Look Away From Me
I don’t want you to see what I am.
Hiding from the light is my fate to carry.
Why do you persist to see my face?
Do you wish to laugh and sneer for your enjoyment?
I won’t give in and give you my heart...
Ha! You want to be my friend!
Why should I believe you…your not like me?
No, you're like all the others chanting “Poor ugly child”
See I look at you and you pull away from my gaze!
Do you feel better? Do you see how lucky you are?
I hide these scars because they’re painful to others.
They’re my crosses I carry everyday for people like you.
My own blood caused this mark on my face.
Horrible isn’t it? Just look away from me!
Its bad enough you have already seen what you shouldn’t have...
I don’t want your friendship…I want to be alone!
Did you know I was always alone?
No one to care for me when I was young.
Abandoned by my family and my God, I still go on.
Forced to walk alone in these crowded halls.
You say you’ll forgive me for what I didn’t do...
If what you say is true you’re not really like them.
No…you don’t have to look away.
You accept me for me and I accept you for you.
Now I’m not alone to face my fears.
I have you beside me, but just don’t leave, please.
It’s a sad and lonely world,
Which I cannot face alone...

It reminded me of phantom of the opera and at the end how we become so dependant(sp?) on others once we know we're allowed to...

mainly, I'm thinking of the scene where he's a kid in a cage and does his first murder.
