Part one of "Animal Park"
The sun rose over the hills of southern California on one summer morning. The freeway was packed with truckers and kids on summer vacation. There, in traffic was a Camery XLE booming with music. Elita was sitting down on the passenger seat right by her best friend Melody. Singing as loud as her lungs would allow her, too My Chemical Romance songs. Elita was 5.3 feet, she was skinny, she had long curly red hair, and her eyes were a pretty leafy green.
Melody was shorter than Elita and a little chunkier too. She had short brown hair and her eyes were a light brown with a hint of purple in them. As the song came to an end Melody turned it off abruptly.
"Melody, I was listening to that." said Elita with a bit of annoyance in her voice.
"I know but, can't we just talk? I mean were going to the zoo for your birthday, which is today."
"Please, don't remind me."
"I don't see what the problem is in getting older, espetially since your turning 18."
"That's just it. You don't understand. Huh! it all starts when you turn 18. Your entire life is mapped out as soon as you reach that certain number."
"Oh come on! Huh, please try to have some fun while were there."
"All right, I will. Can I now turn the music back on?"
"Ya! Go ahead." said Melody ending it with a sigh.
The traffic was painfully slow and long. Finally they came to their destination.
"Here we are at the San Diago ZOO Wild Animal Park." said Melody with a little bit of enthusiasm.
"Yippie, I can hardly wait to get in." said Elita with a tint of sarcasm. they walked towards the entrance and walked inside the zoo.
"It's good that I bought that membership card." said Melody. "Ya, I guess so." said Elita.
"Oh come on Elita! Don't be a stick in the mud."
"All right!" said Elita as she sighed.
"I guess I'll try to enjoy myself."
"Ya! that's the spirit." said Melody, ending the conversation.
They walked through the zoo looking at all the animals. Taking photoes wherever they went. The day was almost over before they relized that they forgot about the lion exibit. They walked towards it as fast as they could. As they came close to the exibit they could hear the lions roars echoing though out the park. They looked through the thick glass and saw five beautiful lions bathing in the warm sun.
"Oh, how beautiful they are." whisperd Elita.
"I agree, they are gorgeose." said Melody.
Suddenly one of the male lions jumped down from a rock and walked towards them.
"Woe!" said Melody as she backed away from the glass.
"Cool!" said Elita as she stared into the lions eyes. Elita stood there staring into the lions eyes for a few minutes until she unlocked her eyes from the lions. She looked at her surroundings and saw all of the lions starring at her. Melody walked towards Elita and grabbed her arm. She slowly pulled Elita away from the glass wall, suddenly all the lions slammed themselves into the glass. A large crack appeared in the glass wall. Melody and Elita stood there staring at the crack, watching it getting bigger until Melody screamed
"Run!"
They turned around and started to run as fast as their legs would allow them. They ran towards the zoo exit. Lanterns turning on as they went. Finally they reached the bridge that was between them and the exit. Elita stepped onto the bridge and started walking across it one step at a time. Suddenly Elita stepped into a huge puddle of water making her slip into it, her head under a large body of water.
"Elita!" screamed Melody, staring out into the water.
Elita held her eyes shut unaware that she was drowning. Finally realizing what was happening, Elita pushed her head towards the surface. Breaking through the surface she breathed in the air allowing it to fill her lungs. She opened her eyes and looked at her surroundings. She saw Melody standing on a small cliff with her hands flailing in the air. Elita swam towards the small beach that layed on the bottom of the small cliff. She crawled onto the small beach and saw Melody walking towards her just before she passed out.
