• We're so lucky
    To have what we have.
To be able to go to school,
    Learn History, French and Math.
    Crafts.
    We don't understand the facts.
    The abuse of all:
    Resources, money, rap.
    All their importance
    Pouring out like sap.

We don't understand what we do.
Don't understand what others are going through.
    The ongoing daily routes
    Taken without shoes.
    No small news.
To the people in the crews
Blasting guns, keeping drugs in their room.
We're out of room, out of food,
Out of help from the governmental cues.

    All the stuff we steal
    Water, rubber, aluminum, steel.
Some people think they have the skills
To change the world, as it reels
    Back into the past.
As it feels its way in the seal.
We crumple it up and throw it away.
    It's losing its appeal.

We're lucky to have a life.
Unlucky to have it end with a knife.
    A strike.
Lucky to find the might to fight
Without once thinking if it's right.
    We're losing sight
    Of the world's sinking flight.
    Stand up to the light.
    Continue the fight.

    As I stare outside
    See the cars flying by.
    Poisining our eyes.
    Our minds.
    Widening our thighs.
    We pay the enormous fines
For being a society with unforgiving crimes.
    Sour as a lime.
Not worth more than a dime.
We're lucky we don't need to serve time.
