Chapter Seven
At Magische village
Three girls ran down the street douching the people in the market. A boy chases after them laughing; they ran into the forest along side the river. Laughter fills the air as the boy slows down to catch his breath. He stops for a while taking in deep breathes of the air. A scream scatters the silence forcing the boy to run for the girls.
Using his power of speed, he runs fast enough to get to the girls. He found them standing near a tree looking at a strange object. “Tony what kind of staff is that?” one of the girls asked. They have seen that kind of staff design, but they have never seen the language on the wood. As they stare at the strange object, Tony points to the sky.
“What the heck is that?!” They all look to see a human in the air. Tony puts one of the girls on his back as he ran back to the village, getting help.
In the air
Zauberei had trouble flying, since it is her first time at it. She could feel her inner strength ready to fail her at any time. She knows it’s a bad idea to fly over the river, since she can’t swim, but the river will lead her to the village she needs. Zauberei soon feels dizzy and tired. She flies a little bit longer before the river rushed up to her.
Back on land
A group of the villagers and the mayor followed the children to the river. The other ones still looking at the staff screamed as the human fell into the water. The mayor ribs of her jacket while pulling her hair back, “Conner get the children back to the village, while you two get the blanks ready for the girl.”
They nodded as the mayor jumps in the water. She uses her magic to turn herself in to mermaid. She swam deep into the water searching everywhere. Soon she found the girl unconscious sinking deeper in the water. She grasped the girl by her shoulder and arms and pulled her to the surface. As soon as the men spot them, they helped bring the girl to land and help get her to the village.
In a villager’s room
Very slowly, Zauberei opens her eyes to a warm bed and in some dry clothing. She looks around for a while seeing a peaceful atmosphere. A little boy is caught from the corner of her eye. Zauberei turns to see him staring at her staff with curiously. She gets up from the bed sitting on the edge watching the boy getting frustrated. He is having trouble reading the spells language. Zauberei spoke softly to him, “That is the spell for courage.”
The boy jumps two feet of the floor spinning around to face her. He finds her crouch on the floor on her knees. She watches as is eyes grow big with water bubbling up, “I didn’t touch it I swear,” He cried. Zauberei smiles as she rubs his fine black hair. “Hey, it’s al’right,” her voice calms him down. He thought of her voice was a sweet as honey on your tongue.
“I won’t get mad if you touch it. It makes me happy to see others who are interested.” Zauberei finishes, as the boy wipes his tears way. He takes another glance at the staff before asking her a question, “What kind of language is that?” He points towards the simples on the wood. Zauberei places the boy on her lap while thinking of the right words to say.
“That is the old language that was use when De Magie was still living,” She explains. She hears whispers near the door of the room. “I can tell you some stories about De Magie if you want, and would your friends like to hear?” Soon a boom of laughter crossed the whole room as the children sat around her listening about Zauberei’s mother De Magie.
10 minutes later
The mayor walks down the road heading to the house where one of the families took in the girl who fell in the river. She can still remember how they found cuts on her sides where the rocks in river got her. There they watched as the staff’s sphere glowed bright spinning in a circle.
Then it left its place hand hovered of her wounds. They watched in amazement as the wounds healed and the sphere return to its rightful place. She shook the memory away, while catching a fruit that fell from the basket. The mayor is bringing some food for her. She might be hungry since all that flying. She walks through the entrance door to find no site of the parents, but a gentle voice telling stories.
The mayor walks in the patient’s room to see the village children listening to her tell stories of De Magie. “Well, I guess you young ones meet our guest before I did?” The mayor spoke. She watches as their little heads turn to see her standing at the door with fruits. One of the little girls gets up and takes the bowl of fruit to their guest.
Soon the mayor is able to get the children out of the room listening to them whine, wanting to stay with her longer. They shake hands greeting one of each other. “Hi, I am Agua Pronfunda, mayor of Magische village, daughter of the water magic.” She creates a liquid sphere in her hand. “Nice to meet you, I am Zauberei, magician of magic, and daughter of De Magie.”
Zauberei points to the sphere on her staff. Agua grabs her arm with shock hoping that she is not dreaming. “Are you really De Magie’s daughter?” She whispers to Zauberei. She nods as the mayor melts on the inside.
“My family of water has been a great friend of magician; I just never thought I would get to meet the head daughter of the family!” Agua proclaims. Soon she tells Zauberei about their family working together for many centuries until the Great War of magic and dark. Zauberei listens as she compares De Magie’s story to Agua’s.
So far the stories are the same except that Agua adding in all that her mother never knew. “Well instead of just sitting around listening to me, why don’t we go out and check out the village,” Agua pauses a moment. “But first, we should get you a clean pair of close to wear.”
Zauberei looks to see herself in men’s sleep wear. The shirt was way too big for and the pants were kind of baggie. “So Agua, do you allow other villagers from the other villages to come to visit this village?” Zauberei ask as she puts a gown that the mayor gave her to barrow.
“I allow anyone to come into our village who respect us and our kind and is not a threat to us.” She answers. Zauberei looks to see Agua fiddle with a piece of cloth, “But, we do allow dark magic to hang around the area, long time ago. Last time when it was in our village, it took most of our children with him.”
She sighs, while turning to see Zauberei dress and ready to go. Zauberei step forward to her giving her a handkerchief to wipe away her tears. Zauberei spoke, “The past will be the future…” Agua finishes her, “But the future can change the past.” Those were the quote De Magie made.
