Other pretty things -- the best of all was the lightning. I'm staying at an island beach for the summer, right next to the ocean. There was a storm on the mainland, and the lightning flashes across the sky like the heavens opening. Imagine seeing lightning brighten up the sky from miles away; you can see it clearly in the horizon because the ocean is completely open. It was the coolest thing I've ever seen.
More on the ocean, the water was very cold but we went swimming anyhow. It was all wavy and cloudy, so it was interesting to float on my back and look up at the clouds. The sky is open on the ocean, not blocked by anything. If that wasn't amazing enough, the seagulls were flying together everywhere and would swoop over our heads. 3D wings above the vision in flight...
The world is full of so many pretty things.
