Yay!! Chapter two!!! Huzzah!!!!
Chapter Two: The Wild Cat thing!!
“Munch! Munch! Munch!” Twitch… “Munch! Munch! Munch!” Twitch, twitch… “Munch! Munch! Mun—“ “Will you stop it?!?!” Shark yelled, smacking Lunei over the head with the sheath of his sword, making Lunei spill ramen on herself. “Ow!! Owowowowowowowowowow!!” she cried. Pohkii tackled Shark to the ground. “Don’t do that to poor Lunei-chan!!” she scolded him. Lunei had scooted far away from Shark and was picking noodles off herself and out of her hair. “All my ramen…” She muttered with a sniff. “Gone… Shark! I hate you!!!” she then burst into tears. Pohkii quickly ran over to Lunei to calm her down. “Shark, say sorry!” Shark pouted. “She was annoying me…” he muttered. “That doesn’t mean you had to make her cry!” she said between trying to comfort the poor wolf girl, Lunei-chan. Sadie, who had been sitting on a root of a tree, trotted over to Shark, than pounced on him, digging her claws into his arm. “Ow!! s**t!! Damn cat!!” Shark screamed, waving his arm up and down to make Sadie let go. “Serves you right!” Pohkii snapped, sticking her tongue out at him. She then turned her attention back to Lunei-chan and helping her get all the ramen off of her. “Don’t mind him, Lunei-chan… he’s just a big meanie…” she said reassuringly. Lunei rubbed her eyes. “It’s alright… it was my fault anyway…” Pohkii frowned. “No it’s not! You didn’t do anything wrong…” She said. Lunei shook her head. “Never mind… I’m gonna go look for some firewood… I’ll be back in a second.” She said, getting up and starting to walk away into the forest. Sadie stopped biting Shark’s hand and arm, then scurried after Lunei, jumping up and laying on her head. Shark whimpered, dabbing his wounded arm with a damp towel. “Mean old cat… that really hurt…” he grumbled. “Well, it was your fault. I thought you had some sort of honor code! What happened to ‘hitting girls is wrong’?! And you call yourself a man!!” Pohkii said, crossing her arms. Shark pouted, crossing his arms over his chest. “Well… I—“ “AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!” Pohkii jumped up and ran off in the direction that Lunei went, dragging Shark along with her. “Lunei-chan!! We’ve come to save—“ (I apologize in advance for the use of Furi Curi logic and for hitting poor Lion so cruelly… I regret it now u.u) “How dare you attack me you STUPID—“ Twang! “CAT” Twang! “THING!!” Twang! “—you” Pohkii got an anime sweat bead when she finished. Lunei had taken off her bat wing, which was actually a guitar, and was smashing it over the head of a man who was wearing a lion mask with fuzzy fur all over it and had cat ears. There was a spikey club a couple feet away from him. “Sorry! Ow! I’m sorry!” The poor little lion boy cried. “Uh… Lunei-chan…” Pohkii said worriedly. Lunei blinked, holding her guitar over her head and ready to smack the lion boy over the head again. “Huh? Oh… hi Pohkii.” She said happily. Shark’s eyes went bug-eyed. “Dude! That’s overkill!!” Lunei blinked and looked back at the lion boy. “Huh…? He’s still alive…” Shark slapped his forehead. “That’s not the point!” The lion boy had swirly eyes and had fallen into a semi-unconscious state. Lunei’s eyes went wide. “Ah! I’m so sorry!!” she cried, running over to the lion boy and hugging him tightly. The lion boy’s ears pricked up in confusion. “Wh-wha…?” “Please forgive me, Mr. Lion!!” she cried, hugging the lion boy so that his head resting in her chest. The lion boy’s face behind his mask went beat red. “Chuu…” Shark sighed. “Dirty-minded animal…” The lion boy growled. “Who’re you callin’ dirty-minded, old man!!” Shark twitched. “I’m not an old man!!… I’m barely 500 years old!!” There was a pause of silence before the lion boy spoke again. “Oh yeah?! How dare you talk to a king like that!?” he exclaimed. Lunei blinked in surprise. “A king??” she asked in amazement. “Really??” The lion boy nodded. “Yes! I am Lion! King of the jungle!!” Lion hadn’t realized it, and neither had Lunei, but Lion had taken his mask off and was burying his face into Lunei’s chest. Pohkii, however, noticed right away. She grabbed Lion by the back of his vest and yanked him back. “Don’t do that to Lunei-chan!” she scolded. “You’re embarrassing her!” Lunei blinked. “Wha…?” she had obviously been oblivious to it. Lion glared up at Pohkii. It was the first time they had seen his face. Lion had brown hair that flipped up at the ends and he had bright blue eyes. “Sorry about that. She smelled like ramen and being a lion with a keen sense of smell, I was inclined to… investigate the smell…” he said, looking away slightly with a faint blush on his face. Shark gave him a look. “I have to say you’re the worst liar I’ve ever seen…” he muttered. Lion rolled his eyes at Shark, than looked back at Lunei. “I’m terribly sorry I startled you, Miss Lunei. I was only curious at seeing such a… pretty lady…” he said blushing. Lunei blinked a couple times. “Oro… no, it’s alright. I should be apologizing… I mean… uh…” she stumbled over her words, trying to think of what to say. Lion shook his head with a wink. “No need to worry, my fair lady. I’m quite hard-headed so it didn’t hurt at all.” He said, trying to sound heroic. Shark sighed and poked the growing lump on Lion’s head, making poor Lion yelp and cling to Lunei. “Ow… okay… it hurts a little bit…” he admitted sheepishly. Lunei frowned a bit. “Come with us back to our camp. We’ll put some ice on that bump and give you some ramen… that is if you want to …” she said with a faint blush. Shark twitched. “We’re… bringing the best with us?!” he asked, growling. Pohkii glared at shark. “Don’t be mean! Lion-kun didn’t mean any harm…” she said, pouting a bit. Shark was about to protest, then sighed, not able to resist her pouty face. “Fine… he can come with us to camp, but he has to leave as soon as we start moving again.” Lunei whined. “Awwwwww, can’t he come with us??” she asked. Lion blinked in confusion at the group. What a confusing lot this was… “Uh…” Lion finally spoke up. “If it’s alright, I would like to go with you.” He said with a faint smile. Lunei grinned. “Yay! Come on, come on!” she said, helping Lion up and leading him back towards their camp. Shark growled faintly. “What does she think this is, a field trip??” he asked, sounding a bit aggravated. Pohkii rolled her eyes. “Come on, Shark…” she mumbled, dragging him off back to camp.
When they got back to camp, Lunei got herself and Lion a bowl of ramen, and got Lion an ice pack for his head, then they sat and they ate. Shark stood away from everyone, being the emo vampire he was. (Sorry, Shark-san >.< wink Pohkii sat with Lunei and Lion. “So Lion…” Pohkii spoke up. “If you’re a king, shouldn’t you be back at your kingdom?” Lion blinked a bit as he finished slurping up some ramen noodles. “Well, I’m training at this point… gotta be strong and all that.” He explained. “Plus, I’m looking for… a mate I guess you could say…” Pohkii nearly choked on her ramen while, once again, Lunei was oblivious to what was being said. “I-I see…” Pohkii said in surprise. Lion nodded. “Yes. I’m confident that I will find one!” he said, punching the air. “Well, it’s good to be confident.” Pohkii said with a nervous smile. Lunei blinked, looking back and forth between Pohkii and Lion. Lion glanced to the side at Shark, a suspicious look in his eyes. “So… how long have you guys been traveling so far?” he asked. “About a day now…” Lunei said, suddenly getting into the conversation. Lion nodded, still looking at Shark, then glanced at Lunei. “Hm, so where are you guys headed?” “To find the exit to the World of Insanity!” Pohkii exclaimed. “So that Lunei-chan can go home again!” Lunei blushed faintly. “Yeah… I feel bad about making you guys help me get home…” she murmured. Pohkii smiled. “It’s alright, Lunei-chan! We’re happy to help!” Lion’s ears perked up. “The Exit, you say? I know where it is!” he said with a grin. Lunei’s eyes widened in surprise. “You do??” Lion nodded. “Yup. It’s kinda far away, but I know where the place is in general.” He said confidently. “Lets just up you don’t have a crappy sense of direction, kitty-cat.” Shark grumbled. “I heard that!! Don’t you dare mock me, blood-sucker!!” Lion shot back. Shark twitched. “I don’t like you’re tone, cat. You have some nerve talking to me like that!” he bellowed. “Do you know who you’re talking to?!” Lion snarled. “I’m Lion! King of the Jungle!” “I don’t care if you’re the bloody King of France! There’s no way I’m listening to a punk-a** kid like you!!” Shark yelled. Lion growled loudly. “You’re dead!!” “Stop fighting!!!” Lunei yelled on the top of her lungs, which made everyone shut up, but she started coughing because she yelled so loud. Shark blinked in surprise, while Lion quickly went to her side. “I’m sorry, Miss Lunei. I got carried away. “ he said worriedly. “Are you okay??” Pohkii was at Lunei’s side too. “Lunei-chan!! What’s wrong?! What happened???” Lunei couldn’t answer. She was too dizzy. Everyone’s voices were becoming faded and slurred. Their faces were starting to become distorted until everything became black.
When Lunei woke up it was dark out and only the campfire lit up the surround area until the light faded into darkness. Lunei sat up, grabbing her glasses that were lying next to her and put them on. “Wha…?” “Lunei-chan! You’re awake!!” Pohkii cried, tackling her. “Ack! Pohkii, I’m glad to see you but… I can’t breathe…” Lunei gasped. Pohkii blinked and let go over her quickly. “Oops… Heh… sorry…” she said, a sweat bead appearing on her forehead. “It’s alright… don’t worry.” Lunei assured her, looking around the campsite. “Where’s Lion? And Shark?” “I sent them to get water. Hopefully they’ll put their differences behind them and’ll be friendlier.” Pohkii said with a shrug. “They were pretty worried about you…” Lunei blushed faintly to herself. “I-I see…” Pohkii smiled, then blinked, looking over her shoulder. “Oh, they’re coming back.” Shark and Lion came into the clearing carrying two canteens of water. “I told you! Spring water is the best for this type of situation!” Lion growled. Shark snorted. “I don’t see why where we got the water from is so important…” he grumbled. Lunei blinked a bit. “Oro…?” Lion’s ears perked up. “Ah! Lunei-chan!!!” he scurried over to her side. “Are you alright, Lunei-chan?? Are you feeling any better? I’m so sorry!!” Lunei blinked. Shark walked over quickly. “Listen, Lunei I’m sorry about earlier. I was out of line! So, I … well—“ “I’m really sorry!!” Shark and Lion both said in unison. They then looked at each other for a moment with a glare, then looked away, both saying “Hmph!” Lunei giggled lightly, both of them blushing furiously. “I’m sorry…” Lunei said between giggles. “Anyway, it’s alright. I just got a light-headed. I’ll be fine.” She said reassuringly. Lion blushed faintly and looked away. “Well… uh… I was going to say… uh… if our arguing bothers you… I’ll try not to fight with him as much…” he murmured, rubbing the back of his head awkwardly. Shark nodded. “I’ll… try not to fight that much either…” he said softly. Lion squatted down in front of Lunei. “But you have to promise to get better soon, kay?” he asked with a wink. Lunei smiled happily. “I will, I promise.” She said with a nod. Lion grinned. “Good girl.” Pohkii grinned. “Yay! No more fighting!!” she said happily. “Just don’t try to piss me off, cat.” Shark muttered. Lion twitched a bit. “Must… restrain… urge… to kill…” he muttered under his breath. Pohkii got a sweat beat on her head again. “I guess I spoke too soon, didn’t I…?” Lunei laughed a bit as Lion continued. “Now get some rest, Lunei-chan. We’ve got traveling to do tomorrow.” He said softly. Lunei nodded a bit. “Okay…” she said softly, curling up in her sleeping bag. “G’night guys… and thanks…” She then drifted off to sleep with the others starting to curl up beside her and fall asleep as well.
~~END OF CHAPTER 2~~
Woot!! Chappy two has been posted! Okay so it was a little more serious then the first chapter, but i guess I wanted to show a rivalry between Shark and Lion... considering their both named after animals first of all >> I just realized that I forgot to write the disclaimer for the first chappy, but Lunei is my character. As for Pohkii, Shark, and Lion, they belong to my friends of gaia. And the land of insanity... that's mine to XP Anywho, now to work on chapter two!
Ja Ne!
