Sam and Jackie. story by me.
Once upon a time...

Two twins lived in a house with thier father.

Their father wanted everything right and worked double time.

He acted like their mother and their father at the same time..

For you see, their mother had passed away when she gave birth to them.

The twins did whatever they did to please dad as he tried for them also.

Even if they were a broken family.. They all were always together.. Even at the dinner table.

They seemed unseperatable. Especially the twins.

One of the twins was Sam, and the other, Jackie.

No matter what, Sam and Jackie stayed together. Even if they were diffrent in appearence, Sam a boy and Jackie a girl.

They both loved their distinguished glasses and striped tees that made them almost like one, being side by side sharing thoughts even if they were not loud.

Life for them was secluded from the world because of how one wanted to be exactly like the other and one wanting things to be perfect for each other.

They wanted to sit side by side, everywhere and wandered together.

This pattern continued until one faithful day changed them forever...

The twins tried new things together, foods, hobbies, ideas.
One day they found something they both found a challenge:
Skateboarding.

"What is that?" Jackie asked Sam as he held the board up.
"It's a skateboard, Jackie." He said holding it up to the sun. He had spent all his time saving up his money and time to buy them both one, and he wanted to try it together.. With his sister.

They watched other kids do their tricks, hiding in their backyard to attempt to do things like that. Falling down on one another. Sam was better than Jackie but hid it not to crush her hopes on trying.

One day as Jackie was trying in the morning, she fell over and broke her glasses and her arm.
Sam wasn't even close to see but when he did he rushed to her side.

"Are you okay?" Sam said kneeling by her side. He took her glasses in his hands fragments of glass clinging onto the frame.

"Brother.. I'm afraid.. I think this is what you call pain." She said clutching her arm. They both never had to experience pain because of the conditions they lived in. One side by side, catching each other when one fell. But now.. It's a seperate kind of experience..

"I.. Don't understand.." Sam stampered. He grabbed Jackie and helped her get back into the house. Their father vaccuming the living room.

Sam had explained what had happened not leaving a detail, their father nodding listening to the story.

"So.. What about my glasses father?" Jackie asked looking up at him.

Thier father shook his head. "There's nothing we can do. Life is hard for us. All I can do is let you be without your glasses.."

"What about my arm?" Jackie tried to move it and winced in pain. Sam hugged her and patted her head though not hurt, shared the pain his sister had.

"I'll have to make you a splint and cast myself." He said taking out his car keys.

Their father made her a splint himself with cloth and pieces of wood from their old fence. Everyone noticed how Jackie looked and asked her about her splint. She could only be drawn to the crowd and replied that she got it from skateboarding. Amazed, the crowd accepted her into the group and as soon as she was healed, her change began.

Sam spent most of his days alone. He tagged along with Jackie's crowd staying who he was. Only to observe and miss that person who would share his thoughts.

One night, Jackie went to her brother's room. (He decided to move out of their room together since she wanted to bring all her new friends into the place, talking about boards and soon going to leave her from her stripes.)

"What are you doing here?" Sam said drawing a picture of her and him when they used to be almost the same. He was sitting on what used to be his skateboard but got broken.

"We haven't talked.. Sam.. You're so distant to me now. It's like you're another person. What happened to that brother who would listen to me? What happened to that brother who wanted to be by my side? What happened to that brother who wouldn't start arguments who'd-"

"Jackie. He's dead now. Just like the you you used to be. You know, I too have experienced immense pain... More than you know."

"Brother.. Did you break your arm? Like you did your board? Why didn't you tell me?! Why'd don't you tell-"

"No Jackie, that's not it. I feel this pain.. Right in here.." He pointed to his heart without facing her. He felt the hot tears drip down his face and onto that picture he drew of them.

Jackie stood there silent. She walked towards her helpless brother she had left for so long.

"It's okay I'm here.." Jackie comforted her brother and hugged him close to her. His body shaking in fear and pain.

"Don't touch me.. You're not here Jackie. You're not." He pushed her away trying as hard as he could to hold back the tears. "Why don't you just leave me alone!"

Jackie held him closer but he pushed her back. She only could watch her brother now sobbing for all this anger inside. She couldn't bear it as she left him sharing his thoughts for a short time now feeling that pain inside as she walked off. Crying with him.
