I was thinking of starting my first fanfiction, but I wasn't sure if the idea had been used, and I want my fic to be as original as possible. I'm just gonna write the basic summary of the first chapter so you can tell me if its been done. Thank you all in advance!
And so no one is left wondering, Evil King Stan, his butler James, and Teen Idol Evil King Linda are (c) to Okage: Shadow King.
Its been 5 years since the downfall of Organization XIII, and Sora, Kairi, and Riku have enjoyed the peace in which they grew, despite the King's warning in the letter saying to keep sharp. When a new letter from His Majesty arrives, Sora and Riku are excited for a new adventure, while Kairi seems wary. The letter tells them that in order to accomplish said adventure, they need the help of an inhabitant on Halloween Town, and that the person can only be found with the King's "special package" that came with the letter. Inside the package is a Heartless detector, giving the trio the impression that the person must be constantly pursued by the creatures.
Meanwhile, something is stirring on The World That Never Was. 12 new Nobodies, the very apprentices of the former XIII (minus Roxas', however) have come back to avenge their "family". (These apprentices themselves are special, for their Somebodies were stillborn, meaning the Nobodies grew up as "normal" people from birth.) Not much is known about them except that their leader is named "Rixn".
Now on Halloween Town, our heroes meet up with dear old Jack Skelligton, who introduces them with the Heartless-resembling butler James. James escorts them into the graveyard, where he introduces his master, Stanley Hihat Trinidad XIV, or simply Evil King Stan. (Normally, Stan would have been a much more fearsome sight to behold, but his powers have diminshed over the years, leaving the poor Evil King in a mere shadowed form.) Stan then introduces his adopted daughter, Mad Princess Yam the First, and her tutor/friend Teen Idol Evil King Linda.
When Yam comes on the scene, the Heartless detector goes beserk, and Sora prepares to attack, only to be stopped by Riku. Riku, who had become somewhat of a pervert during the 5 year time skip, attempted to hit on Yam, only to have her foot meet his face. Yam tells him that because his heart was at first so weak to the darkness, he is a laughing stock among Heartless and that she wouldn't dare date him. She and Kairi quickly befriend.
After the minor controversy, Yam tells them of the Organization apprentices, one of whom being her "sister", the Nobody Mayx (or as Stan calls her, Gentle Princess Mayx the First). She tells them that 9 years ago, Mayx accepted the apprenticeship to Demyx when she was 10. 4 years later, she and the rest of the apprentices had been sent back to their homeworlds in an attempt to preserve the Organization. Mayx did return home for a short while, but ran away only leaving a note saying that "justice must be served" and was not seen for the following 5 years.
When Sora asks what the letter meant by the last statement, Yam says that they are coming after him, Kairi, and Riku to seek vengance. Sora again asks why Yam isn't on their side as well, seeing how she is a Heartless and he is a Keybearer. Yam replies by saying, "I don't hate you, and I don't hate the Keyblade either. I know it was made to help us and keep balance, and that's all well and good. What I do hate is the responsibility the Keyblade shoves on the person it chooses to bear it and that it only gives one side of the story. Not all Heartless and Nobodies are evil, you know." She seems on the verge of tears when she adds, "I just want my sister back."
She tells them that there may be a way to stop them. The two apprentices of Roxas went missing before the Organization's defeat, and these two are most likely the strongest of them all. Yam says that if they can be found, "there's a fighting chance against the end".
While Sora and Kairi dicuss the matter with Stan, Yam wanders off and is followed by Riku. He ends up following her to the Curly Hill, where he witnesses a strange solo dance by the Heartless maiden. Linda, who followed Riku unoticed, aplogizes for Yam earlier actions and says that she didn't used to act like that all the time. She explains that she taught Yam and Mayx to use their talents as their own unique power (Yam to dance, and Mayx to sing) and how those powers need each other for balance. Linda says when together, the sisters' talents and powers are at their strongest, but when apart, they resemble empty shells.
"I watched them grow up from babies, to kids, to teenagers, and now to the young women that they are now... the nice thing about being an Evil King is that you don't age, so I was lucky to see them grow." Linda says. "Yam and Mayx were as close as the Hanging Men are to the Hanging Tree. They did everything together, and they always protected the other, like a real Yin and Yang. You can argue that neither really have hearts, but they love each other and those around them. You can see it in their talents."
"Its a way for them to talk without saying a word, their talents, I mean.." she continued. "When Mayx was home for that short time, whenever she sang, I could always feel their images spread through her being. Her own special aura was calling out 'Friends, I miss you'. And now when Yam dances, her aura cries 'Sister, where are you?'. So, please don't mistake Yam's sarcasm as uncaring. She spent the time since Mayx left in constant training. I even thought I saw her use a..." Linda cuts herself off, shaking her head and smiling. "Never mind."
Riku is touched by Linda's words and Yam's devotion to her sister, though he can't help but wonder what it was that Yam could supposedly wield. After talking it over with Stan, he, Sora, and Kairi are allowed to take Yam along with them as they try to fix the mess. However, before they go, Stan says that in case of an emergency, he has to contact them through one of their shadows. After an unusual contest to chose the best shadow, Riku wins and Stan inserts part of his shadow form into Riku's shadow. Yam is not pleased.
The four then leave on their adventure, fight Organization apprentices, and visit many other video game/anime worlds along the way, such as Okami, Legend of Zelda, and Final Fantasy: Unlimited. We also see parts of the Organization's past lives through the eyes of the apprentices they left behind.
Sooo... has it been done?
