Z3R0
Chapter 5

Justice and Zero were laying on the ground, both seriously injured. "Brother... Mercy is... strong." Zero said, laughing a little. Justice did not take his eyes off the sky as he responded, "Yes... she is. Evil will give you much power. That I know from personal experience. But it cannot make up for the real battle experience you obtain through years of living." As he finished saying this, The Creator walked up to the side of both of them. "You two have got to get better. At one point you were both stronger than Mercy, but now look at you." He said with a bored look on his face. "I might just need to remake you..." Justice said nothing, not out of fear, but out of resilience. Zero sighed and looked back up into the clouds. "Face it, Creator. You wouldn't be able to make anything like us again." He said with a confident voice. "You're probably right. But I am in the process of creating a little sister for you two. Since I just started it's probably going to take 20 or 30 years to finish, due to the fact that creating such things isn't as simple as one would like to think." He said, laughing a bit. "A little sister...? We don't need anyone else to protect." Justice commented. The Creator sighed. "A girl would brighten up the mood around here. Look at Justice. I created him with emotion and yet he doesn't show it. But I guess I did that so it'd make him seem cool." He said. "Emotions can destroy you." Justice said simply. "Agreed," The Creator said... agreeing with him.

Present Time - 50 Years Later

Justice opened his eyes after the memory had finished playing in his head. He had been ignoring the first few, thinking that they were not important, but now he was paying attention to every detail. He was in the forest, heading to the beach that the others were at. He appeared next to Hope, causing her to throw her arms up in shock. "Ack! Big brother! Don't do that!!!" She whined, hitting him on the chest. Justice got a little irritated and pushed her away with one hand. "Have fun swimming?" He asked, wiping the moisture off his hand. "Uh huh!" She said, quickly changing her attitude and nodding her head. Zero turned his head. "Yo. So how's Bushi?" He asked. "He's fine. Still alive." Justice responded. "Did he come in contact with The Dark One yet?" Zero asked, standing up and brushing some sand off himself. "Yes. He fought her as soon as I left. I decided not to interfere. Not yet." Justice replied. Legend glanced up at him. "You're giving such simple answers. Is something wrong?" He asked. "Mental conflict." Justice replied. "Is that so? It seems there's a great deal..." Legend said, reading his mind. "It's complicated. I know there's something I'm looking for that I saw 50 years ago, but I can't remember what it is." Justice explained, looking out into the sea. The Creator was still in the water, playing with random groups of people. "I don't think he'll know what you're talking about... his memory's not the best." Legend said, noticing Justice looking at him. "That's a shame." Justice said with a dull voice.

The Dark One had returned to a hideout that Mercy and her were staying at. She was in a world of pain due to the blow that Bushi had landed on her. "Damn him!" She screamed, knowing no one could hear her. Mercy opened up a panel in the ground and popped up. "Calm down. It's only Bushi. He's not even a former member of Justice's team! He traveled with The Savior." She said. The Dark One kicked the ground in anger. "So I just got owned for nothing?" She growled. A man appeared near the two. "Yo." He said. Mercy glared at him. "Who might you be?" She asked, licking her blade. "I'm Negative Zero, otherwise known as Nero. The Creator made me to ease his boredom and told me to come here." He explained. The Dark One crossed her arms. "He thinks we need help?" She asked with a hint of leftover anger. "Not exactly." Nero responded. "He just wants to get rid of his boredom, as I said before." Mercy held the tip of her blade to Nero's throat. "I think I'll just kill you right here and now. We don't need any help." She hissed, pressing the tip deeper into Nero's skin. He moved his foot and in a single fluent motion he was behind Mercy. "That won't do." He said, wagging his finger. "You see, there's something that is very different about Zero and me. Though we are complete opposites, I am stronger." He continued, his eyes glowing red. The Dark One still had her arms crossed as she asked, "Is that so? I see you also have a great bloodlust." Her voice was calmer than the last time she had spoken. "Yes, yes in fact I do." Nero replied, his arms limp at his side. Mercy glared at him. She held her hilt tightly and said, "I don't like you. You're just a simple creation who doesn't know what true fighting is." The Dark One looked angry again. "As if you're one to talk! I know more about battling and fighting than you shall ever know." She said coldly.

Justice and Zero had left Hope without her knowing. Zero looked over his shoulder and back at the beach before saying, "Who do we need to go see now?" He asked, turning his head back to Justice, who was clearly thinking very hard. "I don't know." Justice replied simply, not breaking his intense concentration. Zero sighed, determined to get an answer. "Then where exactly are we going?" He asked. "We're heading towards Sayago's grave." Justice replied. Zero looked at him in shock. "Why?" He asked with a quavering tone. "That is the sacred ground The Creator made to protect Sayago's memory! We can't go there!" He said. "Something from 50 years ago is calling me there. Someone, to be exact. On that day 50 years ago I met someone at Sayago's grave. What I was doing there, I'm not sure." Justice replied. "Could it be that you're the first to have come in contact with Sayago?" Zero asked, already realizing the answer. "That's not possible. You must of not of been properly educated on the matter of Sayago. You see, her entire being was wiped from existence. She was the one that helped Infinite, the fused form of The Creator and his old teammates, defeat Evil in the battle for Z3R0. The Creator was not as strong as he is now, so that's why he fused with his team. Sayago the Angel came down from the fabled Heaven of Z3R0 to sacrifice her angelic status and existence to use one last high powered blast of energy." Justice explained. "That's amazing. You really do know a lot, don't you big brother?" Zero said. "But then who did you meet at her grave on that day?" "That's the same question I'm trying to answer." Justice responded gravely.

The Creator had gotten out of the water and Hope had gotten back in. The Creator layed down on the sand near Legend, who was standing with his arms crossed and watching Hope. "I'm thinking of making a city in the sky." The Creator said suddenly. Legend looked down at him. "That actually sounds pretty cool." He commented. Legend focused back on Hope, who was playing with several young children. "You do realize that Justice and Zero have gone to Sayago's grave? I read Justice's mind before he left..." He said. "Yes." The Creator replied. Legend sighed. "But why would they need to go there?" "Because Justice is looking for someone he saw 50 years ago." The Creator replied quickly. "And who is that?" Legend asked, now interested in the story. "A while back when I was designing more creations and was alone, I tried to ressurect Sayago. This was very foolish, though I was adament that I could bring her back. So for years I planned in secrecy, not telling anyone of my plan, maintaining a calm facade. After 10 years or so I thought I had created Sayago. But something went horribly wrong. When I finished she was not the same. Her eyes were lifeless and she didn't seem to have any life in her. But the dimension began to crumble so I sealed her in the grave I had made for the original Sayago. I did try to erase her, but that didn't work for some reason. So now she lays in her grave and comes out only when someone foolish enough meets her there. As for the dimension crumbling... it's clearly been fixed." The Creator explained. "Very interesting..." was all that Legend could say after hearing such a story.
