ok, so here is how it goes:

TKRs activate PLC gamma which cleaves PIP3 from PIP2, leaving DAG in the cell membrane which activates PKC which is another way to activates MAPKKK which activates MAPKK which in turn activates MAPK which is also known as ERK, which is a TF!
TKRs activates ERK though another method, where an adaptor activates GEF which activates RAS which then starts the MAPKKK system. RAS is inactivated by GAP!
(and i'm not even making this stuff up!)
