• Lazily, I chew the meat from the bone.
The deed I have done is nothing but taboo.
As I wait for them to come to my home.
But still I will contently chew.

They come with their appointed authority into my keep
To find me over the body with an arm in my hands.
Strips of flesh dangling playful from my mouth in my sleep.
One gasps, one vomits, one pulls out those iron bands.

My slumber is heavy as they try to pull me from my dreams.
The corpse lay mangled and naked in my bed.
The haze leaves my eyes as I reminisce on her old screams.

They rip me from my comfortable den into the new morning light.
Like a lover gone to a new days work I leave her now only to thought.
Black pupils dilate as I am violently thrown into the back seat and out of sight.
I wonder if I was truly right, if I was then why had I not fought.
