Loose Ends (3)
Loose Ends

With Spring comes a tender rose, blooming among knarled thorns

She is annoying, a total brat, a priss, and threatens to get her friend's pet bears on the lot of them.

( What kind of kid owns six bears? )

She is, in essence -- a glass goes flying, slamming into the wall and splintering into a million pieces -- a b***h.

( The remaining drunk runs off, scared successfully by Terra's violent glass smashing. )

However there is no way in hell Terra is kicking her out of the tavern. Why, do you ask? Terra has no ******** clue.

( Her name is Kaelin. )

The girl is an annoying mute with green hair, one of those kids who thinks she knows everything at age fourteen. A lot like Terra at that age, except with no drugs and too weak to hold up a fight.

( Sure as hell does she know how to pick one, though -- Terra knows, she's had to break up all of them. )

'Hey, are you incompetent?! Stop making such loud sounds in the morning!'

Terra has dealt with tough to handle brats before - a certain elf and doll come to mind - but this one, this one takes the cake.

( Especially since she can piss Terra off without even speaking. )

"I don't believe," Terra begins dryly, making a mental note to clean up the glass later, "You are in a position to tell me what to do." Her voice has an irritated shade to it, something that Terra inwardly tsks at. She is cool and mature, above getting irritated by some bratty fourteen year-old.

( Or so she tells herself. )

The girl gives Terra a glare filled with fire, her legs spread and arms crossed.

( How dare she belittle the all great Kaelin so! )

Terra snorts, a tall and imposing figure -- especially to someone as small as Kaelin. She isn't bothered by the glare at all, though she gets a weird sense of de ja vu by it.

'Whatever.' Kaelin writes, the word so utterly teenager that Terra has to bite her cheek to resist smiling. The small, odd girl whips around and storms off.

( Or as accurate to storming off you can get on crutches. )

It only takes a few seconds for Terra to notice Kae dropped her pencil, and despite herself she picks it up and follows after the girl.

( Or maybe just to add a few more scathing remarks to put her in her place. Though Terra would never admit that. )

Her boots are silent against carpet, and she finds herself falling back as Kaelin enters Nixie's room. Despite herself she doesn't enter the room, simply peering in through the small crack as Kaelin leaves the door slightly ajar.

( If she hurts Nixie Terra is kicking her a** out of the tavern, morals or none. )

The girl is trembling in a corner of the bed, hands covering her eyes and legs folded up in front of her. She's peeking through the crevices between her hands in typical curious Nixie-fashion though, and her trembling eases up a bit as she sees Kaelin.

Then Kaelin is drawing, doodling out the scene Terra was in in a purposely comical fashion and writing strange symbols -- Terra should know them, for some reason she thinks -- and turning the pad to Nixie.

The young girl's sweet face brightens and she opens her mouth to let out a soundless giggle, making an endearing smile appear on Kae's face as well.

Terra doesn't say a word as she steps away from the door, allowing a small smile to worm onto her face as she goes to get a dustpan and broom to sweep up the glass. Maybe there is more to this brat than huffy breaths and a tilted nose.

( Yet Terra can't shake off the feeling there is something strangely fishy about this girl. )

A/N : Bad puns are bad. :'D Probably to be continued~!

// your writing style changes so much face!

All ghosts had to be sent on, it was part of the cycle of life, or whatever strange soul cycle this ghostly society believed in (which outwardly resembled medieval Japan for an unknown reason).
Okay, so maybe half of them were armed-to-the-teeth, mystical warriors hundreds of years old who retained the vitality of people under thirty, and maybe peoples swords could turn into various different items- similar to a personalized penknife which could become a spoon at will (A deadly spoon).
That was no reason not to feel accepted.

I mean, he used to be wizard, for goodness sakes.
Magic and epic battles should have been somewhat second nature.
But then, something was strange about this one, they said.
His little penknife abilities literally made a pen instead of a knife, and they all quietly grumbled about their little witch prodigy's bad choice of friends.
He would deny ever being her friend- based on the multiple stomach stab wounds he still retained.

Looking around at the ghostly scene again, there's something profoundly out of place.
You might notice that there are no animals.
    Where do animals souls go?
    Why, somewhere else, of course.

Which might have explained why he felt more than a little out of place.

    God. Freakin'. Damnit.
