	𝔸𝕕𝕕𝕚𝕥𝕚𝕠𝕟𝕒𝕝 𝕀𝕟𝕗𝕠𝕣𝕞𝕒𝕥𝕚𝕠𝕟 ▪ The mortuary was built in the late 19th century and has been in the family for generations. Every generation of Payne since has been buried in the cemetery behind their home. ▪ Twice the house has caught fire: Once an electrical fire when Herschel Payne was a boy, resulting in the death of his uncle. The second was a kitchen fire from Moira attempting to bake as a teenager. Sometimes Theo swears he can still smell the burnt biscuits. There has been a fire extinguisher under the sink ever since. ▪ It's a given, with wizards and witches buried in the cemetery, that the land is haunted by a variety of ghosts. Many have been there longer than the living Payne family, and therefore, are seen as extended family to those in the house. Some are more liked than others. ▪ The Wifi Password changes weekly. There is a note on the refrigerator with a riddle, mimicking Theo's days in Ravenclaw House. The answer to the riddle is the password, always typed in leet speak for security. The current riddle: "It brings back the lost as though never gone, shines laughter and tears with light long since shone; a moment to make, a lifetime to shed; valued then but lost when your dead. What Is It?" Answer/Password: M3m0ry ▪ English is the primary language of the house, however Aveline and Moira are fluent in Cajun French, as Aveline hails from New Orleans. Uriel usually has a general idea what they're talking about, but Theo's pretty much clueless beyond a few basic sentences. ▪ The Paynes, despite their ancestry of Evangelist Priests, are a family of Pagans. There is a mix of beliefs between each of them underneath that umbrella. Questioning and understanding all religions is encouraged though given their line of work. ▪ Samhain and Yule are generally the most important holidays in the household. During Samhain, every grave in the cemetery is lit with candles and lanterns to honor the deceased, and a celebration is held late into the night. ▪ Since the tragic death of Rosie the tarantula, Moira has found herself with quite the collection of smaller spiders. There are hundreds at this point in the mortuary, living in the walls. She refers to them simply as her "Darlings". ▪ Miss Plum Crowley is a young crow that frequents the cemetery. She took a strong liking to Uriel when he was nine, and has been following him ever since. Usually she goes simply by Plum (after her favorite treat), but Uriel likes to call her Miss Crowley when she's being especially cheeky.
