Our lives are centered on a single memory
Of a time so long ago, when we were truly happy
I roamed the world and looked up to the endless sky
Now I'm trapped in myself, wondering if I'm still alive
So much possibility, Innocent and numb
Looking back I can't believe this is all I've become
I've walked alone for too long now
My head held down beneath the sea in which I drown
The numbness has long since worn
My innocence torn , I'm lost in the eyes of those I mourn
Too soon we are exposed to reality
Our pure heart is filled with profanity
The light in our eyes through time has grown dim
Exposing the darkness and pain held within
The endless sky has become an empty canvas
A graveyard for stars in the consuming blackness
A sign that all hope can be wiped away
With only age our life can fade
I've walked alone for too long now
My head held down beneath the sea in which I drown
The numbness has long since worn
My innocence torn , I'm lost in the eyes of those I mourn
"But the hope that one day I can see the world again
Through my own eyes is enough for me to carry on"

This, to me, speaks of the loss of innocence from child to adult, and I like how you go about singing it in a way that lets the two sides be known.
5/5 I really liked the contrasts. - Report As Spam
