"Once on yellow peice of paper with green lines he wrote a poem And he called it "Chops" because that was the name of his dog And thts wat it was about And his teacher gave him an A and a gold star adn his mother hung it on the kitchen door and read it to his aunts tht ws the year Father Tracy took all the kids to the zoo adn he let them sing on the bus adn his little sister was born with tin toenails adn no hair adn his mother and father kissed a lot adn the girl around the corner sent him a Valentine signed with a row of X's adn his father tucked him in bed at night and was alwas there to do it
Once on a peice of white paper with blue lines he wrote a poem and he called it "Autumn" becasue tht ws wat it ws about adn his teacher gave him an A adn asked him to write more clearly and his mother never hung it on the kitchen door becasue of its new paint adn the kids told him tht father tracy smoked cigars adn left butts ong the pews adn somthimes they would burn holes tht was the year his sister got glasses with thick lenses adn black frames adn the girl around the corner laughed when he asked her to go see Santa Claus adn the kids told him why his mother adn father kissed alot adn his father never tucked him in bed at night adn his father got mad when he cried for him to do it
once on a piece of paper torn from his notebook he wrote a poen adn he called it "Innocence: A Question" becasue tht was the question about his girl adn thts what it was about adn his professor gave him an A adn a strange steady look adn his mother never hung it on the kitchen door because he never showed her tht was the year father tracy died adn he forgot how the end of the Apostle's Creed went asn he cassught his sister making out on the back porch adn his mother and father never kissed or even talked and the girl around the corner wore too much make up tht made him cough when he kissed her but he kissed her anyway because tht was the thing to do and at three a.m. he tucked himself into bed his father snoring loudly
