As days passed, the winged creature found himself more and more comfortable in this form. Memories, while not all, had begun to filter back into his mind. Moments in the Stormborn land as a freeborn, trips through No-Man’s land as a Reaver, evenings shared with other bodies both out of comfort and pleasure, everything.

At least, mostly everything. There were moments that felt empty for Ciro, however, he could not push his mind to remember. Ultimately, new memories had been made in his current form, and those were slowly filling the gaps that melded his mind together.

A small sigh escaped Ciro has he exited his shared den with Nga, Judeau and Saki. The avian children had mostly taken off on their own, with the occasional visits to their parents. Asim’a-ciro couldn’t help but flash a small smile at the thought of his friend, no, best friend, becoming a father. What type of feeling was that? It was something Ciro knew he knew but….it was a feeling of emptiness. Should he have cubs? Would that fill any voids that were missing?

What if he were to find any of his children in his mortal life? What sort of memories would those bring back?

The little den had become far more crowded than the scruffy Raven god was happy with. He had had no idea how noisy and needy and…messy children were until he suddenly had six of them. SIX!! HOW HAD THEY EVEN HAPPENED?! There were days he still didn’t believe it.

It wasn’t that Judeau didn’t love his children, and spoil them, and worry about them every single waking moment (he may or may not have been accused of that last one too much), oh he certainly did in abundance. But even the most loving father had thought it was finally time for them to move their fluffy feathered butts out and find their own homes, preferably far enough away that he did y have to hear them bicker (so much bickering, did all siblings bicker so much? Surely he and his siblings had never…errr). Sure he missed the little feather heads now, but ah…sweet silence.

The raven stretched his wings in the morning air, peering down from his perch as his friend stirred. A yawn, wings spread, Judeau followed, gliding from the den to settle on a large rock near the entrance. Ah, such a peaceful day, he would never taking sleeping in for granted again.

A dark lion raised his nose to the air, inhaling unfamiliar scent of ozone and petrichor. It had been some time since he’d left his home, family, and pride behind on his journey. There had been many tears and arguments when he had told them of his plans. But Qui-gon had remained steadfast and, though she had been sad to see him go, his mother had know he must follow his own path and given him her blessing. His brother had not wanted him to go without him, but Qui-gon knew he’d never leave if he waited and Obi would never leave their grandfather or mother. A quiet sigh, he hoped one day he’d be forgiven for leaving in the middle of the night.

He had heard of the land of storms so long ago, from his father as a small cub. Since that day he had dreamed of such a place, heard its call, known he was meant to find it, to see it for himself. He had journeyed so far now, furthered than he could have imagined, surely he must be near by now. He was beginning to wonder if he had dreamed it all along, that the dark lion he had once met never existed at all.
