Slowly I came back to my senses. The feeling regained in my virtually lifeless body and I felt the legs of two bodies on which I was placed upon. I also felt the constant acceleration and deceleration of a vehicle in which barricaded me from any chance of escape into the outside world. Gradually I opened my eyes and attempted to glimpse what surrounded me through my eyelashes. I noticed the beige interior of some sort of immaculately clean, luxury car that carried me and three others, including the driver.

There was a sigh from the person occupying the drivers side as the car came to a halt and slowly went back to motion. I allowed my body to completely relax and follow the motion of the vehicle.

“Master, when is we arriving at de house?” I felt the body at my feet reposition slightly as their illiterate words came out in an uneducated slur.

The man controlling the vehicle sighed again, “Look, we will be there as soon as we can, this damn traffic is absolutely murderous!”

I gasped. Well, not really, I gasped inside. The voice of their supposed master was a voice I knew all too well. Though it would be nice to say I had always predicted the “Masters’ true inclinations, I quite definitely hadn’t.

My mind raced as I reviewed everything I had ever told my supposed ally. Automatically, all of the deepest secrets of conspiracies within our world, of which I had uncovered single handedly, flooded back to me. I had intricately explained almost all to my comrade, though I kept the especially dangerous ones to myself. I wouldn’t feel right to endanger some one else’s precious life with trivial facts. My brain could not wrap itself around the fact that throughout this extensive time, I should have never trusted the boy I grew up with; the boy that basically raised me.

That boy, who had now become a man, was sitting in the driver’s seat, driving to my uncertain, though certainly cruel, fate. I lifted my eyes up, peering through my lashes and into the rear view mirror, where his face was easily seen. I studied it for a long second, taking it in; taking in all of the betrayal and dishonesty. My chest felt tight as he looked into the mirror, his eyes locking onto my face as he said, “I already regret this, this horrid thing I must do. However, like the cleaning of skeletons in ones closest, I must clean out the biggest skeleton of my life. It is unfair, the tormenting He puts us through to strive for sainthood, utterly unfair.” He sighed again.

A tear escaped my eye. He was right. He had to get rid of me, I was tarnish on his otherwise spotless world.

Pandemonium erupted as the thug noticed the stray tear that had escaped my carefully guarded barriers. Inevitably my liveliness was discovered and the cold needle point slid easily through my skin and the silky fluid was then released into my blood stream. I felt my body react again to it, this time slower than the last. I stared into the rear-view mirror, now my eyes open wide, into the face I loved until my consciousness slipped away into a black abyss.

The eyes that looked back at me in the moments before I was plunged back into my own bodily cage were a mirror to my own, as were most of the features surrounding those eyes as the eyes that looked back at me did not belong to just anyone; they belonged to my masculine duplicate; my twin brother.
