That's right, for those who like alternative romances, what are your favorites? Got any pics you want to show us? Make sure they're not explict. How about fan fiction? Or even your own stories and characters.
Terms: Boys Love A phrase (Often shortened to "BL") used to describe anime and manga involving romantic and sexual relationships between men. it is sometimes also used as an alternative to the word "shounen-ai". (Which has recently taken slightly negative connotations in Japan.) Girls Love A phrase (Often shortened to "GL") used to describe anime and manga involving romantic and sexual relationships between women. it is sometimes also used as an alternative to the word "shoujo-ai". (coined off boys love) Shounen-ai The term used to describe homosexual relationships between two boys in anime and manga. Shounen-ai is now an almost exclusively Western term, in Japan it has been replaced with Boy Love. (The term "shounen-ai" in Japan is now equivalent to "male *****".) Shoujo-ai The term used to describe homosexual relationships between two girls in anime/manga. Shoujo-ai is different from yuri as it does not contain sex. Some popular series that contain shoujo-ai or hints of shoujo-ai are Revolutionary Girl Utena and Maria-sama ga Miteru. Yaoi A term used to describe anime and manga involving graphic sex between male characters. The word is an acronym of the phrase "Yama nashi, Ochi nashi, Imi nashi" (No climax, no point, no meaning.) because yaoi is more focused on the sex, rather than the story. Yaoi is generally targeted at female audiences. Yuri A term used to describe anime and manga involving graphic sex between female characters. As opposed to yaoi, yuri tends to have more than a minimal plot. (In Japan, yaoi/yuri and shounen-ai/shoujo-ai are synonomous. It is the international fan definition that differentiates them.) Lolicon A shortening of the English phrase "Lolita complex", used to describe a genre of pornographic anime and manga depicting young girls. It is a very controversial genre due to it's subject matter. Supporters of Lolicon say it is "safer" than other child porn because it does not affect actual children, but detractors say that veiwing Lolicon makes one more likely to rape or molest children Lemon A term used when describing fanfiction that contains mature sexual content. A similar term, "Lime", is used to describe fanfiction with slightly milder sexual content.

I really don't have a standing on the subject, but if I were to read anything of the above, most likely it would be shonen-ai. ^_^

(I like this thread. x3)
To me, it seems as if yaoi is spreading more than yuri. When I go to the bookstore, I can always seem to find a "yaoi shelf" in the manga section, but I never see any yuri...
