Novella knew it was useless to argue with the boy. "What's your name?" She asked. Lavi sighed and pulled her along. She could keep up well enough but it didn't help her mood. "Lavi." He said. They arrived at the train station. Bookman bought train tickets for three of them and lavi shoved her onto the train platform. She glared. Lavi sighed. "What?" He asked. "I am going to be forced into becoming an Exorcist. And no one seems to care about my feelings on this." She said jerking her arm out of his grasp. Lavi made no attempt to get her back at first. He managed to get her back and gently forced her to sit down. "No one does care. I'm sorry but you have no choice." He said grabbing her arm again and sat down next to her. "You don't sound sorry. At all. In fact I'd say you don't give a damn." She said coldly. She looked out the window and pushed back the tears that came to her eyes as the train started to move.
She pushed her hair out of her eyes with her free arm. She was noticing what she was wearing. Her skirt had been burned to a point were it barley covered her. Her shirt had been torn half off, reveling part of the shirt she had on under it. Thin and see through. Her face was streaked with dirt as well as her hair. 'My cat...family....and my home...' She thought as tears came to her eyes. "I hate you. And I hate the place I am being forced to go to." She said crossing her legs.
"To be honest I do care. More than I thought I did. I can tell you hate me, but try to let that go." He said.
"Let it go? I have been dragged from my home to fight some war. My home and family are gone." She said choking.
"You'll harden up with time." He said. His grip on her arm lessened. She jerked it away and looked out the window. Bookman called lavi. "She won't go anywhere now come here." Said Bookman. Lavi went and talked with the old man.
"Leave her alone. She's lost her home and family, and we are dragging her away to a war she doesn't know anything about much less want to fight. Just let her cry. But don't let her run away." Said bookman.
"It doesn't matter you know they don't care. They will force her." Said Lavi.
"They may not care but that's no reason to treat her like that. Sit back down next to her when she's done crying. In the meantime go make the report." Said Bookman.
Lavi was a little surprised at bookman showing compassion for someone. Never the less he went and made the report.
Novella silenty cried in the seat. When she was done she wiped away the tears. 'How the hell am I going to do this?' She thought. After a while Lavi sat back down next to her. His expression was softer. Like he was actually sorry. The train slowed to a stop.
Bookman came up to them. Lavi got up and waited for the girl to get up to. Novella stayed put. "Come on." He said. "No. Hell no." She said bitterly. Lavi waited for the girl. It was clear she was dead set on not coming. "You said you'd come." He said. The girl had to admit that was true. She stayed still. Lavi sighed and slowly got her up. He got ahold of her arm and forced her off the train and onto the platform. The girl stared around. "What is it?" Asked bookman. Novella glared. "Think about it old man." She said.
Lavi sighed and dragged her along the streets and they came to the Order. Novella already knew it wouldn't be pleasant. She glared at the Order. "Come on." Said Lavi. He pulled her along and came to the underground waterway. Bookman got into one of the boats and Lavi followed taking Novella with him.
