Novella awoke still in Lavi's arms. She felt his hard chest and muscled arms. Lavi awoke a few minitues later. He noticed how close they were. He let her go and Novella moved. "I don't remember any of my friends and I ever having that level of intimacy." She said. Lavi gave a light chuckle. "I tried to comfort you. A hug does no harm." He said sitting up.
"True." She said. Novella felt a lot better. Lavi hadn't seemed like the jerk he was when he first met her yesterday. She felt at lot closer to Lavi, as if she gained a friend. A loud knock on the door interrupted Novella's thought process.
Lavi got up and walked to the door. He was still in his uniform only he had kicked off his boots in his sleep. Novella got off the bed and shoke out her tangled hair. She straightened her skirt. "Ah...Novella you have to go to basic training." Said Lavi. "Alright. Were do I go then?" She asked nervously. "Follow Allen." Said Lavi. He opened the door and the boy with white hair stood in the doorway with a kind smile on his face. "Hello. I'm Allen Walker." Said Allen.
Novella walked to the doorway. She moved her hair out of her face. She waited for Allen to leave so she could follow. Lavi gave her a light push from her back. Novella felt herself blush a little.
Novella walked out. Allen lead her up a flight of stairs and then down a hallway.
Lavi meantime was killing sometime and went back to sleep for a while.
Novella and Allen came to the third floor. The whole floor devoted to training. She heard some slashing and the sound of walls being kicked in. "This way. It's where all the new Exorcists come." Said Allen. He lead the way to a white room. Ten mats across and down.
A man in a white robe looking outfit appeared. His face was worn. And he was short. Very short. He had bags around his eyes that made him look like a panda.
"I will train you. Call me Bookman." Said the man.
Novella nodded confused. Allen left and she was alone with this Bookman.
"Do you know how to defend yourself?" He asked. He didn't ask spificly what she knew but it had a meaning she got.
"Yes. I did a little of Caporiea in the village." She said kicking off her boots.
"I see." Said Bookman. He flew a kick at her. The old man was fast. She ducked.
They continued fighting for a few hours. "I think that is enough." Said Bookman.
Lavi had gotten out of bed and went to eat. He talked for a while with some people. He thought he'd see how Novella was doing. He walked to the third floor still wondering why he had taken such an interest in the girl.
Novella ducked again and kicked the old man square in the stomach. The old man toke a breath. "You're doing fine. In a few weeks you'll be a great fighter. You can leave now." Said bookman catching his breath.
Novella nodded and put her boots back on. She walked to the doorway and to her surprise saw Lavi there. "Where now?" She asked. Lavi smirked. "Ypu'll have to get a uniform. And a check up." He said.
Novella hated doctors. Always poking her and prodding her asking questions. She cringed at the thought. He'd ask to many personal questions about her.
"Follow me then." Said Lavi walking away. Novella quickly followed thinking that she'd kick the doctor if he asked to many personal questions.
They came outside an office. Lavi opened the door and Novella followed. The man she talked to yesterday...the supervisor stood there along with a stern old looking woman. The woman grabbed her and pulled her behind a screen. "What the hell!" She exlaimed as the old woman told her to remove her shirt. "It's a check up girl relax." She said. Novella glared and did so. "Healthy enough...." The old woman began muttering to herself.
Novella hated being stared at, especially when she wasn't wearing anything. She quickly put her shirt back on. 'The thought of him in the room and this going on....' She thought blushing.
Lavi meanwhile was listening but not watching. He wouldn't stare at Novella's outline on the screen. It toke all his willpower but he didn't. Koumi went behind the screen and asked her some questions. She answered quickly. Koumi thanked her and went into a closet. He pulled out a pair of black shorts, and a black exorcist jacket. He handed them to Novella. "Your uniform. Try it on to make sure it fits." He said. Novella glared till they both got the message to leave her.
Lavi again tried not to look at her outline on the screen. Her curves showed even on the shadow on the wall in front of the screen. He forced himself not to stare.
Novella finished pulling the uniform on and zipped up the jacket. It clung to her figure. She pulled her hair out of the jacket. She came out and glared. "Can I go now?" She asked.
Lavi did stare this time. He noticed that she looked very...pretty in it. But then again he thought she was pretty anyway. The jacket was a bit like Lenalee's old one with the flared sleeves. Koumi handed her a ponytail holder. She put her hair up.
'Good God' He thought looking at her.
