughts housed a tumultuous, pointless inner conflict that went as far as to actually stifle her breathing with anxiety. A strange detail one might figure for someone who was otherwise cool as a cucumber on the exterior front. Time would just have to blow over the… whatever it is exactly ransacking her nerves. "Wait. Your collar." She began, her brow crumpling as she stows a small handbag under her sleeve. A step closer brought Sadayo much closer to Masato's side. Her yellowed sights flickering over the side of his face above as she began pinching, pulling, and relaying what she claimed was a flipped portion of the lining of his jacket. Even biting her lip. With how cold tips of her index and middle fingers were, adjusting slight issues with Masato’s appearance might have been a well played excuse just touch him. “There,” she mumbled before patting the lining to signal the robe was ”fixed”. Her lips- gently coated pink for the occasion- trembled before she could sheepish tack on an apology, “sorry.” Just how many time Sadayo made an excuse to fix something was lost on her. Twice? Three times, so far? It probably made him uncomfortable.
"I- I guess this tests obscure old rumor I heard one time about monsters hating wisteria. I bet that silly old fox is laughing.” She palmed the handbag on her pale efforts of a joke before she could avert her stare to take in some massive sprawl of pink and white wisteria flowers. Anything, really, to distract and relax her at this rate. "Neither this Kenshin or his bride were present at that Island Summit three years ago. The... eccentric Arashikage and Emperor were present." Ultimately turning back, Sadayo raises her sleeve above her chin if only make use of its black silk to obscure a saucy grin and hush her prattling commentary about their foreign hosts: "His outfit was so casual like he came off a night of partying. I wouldn't have taken him as the type to have substantial flower garden." A bouncy, little giggle of a noise bled through a smile as she withdrew her sleeve. The comment may have been completely lost to a man who Sadayo often figured was detached by the fuss of appearances. But who else could she snicker to? "Anyhow," her demeanor suddenly taking the sheepish flip again. Her sights drifting up to Masato before catching onto another swathe of wisteria whites and purples above. "I was dreading to ask you. This Kenshin character doesn't worship you like those giddy green fanatics, does he?" There weren't special exceptions being made for a son of Evergreen to make an appearances for a political affair?
Garbed in a kimono of red silk and simple design, a green haired doctor of Arashigakure stepped demurely into wisteria gardens of the Lightning Empress and the wedding of the Lord and Lady of the Pale Citadel. Her hands, out in the open, held a small purse in front of her. A commemorative golden pin received just earlier for being an honored guest, was fastened to the collar of her kimono. Eyes of the same shade as the kimono the young woman wore glanced in the direction of her partner to make sure that he had found a suitable place to wear the silver pin he had received, at the same place and time as her own. To her silent approval, the black haired wanderer did, in fact, know what to do with the silver pin. She would trust him with her life on the battlefield without batting an eye, and he had shown better behavior as of late than when the two were young and he was reckless. However... Well, in the unlikely circumstance she was asked, she would simply blame her distrust of his ability to keep up a put-together appearances on old habits dying hard. Yes, he wouldn't feel as insulted if she put it that way.
