Ever find yourself writing a post, about to reference an event that occurred, and realize you're not sure your character would've heard about it? Or finish up a plot, and want to ensure that everyone knows it happened? Well then, this is right where you need to be.

Like the Rumors thread of yore, this thread will serve as both the Headline Stories of the Daily Prophet, and the Wizarding World Rumor Mill. But, unlike the Rumors thread, members will post their own stories to the thread, rather than submitting them to crew. If something happened and you think people ought to know, post it here for easy access to other members.

xxxX How to Use This Threadxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Submissions here can be serious, or they can be silly. Really all they need to be is something that would've been written or talked about. Remember that this isn't Hogwarts, so the threshold of what would be widespread enough to go here isn't as low. However, it is the Wizarding World, so it's not THAT much higher.

Examples of things that are appropriate to the thread are:

- Family tragedies, either public or not kept private enough
- Famous people, either the emergence of or developments relating to
- Mysterious happenings your character is responsible for or affected by
- Relationship drama or development among notable persons
- Poorly kept secrets

Anyone can post here, though because submissions aren't being vetted by crew before posting, there are some rules we expect you to follow.

1. You can only post about events that involve your own characters
2. If other members characters are involved, they must give permission, unless it is part of an approved plot request and qualifies as a Headline Story
3. Please specify at the bottom of the post if this is a [Headline Story] or a [Rumor Mill] like the example below.
4. Please also include a date for when the event occurred. It does not have to be an exact day, but must include the year at least, preferably also the season or month.
5. If possible, and if you like, you may include a link to the scene where the event (or part of it) occurred.
6. Crew can delete entries if they believe they don't belong here.

Example of a News Story:

During the 122th birthday celebration of Eliam Winchester, the Wincheter Estate in Winchester, England, was destroyed by the Fiendfyre Curse, killing at least 12-- including 2 generations of Winchesters-- and injuring many more in what the muggle press called the Sleeper's Hill Fire and the Wizarding press call the Winchester Massacre. Aurors currently suspect Awstin Tittensor, serial murderer, due to the presence of his knife and tell-tale 31 stab wounds. Tittensor’s whereabouts and motives are currently unknown and under investigation.

The Kinsley Family estate has seemingly been abandoned, with no one having seen movement within, or its inhabitants, in almost two years. Rumor has it that investigators found bodies buried in the garden, though there's been no confirmation. But some people think that the twins killed their parents and grandmother and fled; it'd make sense, things in that family never seemed quite right.
