Mental Part 1
Sorry there are no indents for paragraphs, I'm just to lazy to put them! Enjoy, I have much more!!
“Welcome to Saint Justus Metal Hospital.” The lady in white tells a young teenage boy in a straight jacket. He struggled a little bit moving his arms, making the jacket slide around. “We will be starting you on medication in about three days.” She says with a slightly too happy smile. “Your doctor will be Dr. Jane M. Lowery. She is great with her patients. Lunch is at noon and dinner is at six p.m. Medication will be taken at four a.m. and seven p.m. Injection medication will be taken at eight a.m. and three p.m. Your room is number 856, there are no windows and an airtight seal on the door, please don’t attempt to break out. You will now be escorted out, and Dr. Jane will meet with you soon.” The boy was taken out by large men in police uniforms. He struggled again, but gave up knowing it was useless. The men dragged him into the room marked with perfect white letters reading “856 A.M” He was shoved into the room and the door was securely closed. He sits on the bed waiting.
Moments later the door opens and a young lengthy woman walks in with a clipboard and a white dress with bulging pockets.
“Hello,” she says with a beautifully attractive voice, “I am Dr. Jane; I will be your doctor. I understand that you have some anger issues and some other mental problems. I have specifically chosen several medications for you to take during your time here. You will have three injections and four pills. You will be taking the most medication out of all of the children here. The first two injections will be at eight a.m. and the other will be taken at 8:30 pm. And the pills will be taken at four a.m. The pills will control your anger and the injections will control your other issues. Medication for you will start on Friday. Three days from now.”
Dr. Jane got up and takes off the boy’s straight jacket. “Please set up your room, after you are done please attend dinner at 6. Have a good night I’ll see you tomorrow.” Dr. Jane leaves and the boy looks down at his small duffle bag. His arms are stiff from the jacket. His unsteady hands reach for the zipper and unzip the bag. He slowly unpacks the clothes into the rustic dresser that is covered in pads. Then he unpacks the electronics and other things at the bottom of the old bag onto the bed. His eyes move toward the clock that is so high on the wall no one would be able to reach it. 5:57 p.m. it read in digital numbers.
A woman walks up to the small door window and opens the door, “Will you be attendin’ dinner?” She asks. The boy nods. She takes the boy by the hand and escorts him to the lunch room that is three floors down in the completely sanitary elevator. She gives him a push when the door opens and he walks out into the quiet room. There are several nurses and doctors sitting around the young patients. He grabs a tray and a napkin and walks down the line of delicious foods. Dinner rolls, pizza, pudding, spaghetti, everything imaginable! He licks his lips a takes a bit of spaghetti and a slice of pizza. In the right corner there is an almost vacant table. A nurse sits alone eating her lunch. He sits down opposite her slurping his spaghetti.
“Hello,” She says nicely looking up from her food and latest “Seventeen” magazine.
“Hi.” He says.
“You’re the new patient aren’t you?” She says with curiosity.
“Yeah.” The boy says taking a bite of his pizza.
“So do you like it here?” She asks.
“Not really. I’ll be on seven medications starting Friday. Three are shots and I loathe shots.”
“Oh, I’m so sorry. I’m the councilor here so I don’t get to give any medication or soothing. Sometimes I wish I could hold their hands while they scream, or hug them when they cry. You kids are much too young to be in an institute like this. It’s hell for you all.”
“I agree but the food is wonderful!” The boy says finishing his pizza.
“That’s about the best it’ll get here, they’ll starve you for three days if you don’t cooperate. Amelia there,” she says pointing to a frail girl in a hospital gown, “is anorexic along with schizophrenic and she got pissed and they made her eat for three days.”
“Why are they so harsh?”
“Because they want you to learn a lesson.”
“Hmm… Weird methods…”
“So you have a few problems yourself? You have anger issues that are really bad and then that little something we aren’t supposed to mention. Right?”
“Yeah… Why aren’t we supposed to mention it?”
“Because no one but Amelia is aloud to talk about their illness.”
“Why?”
“Rules… They are posted in every bedroom, and –“Her voice trailed off as a bell rang. “I got to go sorry I’ll talk to you at breakfast, it’s anytime before lunch.. I come at five when no one’s awake. I’ll see if you’re awake in your room.” She ran out and left him sitting alone. He gets up and puts the tray under the “Dirty Tray” sign. The elevator lady comes up and takes him back to his room and bids him goodnight. She closes the door and he lays on the bed thinking.
