Sure, Gaia is great and all, but when you can't find at least one remotely interesting topic in the General Discussion, you know it's a goner.
I have to say, I am really disappointed at Gaia for letting this happen. Then again, this does happen to all great sites if you stay with them that long.
Take Neopets for example.
I got an account on Neopets when I was... Nine, ten. Sometime during elementary school where I wasn't even allowed an email address of my own. I had to use my parents'. Anyways, it was great. Then I kept getting these creepy emails from men who were 40 wanting to cyber with me.
Dude, back then, I didn't know what sex was.
But, it scared the hell out of me so I stopped using Neopets.
Next site I got addicted to was this Digimon fansite in 6th grade. I met my first good online friend there (sadly, we've fallen out of touch) and I got to talk about my favorite anime of all time.
It was great.
But before long, some guy got the great idea of posting hentai pictures everywhere.
Some other graphic pictures as well.
Well, after that, the site closed itself down because no matter how much they banned the guy, he would show up and post more disgusting pictures.
