Behind those big eyes
lies truth deep inside
knowing the pain of hurt and loss
yet a glimmer of hope resides in them
a smile plastered over her face
to show she's not in pain
She knows her prince will come for her one day
So she acts strong and tough
never letting the world know her true pain.
her hand shakes another
a spark inside her ignites a flame
her heart burns with desire.
has she found her prince?
only time can tell.
she approaches him eagerly
he feels the same
years pass and her eyes no longer hide a pain
the glimmer of hope now envelopes everything
a sparkle on her finger
a white gown in her future
as more time passes
her hope turns to happiness
A bump in her belly
2 small souls inside
the seasons change her children now graduating
she is content her children all grown up. she lay beside him.
their hands touching like before
she listens to the beeps getting softer and slower
until a final beep then a long unchanging note
Followed by a second one
a unison of two unchanging notes
forever staying in the minds of loved one.
