There in a town of light,
and of happiness,
resides a man,
who has none.

He can see the smiles,
but can not have them,
for as long as he is there,
he will never belong.

Down the streets,
across the parting road,
he can see a town of sorrow,
and feels the sadness of them.

There in a town of sorrow,
and of darkness,
resides a woman,
who has no despair.

She can see the pain
but she does not fear,
for although she is there,
her hope is safe.

Down the streets,
across the parting road,
she can see a town of love,
and feels the hope of them.

As time passes,
he sees her smiles
in a land of frowns,
and he starts to wonder . . .

Early in the morning,
he sets out on the road,
he parts the town,
and sets his sights ahead.

As time passes,
she sees his desire to be happy,
in a land of hope,
and she starts to wonder . . .

Late in the afternoon,
she sits on the road,
at the end of town,
and sets her sights on him.

Dawn arrives,
and they see each other,
they both smile,
as they realize . . .

She was his reason,
to be happy in another town.
and he was her hope,
she found in another town.
