OK, so, im Unitarian. any idea what that is? I'll tell you. it is the religion that rejects the ideals of Christians because they belive that anyone who doesnt belive in "their God" is doomed to eturnal damnation. No one seems to know what Unitarianism is! Did you know that many famous people are/were Unitarian? for instance;Thomas Jefferson, John Adams.John Quincy Adams, Clara Barton, Mallard Fillmore, and William Taft. Every Christian I tell my religion to trys to convert me! Is it OK that I have my own religion?!?!? Am I wrong to belive something other that you?!?!

no it's not a problem if you have your own belief system. I was raised catholic, but i am not an advid church goer. infact i choose to avoid it at all possible. I consider myself a spitualist. I believe that each religion has a unique take on the concept of religion and there are many points that each believe i believe as well. to the point, i believe that there is a god or gods, if not multiple deities. I believe in spirits, in all things having spirits and in all things being in part of a greater whole. I even believe in the concept of the earth having a spirit, "Mother Nature" "Gaia" ect. even in the concept of atheism that says there is no god, i believe that something beyond the concept of what we can understand created us. if someone says my beliefs are wrong, i can honestly tell them that i understand there religion, i just think it is part of a bigger whole.

Wrong. Wrong on multiple levels.
First:
Unitarians reject the concept of the Trinity. They do not buy into the "Father, Son, and Holy Ghost" as set forth by the Council at/of Nicea in, I think, about 300 A.D. They do not spit in Christians faces over the issue. They ARE Christians, who just don't happen to believe he was the son of God. Savior/Messiah, yes, deity/demi-god, no.
Second:
Universalists reject the idea of eternal damnation. But are still Christian. They refuse to believe that any benevolent creator would willingly subject its creations to suffering for transgressions that can easily be forgiven (by the creator).
Third:
Your post shows far too much anger, and should be reconsidered if you wish to be taken seriously. Otherwise people will only think you are a whining child who either wants attention, or wants confrontation (the bad type of attention).
Fourth:
Yes you may have your own religion, just be sure to call yourself the correct name and actually understand the tenents of that faith.
In short, your post was incorrect and excessively angsty... you must have meant to say you were a Universalist. Obviously I do know a good deal about what Unitarianism is, as well as Universalism, and Unitarian Universalism...
Yes you may have your own religion, and you are not wrong to believe Something different.
Have you even tried understanding why they try to convert you or get upset with you?

Unitarian? what about "whoever will not stand for something will fall for anything"? that sums it up for me. here are random jokes from the UU joke generator: UUs address prayers, "To whom it may concern." A devout Christian was arguing with a UU about the existence of God. He said, "Ok, just prove there is no God." The UU quipped, "You can't prove there is no God - you have take it on faith" A visitor was asked afterward how she had liked the Unitarian church. "That was the damnedest church I ever went to," she said. "The only time I heard the name Jesus Christ was when the janitor fell down the stairs" What is the meaning of Easter for UUs? Easter is when Jesus comes out of his tomb, and if he sees his shadow he goes back in and we get six more weeks of winter. http://stoney.sb.org/uujokes.html

I love unitarians. On a whole I have found them exceedingly friendly and open, at least in my area. If i actually went to church, I would probably go there.

man...religous fights are fun biggrin i myself am jewish, so most people just ask me for money XD i can sympathize why you might be angry, but to prove or even have someone ELSE prove what you are saying, you must put your thoughts, theories or ideas forward in a clear, consise way. like my horrible spelling lol i haven't much to say, i merely wan to sound smart. i had never heard of unitarian until now, so there is not much i can offer... i wouldnt convert you though, I myself being jewish, understand being oppressed XD later smile

I'm a Christian but I try to be open-minded about everything. That includes: not converting others (unless they personally ask me something about my faith), not blocking out other's beliefs (I find them interesting), and being friends with anyone (homosexuals, people of different religions, etc.). So, well, I don't agree with you religion-wise, but I don't see how that's a big deal. wink

no human has a wright to judge on religion in any form /we as humans make the mistake that my religion is better than yours and it is not god is god no matter what or how you worship or pray to him /only god has a wright to judge and if we as humans would except and respect each other views of religion we as humans just might end up happy with each other rather than kill and destroy each other heart
