A follow-up entry of OMG, I got a dual-monitor 5.1 surround sound computer. :D
I just realized I own two S3 Trio64 video cards. How I just now knew: I was in the basement setting up my triple-boot '90s machine in the Ubuntu 9.04 partition (and still irked that it doesn't play sound scream ), and finally decided to get a second sound card installed in the system.
I have two ISA-slot type sound cards, a Compaq Sound Premiere, and a Sound Blaster Vibra16XV (CT4170) sound card. After checking the computer for existing ISA slots-- and the PC does have them-- I went searching through my dated computer parts collection box for the Sound Blaster sound card... and ran into the other S3 Trio card, specifically the S3 Trio64v2/DX model. Coincidentally, it was a PCI-slot video card as well. xD It's a slightly newer model of the Trio64 series, and that's just saying something. It took me about five minutes to realize I had an extra one after remembering I installed the older S3 Trio64V+ model video card in the Dell Dimension 8200 just last month.
I most likely will switch the video cards in the Dell Dimension 8200, but since the danged thing is heavy, I probably won't do it right away. Also, although it will be interesting to have three monitors, I don't have the room to do such a thing at all. Two Trio64 PCI cards and a nVidia GeForce 3 AGP card in a 2001 model desktop computer. *ponders on that for a while*
