~Story~

Irukandji never liked being last in anything. Growing up, her twin brothers were better at everything than her. They could swim faster, stronger, and learn things quicker than she cloud. Iru could be bitter, but she was young and hadn't matured enough to not care. One day, she ran into a sea warlock that took advantage of her naivety. He offered her the ability to heighten her senses, and make her better than what she was currently. Iru, accepted, without even thinking twice about it. This would allow her to live up to her potential! Like a Queen of the deep. The warlock brewed up a liquid gold potion, and poured it on the foals head. It burned and made her scream murder. She passed out. When she awoke, the gold potion still clung to her face, having a gelatinous look, and causing an unending ebb of pain. Nothing could get the gold off her face. She felt betrayed, and stupid. Something unhinged with her after that, and she was never the same. The blob on her face continued to grow, and drove her mad. Eventually, the gold bled down into her eyes. She lost her sight, for what she thought would be forever. This made her slip further into madness and sorrow. With her sight gone, she was forced to focus on her other senses.

One day, the warlock returned, happy to see she survived his experiment. Others had died before her, unable to bear the creeping pain of the gold goo. She could not see him, but she knew he was there. Outraged, she tried to lash out at him, and near landed a blow. "You have ruined me!" The warlock grinned wickedly. "Are you not more aware of the sounds and sensations that surround you? Even now, you know where I am, without seeing?" She felt a surge of water as the warlock moved and a pungent taste in her mouth before she lost consciousness. The warlock had used a sleeping potion on her. While she slept, he molded his gold clay that had spread across her face. His experiment was complete. "Well done my Queen." he whispered into her slumbering mind. "Find me, when you have embraced your true potential." Content with his work, he left her.

Irukandji awoke to a blinding light. She winced and then sucked in a long breath. Light... she had not seen light in so long. Blinking, she wasn't quite sure what it was she was seeing. As she turned her head, light refracted . Images came through in a kaleidoscope of color. She looked down at long forgotten legs, and saw not 2, but 2 x 8. The same repeated image as she looked through her one large jewel of an eye. Iru cackled so loud, she startled herself. Oh this was going to be fun...
