today is labor day its funny how a holiday dedicated to the workers movement has become entrenched in rampant consumerism a history painted over in star-spangled strokes a portrait of Freedom, the individual clambering above his peers dreaming of dominion
we sell ourselves to masters who owns you? whose land do you live on? whose water do you drink? whose air do you breathe?
privileges are purchased in small increments branded Freedom but what is the cost of living when your pockets are empty?
every day i work in the meaningless market of convenience service with a smile rented out for a minor fee
the customer is always right some abuse is only to be expected minimum wage cannot pay the cost of dignity
i can see the tanlines on my arm where my uniform begins
i am so tired but industry never sleeps if i stop to rest will it catch up and consume me?
