“Well, nice situation. That key should be around here somewhere,” Alex said opening a dusty box, “Hazel how’s your search going?”
Hazel was looking at crates of things for it, “Alex, why would they even hide a key in the cellar? I mean….wouldn’t he keep it on him?” She asked dropping the lid on the crate. Alex lifted her head and looked at her with a puzzeled look. Then they felt a sudden jolt and it threw them against the ground.
“What in the world?!” Alex shouted. She got up and looked out one of the canon holes. She saw the sea passing by, Scagers Land getting smaller, and the harbor fading, “Oh no! Hazel we need to get off now!”
Hazel got up and looked at the door that they came in through. “If the ship is moving that means people are on top. We can’t move out there,” she commented. They suddenly heard the door open and footsteps moving across the floor. “oh no.” she whispered.
Alex pushed her down and underneath a crate, “Get down. Stay hidden, I’ll get caught so that way he’s distracted, you go find that key!” she whispered harshly. Hazel nodded and got all the way under.
Alex stood there pretending to be panicing. Then the two sets of feet appeared before the crate Hazel was under.
“So what do we have here? A thief?” Xay asked with the same smirk. Scar was standing there looking around.
“Hey where’s that other one you were with?” Scar spat and Alex cringed. She took a few steps back.
“She jumped out to go tell the others we’re here. So you’ll have our crew on your tail soon,” She said firmly, “Just give us the key back and everything will be fine. No one gets hurt,” She held out a hand expecting a key to fall into it. Instead a cuff fell around her wrist, “huh?!”
“I’ll take her to the brige, not like there’s anyone occuping it.” Scar said and started to drag her to the little prison on the ship.
Xay looked around and commented, “If you are here, I do have the key. If you want it, you know you’ll have to show yourself. If you try to be like your not, then your little band of thieves won’t actually know you’re here now will they?” He chuckled and left.
Hazel pushed herself out of the crates and glared at the door. She opened the cellar door slightly and peeked out. There were a few girls working on pealing patatos and talking.
“Well I hope that girl that Scar brought off to somewhere isn’t joining us. We seriously don’t need anymore people on this ship.” Kiwi said and much off a patato skin.
“You know that can’t be good for you.” Sound Bird commented. Kiwi just made the ‘you-know-when-I’m-hungry-I-don’t-care-what-I-eat’ face. Silver just laughed.
Hazel closed the door quietly. She started to look for another exit since the other one wasn’t going to work. She found a window by the back of the boat and crawled out it. She was now on the back of the ship where its title stood.
She looked at it and got an evil idea. She hopped back into the cellar and found a can of paint, a knife, and some rope. She climbed back out and started to try and change ‘Barren’ to ‘Mary’.
She didn’t even be able to begin to change the B because she heard someone say ‘boo’. She freaked out and fell upside down. She looked up from being upside down and saw someone.
“Well you know you can die from too much blood going into your head? Hehe, you’re the one I got the key from. I don’t think we’ve been to properly introduce ourselves. I am Captain Xay,” he said gesturing to himself then pointed to her, “And you may be?”
She got a crazy grin and said, “Like you said the person that you stole the key from! But formally known as Hazel. And can I have my key back?” she asked trying to get upright. He grabbed her hand and pulled her up.
“Well what does it go to?” He asked. “My music box.” She lied. “Highly doubt it. Why was a key to a box in a box?” “Because I’m weird like that.” “I still want to know what it goes to.” “My music box that is broken.” “Then you won’t need the key.” “Yes! It’s uh my grandmother’s that’s dead! Its a sacred treasure!” “You don’t even have a family, let alone a grandmother.” “How would you know?” “Hazel was a given name by some pirates.” “Yes, I had a grandma pirate.” She smirked. He scowled and said, “Well finders keepers, and unless you actually tell me what this key goes to, you aren’t leaving.” He dragged her up to the deck and she was put in the brige with Alex.
“What a fine pickle Hazel, a fine pickle indeed.” Alex spat.
“Oh get over it.”
