Trust?

• Description: I decided to submit this to get other's opinions. It is a little poem I wrote from the point of view of an rp charachter who is falling in love despite the fact that she has been hurt so much in the past and can't possibly expect good things to happen to her. Can she actually bring herself to trust? I suppose that remains to be seen. Still here is the poem she wrote to help deal with some emotions. :)

Never forget, how can I ever forget
the pain that life has thrown my way
I stand here with my broken memories
like it or not they're here to stay

Never forget, how can I ever forget
the lessons I've learned that came so hard
the icy coldness that is life
its misery I can't disregard


And I think you've learned hard lessons too
And I'm sure you know that life is pain
And you think good things might come our way
And you know my hope is all but slain


Never forget, how can I ever forget
The way you want to be with me
Yet I'm a prisoner of my past
And life won't ever let me free.

Never forget how can I ever forget
With no reason to hope yet so much to gain
None can wash away the memories
Can you help me dull their pain?
