People Say Time Heals All Wounds

People say, that time heals all wounds,
That crying will numb you.
I don’t want to be numb,
I want to feel love,
Warmth,
Protected,
Time cannot give me that.
Only you can
Your strong arms,
Feeling like home.
My other love has left me,
Cold,
Exposed,
But it wasn’t his fault that he died
People told me to put him behind me,
Leave him in my past,
But it hurts.
It hurts too feel the emptiness,
Where his love used to be.
You came,
You saw my shattered heart,
And didn’t tell me to forget,
You told me to remember the love.
Because you knew the truth
It doesn’t heal,
You only get used to the pain.
And forgetting won’t help either,
But…
Remembering the love
The love you said you’d give
In the future
The love you give me now,
The way you held me when I cried.
You picked up the pieces,
You healed me
Not time.
