Harleen Quinzel aka Harley Quinn, was a college graduate of Gotham University and was once a Criminal Psychologist. She interned in Arkham Asylum, and while there she in encountered a master mind, The Joker. Harley, willing and foolish, agreed to therapy session with The Joker. She spent months learning all of his tricks, past plans and enough to keep her safe, however, she would have never prepared to endure the truth The Joker had to offer. He told her of his past, his abusive father and all he had to endure. Harley feeling sorry for the man, soon realized true emotions, she believed The Joker was nothing more of a small child trying to get the world to laugh at his antics, and in return for her sympathy for the man she fell desperately in love with The Joker. However, one night The Joker had managed to escape and flee Arkham. One week had gone by of Harley living in fear for The Jokers well being... when The Joker was returned to Arkham. He was beaten to a pulp by the self-righteous Batman. Seeing her Angel in such pain drove her to insanity she ran clear out of Arkham Asylum and robbed the nearest Costume store and there on that night she became Harley Quinn.
To this day, Harley dedicates herself to her Puddin&#xu2;019, The Joker. However, the relationship is very rocky and is more abusive that loving. She is terrified of him but manages to remain infatuated with this psychotic homicidal man. In fact, Harley is much more of a lackey than a lover, and her attempts to receive affection from Joker usually ends up with her being tossed around like a rag doll. Despite her attempts to leave, Joker manages to draw her back in with comfort and affection. For her part, Harley will never truly be free of her love for Joker.
