We have received a call for assistence from Galar concerning gang activity in Spikemuth. Typically the local authorities handle these things themselves however they have requested our aid due to one concerning aspect of the gang; they have a Shadow Pokemon. The gang itself is not particularly concerning, just a bunch of disgruntled teens from poor families that are known to make trouble, however now that they have a Shadow Pokemon their threat level has drastically risen.

They are known to manipulate a Shadow Falinks in an unusual way, in that the separate 'soldiers' of this composite Pokemon are able to act independently of the leader, likely a side effect of the shadowfication. Curiously they don't seem to be able to infect separately, only as one, perhaps due to the lesser quantities of the virus they put out. However they are extremely aggressive and not very good at battling when apart, the teens using them individually just to make a mess of things and make off with whatever ill gotten goods they can, though just that one individual has proven challenging enough.

Your mission is to head to Spikemuth and locate the Five Points gang (their symbol a star) and apprehend the six individual Falinks soldiers. In spite of their name there are actually six members, their leader a teenage Galarian Linoone hybrid named Stanley Blackstar who always has the Falinks leader with him. Stanley is a well known delinquent in Spikemuth and has caused considerable problems with authorities, largely due to his rather prodigial hybrid strengths for his age. Be warned, Stanley is way craftier than he appears and for his age, many adults have underestimated him and wish they hadn't. Their hideout is unknown to authorities so it's up to you to do a lot of the leg work.

-Objective:
---Locate the six members of the Five Points gang and snag their individual Falinks, including the Falinks leader held by Stanley Blackstar.

-Opposition:
---The five teenage grunts of the Five Points gang. They will each have a single unit of a Shadow Falinks.
---Stanley Blackstar, teenage Galarian Linoone hybrid of the Five Points. He holds the leader of the Shadow Falinks as well as one of the following: Nickit, Impidimp, Morpeko, Inkay, Purrloin or Scraggy. He is capable of using the following hybrid moves: Night Slash, Fury Swipes, Swift, Counter, and Take Down. His ability is Quick Feet.

-Pokemon:
---You may snag one of Stanley's Pokemon or keep the Shadow Falinks for yourself, but not both. (Shadow Falinks would be turned over to Sub if you choose not to keep it.)

-Rewards:
---4x Snag Coins
---1x Black Glasses
---Varies from there.

Absinthe walked out of the Spikemuth Pokemon Center after making sure her team was in top shape. When Sub plopped this mission on her lap, she didn't think much of it. It looks like an easy mission to do - probably a bid from GRAY to get her out of HQ and working. Though now that she looked around, she didn't see any hints of this 'Five' Points Gang around. No Star graffiti or anything, at least not from what she could see. She sighed and started headed deeper into the town, looking around for any hint of this "gang's" tag sign.

Clare appeared outside the Spikemuth Pokemon Center with surprising serendipity. They arrived only a moment after Abby had and recognized the glove-like device she as wearing as being virtually identical to their own. "You must be the one I as told would meet me here... Um...Oh dear, what was that name again?" They'd mutter for a moment, trying to remember the name. "Oh! Abigail, right?" They'd hold out their hand in greeting. "I guess we're working on this together!"

Absinthe took Claire's hand, only to pull it down so she could reach the cuff of Claire's shirt. "Don't. EVER. Call me that again. My name is Absinthe," the young Deathrage growled. Abby was tempted to grab Claire's throat instead of her shirt, but the taller woman was a Snagem. She would have gotten hit if she wasn't.

It wasn't long before Abby let go and turned away from Claire. "We're looking for graffiti of a star. That's their tag. Following them is how we'll get to their base," Abby explained non-chalantly.

The fear in Clare's eyes was immediately evident when Abby pulled them down to her level and clarified the misunderstanding. "I'm sorry. I must have misheard the name." They apologized, attempting to pull free from the unfairly strong young girl's grip. Once they'd been set free again and straightened up, the hybrid looked around, failing to see the star-shaped marks Abby mentioned. "I'm afraid I'm not very familiar with the concept of 'gangs' so I'll have to take your word for it." They told the young Deathrage before following after her. "Maybe one of my Pokemon can help us find these marks, though?"

Tossing out a Pokeball that opened to reveal Visage, their Dreepy, they spoke to the Pokemon. "Can you help us keep an eye out for star-shaped marks on the walls around here?" Visage nodded before she floated higher up into the air and began to spin in place, looking for signs of such markings. "If se spots anything, it'll give us a direction to move in at least."

It was only upon looking around again that Clare began to notice more than the walls themselves, mainly that this town looked like a dump, although not as bad as the rumors of Po Town before it's reconstruction.

((Core Memory unlocked: Trashed Town))

“It doesn’t look like there are any of those Star marks around here. Maybe we should try another part of town?” Clare suggested after a moment more of looking around. Visage floated down from above and shook her head, confirming Clare’s suspicions as well. “We’re near the Pokemon center, right? Let’s use it as a way point and try searching further out toward the edge of town? If they’re using brute force to try and control parts of the town, they’d probably want to speed out as much as possible unless they have to, right?” They’d suggest, looking toward the South end of the city.

Abby sighed. "Yeah, no point hanging around here, let's go," she replied.

A little while after, as the two were headed southward, they would come across something similar to what they were looking for. On the side of a road, in some short grass, stood a teenage boy about two years older than Absinthe, and slightly taller than her, as well. The rest of his clothes were nothing remarkable, but he wore a blue jacket with white trim - except for a black, five-pointed star accessory.

Abby intended to question the guy, but he spoke up first. "Hey, ladies. You two wouldn't be up for a Pokemon battle, wouldja? I'm kinda bored, so how about the winner takes a Pokemon from the loser to make things interesting."

Absinthe smirked at that. This guy wasn't fooling anybody, least of all the young Deathrage. "Nobody in their right mind would take a garbage offer like that. Go crawl in a Route somewhere if you want to add to your team," she insisted.

"Nah, that's WAY too boring," the hoodlum insisted, grabbing a Pokeball form his belt. "Y'know what, just give me all the Pokemon you got. If you don't want them getting infected, that is," he smirked cruelly, letting a single Shadow Falinks unit out of its ball.

Abby's bewildered smirk grew into a malicious grin once Falinks was revealed. "Today's your lucky day, brat. Turns out you got something I want." She then let Palladia, her mountain of a Machamp, out of her ball. "Beat its ~*~," she cursed, pointing at the single Falink. The Shadow Pokemon leaped at Palladia in response, but this only got it caught in four fists of Close Combat, which resulted in the Falink getting pummeled before being knocked back to the ground in front of its trainer.

Said trainer was starting to freak out a bit at the sight of this. "Nickit, come help out!" he shouted, ripping another ball from its belt and forcefully letting the Fox Pokemon out of its ball. Nickit didn't have any interest in Abby's Machamp, however, and turned to focus on Claire instead.

Clare calmly following after Abby with Visage on their shoulder, looking around for any signs of the star-shaped tags they'd been told to look out for. "I'm not seeing much..." They admitted as the group traveled but it wouldn't be a moment longer before the local hoodlum assailed them. "Infected?" the hybrid asked, wondering what he meant for a moment before he released the lone Falinks unit. Something about it seemed off and it wasn't just the eerie aura it was exuding. They stayed back for the moment as Abby sent in the huge mass of muscles to fighting the teen until he sent out another Pokemon as well, some kind of small vulpine. The Nickit didn't seem too eager to attack as first but Clare wasn't willing to take chances on that right now. Tossing out a Pokeball, they'd release their recently hatched Pincurchin. "Eidolon, use Bubble Beam." They'd tell the small Electric-type as electrical energy surged outward from it's body, racing along the ground. The Electric Terrain it's ability triggered would slightly numb the feet of any Pokemon on the ground but otherwise, would simply make it impossible to not be alert for the moment. Should Nickit falter for the moment, it would find itself being blasted by a stream-like beam of almost-explosive bubbles being shot from the stationary sea urchin Pokemon.

Upon seeing Pinchurchin, the Nickit just stared at it, not thinking much of the odd, foreign Pokemon. It's because of this that it almost got a facefull of Bubblebeam, and while it did manage to get its tail in the way in time, that didn't stop the pain. Nickit took the hit for a bit before leaping back and to the side, out of the way.

"What are you two doing? Attack!" The hoodlum shouted, looking somewhat panicked still. "Falinks, throw Close Combat back at that Machamp! Nickit, use Night Slash!" he ordered. Falinks ignored its order, however, and just stood there staring at Palladia. Nickit was kind enough to obey, however, jumping into the air and diving down at Eidolon with claws charged with Dark-type energy.

"Waiting for the chance to counter? You should have taken that shot in the first place. Palladia, Bulk Up. Let's see if its strength can match yours after this!" Absinthe jeered. Palladia complied, flexing her muscles. After a wave of Fighting-type energy washed over her body, what were once soft, somewhat feminine muscles became hard as steel and just as rugged. Absinthe was willing to play the waiting game for a short while.

Clare watched the opposing Pokémon but had to question for a moment if this was even allowed. They were familiar with battling as a concept but as far as they could recall, it was supposed to be one on one. They certainly weren’t going to just sit here and be attacked, though, ensuring that their Pokémon were directed and given orders as needed. “Eidolon, use Rising Voltage!”

The small urchin gave Clare a confused look for a moment. That wasn’t a move it knew yet. “Drat…” Clare muttered before calling a different move. “Then use Pin Missile. We can work on the other move later.”

That was a move Eidolon knew and it responded just as Nickit’s Night Slash connected. From it’s frontmost spikes, it fired four bug energy infused missiles from their tips, aiming to try and perforate the fox. It was still young and wouldn’t be able to take more than one or two attacks but battling an unskilled opponent like this one, with an excess of eagerness and not enough sense, would be the perfect chance to train it up.

Nickit screamed in Pokespeak and leapt back, but the damage had been done by then. Nickit then tried to pull the four needles out of his tail, but the Bug-type energy they were infused with made that a little more difficult than the Dark-type was willing to deal with.

"That weird bug must be strong," the hoodlum jeered, making it seam as though he didn't understand the concept of type advantages. "Use Foul Play! Turn that thing's strength against it!" he ordered, neglecting to tell the sole Falink what to do. It seemed he was capable of learning, and indeed, the Falink acted on its own, summoning some Bug-type energy of its own to turn into a large green horn jutting out of its head. It then charged at Palladia, seeking to attack with its new appendage.

Absinthe only smirked at this. "That's not gonna do crap!" she sneered. "Knock its brains out! Dynamic Punch!"

Palladia wound back to deliver a heavily telegraphed attack that would have been easy to dodge for any Pokemon that was even barely paying attention. The lone Falink, however, was on a blind rush and didn't even care to watch what Palladia was doing, only where she was, so the attack hit. Loudly. When Palladia pulled back, the lone Falink wobbled quite a bit due to confusion. When Palladia noticed its attack wasn't present on its body, she looked to the fist she used to attack to find the Megahorn lodged into her fist. Unlike Nickit, however, she had the discipline and resilience to pull the energy spike out of her flesh in spite of the pain that doing so caused her.

Eidolon ended up getting caught right in the face by the Nickit’s attack but was barely fazed. “Eidolon only just hatched…” Clare muttered softly. “This is actually his very first battle.” The Nickit’s failed attack ended, Clare called for another one of their own. “Use Pin Missile again!” The little Electric-type’s spikes glowed brightly for a moment before three missiles of Bug energy fired off from them, tracing a series of wide arcs through the air, intent to skewer Nickit.
