I have a strong love for the ancient Kemetic (Egyptian) faith an thusly a strong interest in the study of their cultures. From books like 'Eden in Egypt', 'Concepts of God in Ancient Egypt', 'Myth and Symbol in Ancient Egypt', 'Introduction to Ma'at Philosiphy', and video documentaries "Ramses: Wrath of God or Man?", "Egypt Uncovered", "Nefertiti Ressurected", Egypt's New Tomb Unvieled", etc. Anyone else hold an interest or hobby Egypt-related?

Ever since i was a kid, i wanted to be an Egyptologist. Howard Carter's expedition especially fascinated me. i'm still fixated on it. i have lots of Egyptian stuff in my room, including a papyrus notebook, little statues of Anubis and Bast, and a small sphinx.

I absolutely love the ancient Egyptian culture, at least what we know about it. I couldn't begin to list my book collection, we have are over 100. We have paintings on papyrus, several modern repo of statues of Gods & Goddesses, a repo of Tutankahmun's gold death mask, it's beautiful..., I have a Bes (God of drinking and also protection, paticulary to pregnant women) that is supposed to be authentic to the 20th dynasty (Kinda have my doubds, but he sooo cool.) I guess we have a collecting habit. I love reading about the warrior Pharaohs the most: Thutmose III, Rameses II & III, Seti I, Amenhotep II. Their religion fascinates me. Thoth (Djhuty) is my personal favorite, God of wisdom, time, writing, patron to the scribes. I could go on and on, but I think I'll wait to see if anybody actually wants me to... wink

"The Western Lands" by William S Burroughs is based off of the Egyptian Book of the Dead and is a pretty interesting read.

i love the old egypt, i am learning the hieroglyphs (english spelling?) now, it's really fantastic when u know at least what letter the sign is (or could be cause they have morethan one meaning) and actually the religion of the old egypt means more to me than being a christ.

I love the study of all ancient civilizations, but I have a soft spot in my heart for Ancient Egypt and Ancient Assyria. I think that maybe I have a lot of past life issues there or something because I have loved the study of Egypt since I was very small. Cleopatra, by the way was an Egyptian by the means that her family had ruled Egypt for about four generations. Her linage was Macedonian Greek. There was no Egyptian genes in her bloodline. Her family came to rule egypt when Alexander the Great died and his kingdom was broken up and given to his generals.

I spent about seven years of my life wanting to be an Egyptologist, and even longer studying the Egyptian culture. Sadly, I diverted from it a few years ago. I still love it, and would give my left leg to be able to go over there and study it at it's source. Probably my favorite story was Nefertiti's. The story I know best, though, is Cleopatra's. That's what happens when you study it on your own time, and then school gives you tons of essays to do on it as well. Ah well, Ancient Egypt is probably the most fascinating ancient culture to me.
