There are around 317,051 domestic properties and 24,484 non-domestic properties in North Wales that fall under the protection of the North Wales Fire and Rescue Service. The Denbigh Fire Station is one of over forty and covers the geological areas from Denbigh to Bodfari, Afonwen, Llanrhaeadr and Trefnant and over the Denbigh Moors.

Previously located under the town hall, Crown Square, the current station at Denbigh was opened by HMI Smith in 1972. Prior to the 1996 amalgamation, Denbigh Fire Station was part of the Denbighshire and Montgomeryshire Fire Service.

Crews attend local shows and Denbigh has hosted the Eisteddfod Genedlaethol twice. They also regularly take part in the National Car Wash to raise funds for The Fire Fighters Charity.
