Prologue
___Demons and vampires fought each other for control over the other. The demons thought that they should rule the land. But the vampire thought of themselves as the rightful rulers of it. And so the war started vampires against demons. Know as the “Day Of Darkness“
___Blood was spilled and many lives where lost. Blood stained the air in the land it was carried on the wind and all the decay and turmoil caused the land to crumble and become foul with hate and death.
___The flowers, that once bloomed all over the land, shriveled and died from the poisoned air and the foul ground which held them. The grass turned brown and died. The trees of the forests lost there once beautiful, lush green leaves. The water in the lakes and rivers where poisoned from the dead bodies that where thrown in them from the after math of a fight.
___This caused the animals around the land to die from either sickness, and disease. The ones that learned from others mistakes
survived for sometime but eventually died of starvation because there food supply has died from the war.
___It is the age of the dark and everyone on both sides thought it would never end. But the fighting vampires and demons didn’t expect that a demon and a vampire would be the ones who would end the war completely.
Chapter One
___It was a fine day there was snow on the ground and a cool breeze in the air. Maylin was walking to the front of her new boarding school. She looked at the building that’s stood before her. “Well” she sighed “Here it goes.” she said a little nervous and walked in.
___She looked side to side saw the human students and how happy they they were. Maylin sighed and thin went to the main office and signed for her room key. She walked down the hall holding her bag on her shoulder and her drawing book in her hand. “at least I’m away from that war against the vampires” she said in releaf. Maylin was a high level demon the daughter of a high council demon in the Black Court, a court of demons where others of wrong doing are trilled.
___She looked out a window to see there was snow falling lightly on the ground covering the dark brown ground in a pure white blanket. She spotted a guy walk out of the forests edge. He wore a black silk shirt with a long tattered cloak the draped over his shoulders and drug on the ground a little. He had dark gray pants that had pockets on the lower legs also chains that hung from the waist pockets and connected to the leg pockets. His steal toed black boots has snow on them as he walked up to the school.
___Maylin walked away from the window and found her room. She looked her room over a bit seeing there was a desk that sat under a window. There where boring pictures on the tan stone walls. There were bunk beds on the left wall and dark brown wooden dressers on the other. She put her cloths away in one of the dressers and walked back out into the hall with her drawing book.
___She let her demon wings show as she walked down the empty halls. A person pulled her to the side out of the hall and into a class room. Maylin looked at him and pulled her arm from him “What do you want?” she asked.
___The man motioned his hands signaling for her to lower her voice. “You must hide your wings. If someone saw them you would be killed.” he sounded a little worried. She glared at him annoyed “I can take care of myself!” The man silenced her with a growl “don’t give me that s**t! They would kill u on sight if they saw you”
___She looked at the man and sighed “Ok fine” she said and placed her wings back inside her back. She walked around the school leaving the man behind. She found a window that had a perch big enough to sit on with out falling off.
___She sat down and placed her hand on the window the cold glass had no affect on her warm skin. “I wish I could go outside but father said its to dangerous so I have to stay in side” she sighed and took her hand off the glass.
___She took her book and flipped through the pages “ouch!” she said and saw she got a paper cut on her finger.The blood came out slowly and dripped onto the paper. The guy from before stopped out side standing under the window as he scents Maylins blood in the air.
___He appears behind Maylin and sees the blood on her finger. He looked at the blood on the page and the blood turned brown as it dries. Maylin sensed him behind her and wiped the blood off her finger and turned around to look at him.
___“Who are you?” She asked as she stood up. “I’m Maylin Lockheart” She looked at him up and down a bit. One of his fangs over lapped his lower lip as he smiled slyly. “I am Ryuk Ishitoma” he said both his fangs showing as he talked. He bows to her a little “it’s a pleasure in meeting you Miss Maylin.”
___Maylin nodded and said pleasure in meeting u too” she thin looked around a bit checking if there was anyone in hearing range. Seeing no one was she looked back at him and whispered to him “are u a vampire?” He looks at her and smirks “That I am” he pauses and stands up straight “Is there a problem with it?” he said a little annoyance in his voice.
___Maylin just smiled “Oh nothings wrong. It’s just that I’m a demon and all” she thought and picked up her book. “Nothing is wrong with it. It’s just you’re showing your fangs so easily that anyone can tell” she said to him.
___“Here is no reason I should hide them.” He looked at her his smile fades to no expression. “But for you, a demon, should watch yourself humans aren’t as scared as they used to be.” Maylin made her smile fade and turned her expression to a cold look as she said “Why do you care?” she turned around and started to walk away from Ryuk. “It seems odd for a vampire to care about a demon since we’re enemies,” she told him before turning the corner and walked on.
___Ryuk didn’t know how to respond to what she said so he shrugged his shoulders. He turned the other way and headed to his room which was coincidently the same room as Maylins. “This is my room I supposed” he opened the door, hung his cloak and laid down on the bottom bunk of the bunk beds. Not knowing she shared the room he fell asleep on the bed his hands behind his head and his silver hair covered his eyes.
___Mean while Maylin walks around a bit more and decides to go to her room. She opened the door quietly and saw him there sleeping. She walked up to him and looked at him “He looks so peaceful when he’s asleep,” she thought and brushed a few strands of hair from his face.
___Ryuk opened his eyes and looked at her “what are you doing,” he asked curiously. “Wondering why you’re here,” she said in a complete lie. She thin went over to the desk, placed her book down, and sat down looking out the window.
___He comes up behind her and puts his arms on either side of her, placing his hands on the desk in front of her. His face was close to her neck “this is the room they gave me and it’s a good one at that,” he said smiling showing his fangs. Maylin smiled and ask “are you going to bite me?” She thin placed her hands on his.
___Ryuk closed his eyes “I may and thin again I may not” he breaths softly on her neck and showed his fangs. Maylin thought of something and smiled “thin what if I do this?” she asked and pulled out a needle and pricked her finger and waved the small drop of blood in front of his lips.
___He takes her hand and licks the blood off her finger. “Why do you tempt me so?” he smiles at her. Maylin felt her face blush a bit and said “go ahead if you want. I won’t move,” she moved her hair away from her neck. Ryuk gently bites her neck still holding her hand in his. He drank some of her blood a small stream of it slowly ran down her neck and to her chest.
___Maylin softly bit her lower lip and closed her eyes. “You can bite me deeper and take more if you want to,” she offered him. Ryuk stops and licks the blood from her neck and heals it “thank you but I’m not as hungry as I was.” he smiles and lets her hand go and stands up fast as someone walks into the room. Maylin stood up and hugged her dad. “Hay dad!” Ryuk looked at her dad and her dad looked at him. “And who is this?” Her dad asked. “This is who I’m sharing my room with.” Ryuk budded in “what are you doing here anyway?” he folded his arms and looked at her dad with a smirk on his face.
___“To make sure my daughter didn’t get into any trouble.” her dad replied. Maylin sighed and said “Can I talk to you out side dad?” she drug her dad out into the hall and closed the door behind them. Ryuk stood there and leaned on the wall. “Why the hell is there a vampire in your room maylin?” her dad asked in a serious tone. “Dad. It’s ok. I can take care of myself.” maylin replied back.
___Ryuk listened from where he was his ears could here them clearly as they argued. “I wander if there is a problem…” he said with a small smile.
