The Chronicles of a Misguided Spirit.
The saga of my life; events, thoughts, etcetera.
This is How I Came To Look Like This
It was an abnormally cloudy day in feudel japan. I was ready for my training when my sensai was reported missing. The news struck my heart viciously, ripping to my very soul. I vowed that I wouldn't rest until my sensai was found. I volunteered to join the search party. Big mistake. We were split into groups of three. I was with the emporer's general and the cheif of battle regulations. Both were skilled in combat, but neither was bright. I on the other hand had a vast knowledge of melee tactics and meditation, but lacked the strength to fight alone. As we left for the search, I noticed an unusual sight. With my distinct memory of the land's geographical characteristics I found a differ in the pattern of trees in the eastern forest. The trees were moved. What ever took my sensai obviously wasn't going down without a fight. My partners were ready to face this being of pure evil, but I was having my doubts as usual. "This is never going to work, I'm just going to hold them back", I thought to myself. Then I remembered my vows.....now I was ready. The search began with each team receiving a map of there designated area. We got the southern coast. Peaceful yet destructive with its massive waves. We could only travel by foot. So we set off first. The southern caves were first to get through. Many demons lived there but mostly nocturnals. An easy trek that was. No-one seemed to notice the only cave that collasped. This time I didn't speak up. We kept on 'til the sun was setting and decided to make camp. We settled near the slight valley leading directly to the coast. The valley's steep edges and jagged rocks had my heart in knots. It was hard to sleep, thinking of the next day's journey frightened me enough. As dawn approached the general was awakened by the faint sound of a man's scream of terror. Its agonizing echo carried over the caves. The cheif was still partially asleep only awakened by the drop of sweat that fell of my forehead as I awaited his awakening. Moving slowly we trudged on. We arrived at the coast at about noon as it seemed. The blood curling scream still haunted my mind. Could it have been my sensai? The answer was yet to come. The ground suddenly tremered and a massive shadow arose from the murky waters. Its figure was hard to place but it was easily classfied as our aquirred target. Its jagged razor like teeth glinted in the overbearing sunlight. Pupil-less, dead eyes stared striaght at me piercing my inner being. I collasped as the monster was revealed to be a "tsunami soldier" as they were called. Structured muscles were easily spotted. It was as if the being was human. As I awakened from my sudden slumber I was caught in the midst of combat. Turns out the monster was evenly skilled with the general. Instnct made me grasp my katana. Unshething it brought attention to myself as the general looked back at me, his faced thoroughly scared from the fight. The monster furociously grabbed the general. In its clutches it seemed hopeless to watch any longer. I closed my eyes and listened to the general getting ripped to shreads. As the commotion died down, I look up. A blood stained battle field was the aftermath of this struggle. I cautiously got up and walked around. The image of the monster lurked in my eyes. As I scanned the image of the monster, I noticed an out-of-place item. My sensai's cloak was the exact same as the monster's. It was hopeless to keep up the search. The "monster" was my sensai. I fell to my knees at this discovery. A puddle glistened brightly in my face. I opened my eyes to see a new me. I had the ears of a dragon. I ran home vehemently. I kept to myself back at the village. In a week or so I noticed a gray-blue figure behind me. Slowly reaching behind me I grabbed what seemed to be a tail. Apparently the "monster" had curse me. I was slowly mutating into a dragon! The discovery shocked me but I saw an opportunity. I rushed to my sensai's house, abandoned. I ran to the back and grabbed my sensai's spare cloak. Putting it on I felt a burst of immediate power. I changed my outfit to better suit my newly found dragon characteristics. A mirror placed in my room, I watched as my transformation commenced. Not the dragon transformation, the transformation to a skilled warrior. My sensai was never coming back, but I kept up my training. I promised to make my sensai proud whether he could see it or not. To replace my sensai was my mission. To become him was my dream.

Awesome story, J. Some grammar issues, but the story line was amazing. I wonder if he/she accomplishes his/her mission. By the way, I realize you could be talking about you in this little ficlet, but I can't tell for sure. I can't wait to read more of your work. If you need any help or ideas, I'm your guy. Well, I'll see you later.
