The Avalanche
The pebble sat upon the cliff
Viewing all with seeming bliss
It looked upon the lakes and seas
And wondered at the earth and trees
Somehow it felt all alone
Though it was not the only stone
It did not know that it could speak
Nor did others just as meek
It never tried to speak aloud
And stood alone inside the crowd
One day it tumbled from its place
Down the cliff it rolled, it raced
It began to hear its sound
Echoing from all around
It shouted as it smashed in two
In the end its voice came through
Others now began to speak
Their voices flew, their voices reached
And no more were they all alone
Through the voice of a single stone
