PROLOGUE
Long ago, a peaceful land stood strong amongst the continent. It's armies were terribly powerful, and all of its people were living happily. Until, a mighty and dark force spread across the land in the form of a sword - Soul Edge. It was said that a fierce looking knight clad in Azure Armor wielded this demonic blade, bringing forth destruction everywhere he traveled. Soon, the once peaceful land grew desolate, and withered away. It seemed all hope was lost, and this land would no longer prosper, but then, a brave man took up the jouney of destroying this evil force. In his hand, he took up the "sword of eternal light", and vanquished the demon and Soul Edge. But, it seemed the dark sword's soul could never rest until it housed itself into another host's body. And so, the dark energy overtook the hero's own body, and his appearence began to change into that of a demon. But before the ritual was complete, he sealed away the Soul Edge's material form of that of a sword with the sword of light, and the pieces of Soul Edge scattered across the land. He gave one final swing of the light sword, and pushed it deep into a statue, a light piercing the sky as the cathedral lit up with dark energy.
The sword was forever lost, and the story of the hero was carved into the annals of history. This story was known as the "Legend of Soulcalibur".....
