The early morning silence was broken once more by the squeals of cat girls, only this time, there was no fight going on. Instead, Koopa and Tina were giggling to themselves as they dragged a tired Zapook into the lounge.
Zapook yawned, "You know...I was kinda busy...Why don't you guys hit me up later on?"
"Because I gots a surprise!" Zee giggled as she dumped out an assortment of orange and black clothing.
Zapook stared down at the mess and glared up at her counter part, "And what the hell am I suppose to do with this?"
Tina cleared her throat, "Zee and I have been thinking. It seems as though we are behind in our Halloween plans, so we decided to go as our own theme! Jacklets!"
Zapook blinked a few times, "...Jacklets..."
"Heheh...yeah!" Zee laughed as she seperated the clothing, "I thought we'd use some make up and a few old pairs of jack clothing to go as Halloween Triplets. See? Each our own creature, yet with the same color theme."
"Frankly, I quite adore the idea. I was thinking of going as something...I don't know...More lovable then the run of the mill ghost or ghoul."
"You? Lovable? There was never anyth-"
"Finish that statement and I will turn into a naga and devour you alive."
"...Point taken. Anyways, Why don't you try it Pookie?"
"I really wish you would stop calling me that."
"There must be something you can put together. We have items all over the place to perfect our costumes..."
"And Tina has enough make up to deface all of Durem, so go for it!"
"Well...I was thinking a clown", Zapook grins as she holds up a pair of strange orange pants. " Like an evil clown."
"Clown? Doesn't seem like your thing."
"Well maybe not a clown...oh! Like a Jester! A possessed one!"
"Oh really?"
"Ya rlly!"
"Not now, hun..."
"Seriously?"
"Marly!"
Zapook and Zee laugh as Tina began to growl, "Will you two quit that! This is all in fun, yes, but act sensible for goodness sakes. Though, it is funny that you're going with a possessed theme...."
"Funny because I'm gonna be a jester?"
"Funny because I imagined being a living doll."
"That definetly works for you..."
"What of you, dear sister?"
"I'm not sure....somethin tough. Like...Like..."
"A reaper?"
"A demon?"
"A warrior maybe. Wait a minute...what the f...demon?! I AM a demon!"
"Idea!"
"Oh this I gotta hear..."
"What if we were to shackle ourselves until a few days before Halloween?"
"Ooo....I like that one."
"I thought it would be something fun to go with our little theme..."
"Sure it has nothing to do with your love for bondage?"
"Hehehe..."
Tina blushes, "Honestly! Grow up! I would never bring such a thing into a group activity with my family!"
"I dunno...your face turnin red says different." Zee laughs and points at Tina's blushing cheeks. Zapook joins in with a booming laugh.
"You...You two are such kittens! I can't believe I share a home with such infantile minds!"
"Fetish or not though, I like that idea."
"Same here. I'll go into Tina's room later and pull out her hand cuffs."
"Who said I kept such things in my room!?"
"Please girl, you ain't foolin' anyone. Oh, Pookie, make sure you get the ball and chain too."
Tina sat there, hiding her face in her paws.
"Now that this whole mess is settled, lets move. I gotta take Wolven costume shopping."
"That reminds me, I'll be taking Whiplash for a few."
"Oh? And Koopling too?"
Zapook quickly glances up at Zee, "What about Koopling."
"Seeing as how her scent is coming from your room, I figured you had her. So you can help her out too, right?"
"Uh...sure!"
"I'll take our cute little baby chick, Fluffles. She makes an excellent shopping buddy. Though I do hope she will not be as ...active...as last time..."
"Why? She didn't kill someone's pet again, did she?"
"One of those cute little monkeys, yes..."
"I'll get her for it later..."
As the three of them agreed on their plans, they retreated to their rooms. Tina stumbled a bit, as Zee looked back.
"You are ok...aren't you Tina?"
"To be honest...I am not quiet sure...I've been feeling a bit under the weather. But a nap should clear me right up. How about you? And those scars we found on your neck and shoulder."
"Itchy. Besides that, fine. Now I need to get into town, fast."
"That eager to get Wolven his outfit?"
"That and I'm eager to pick off someone. I'm hungry as hell."
"Do try to keep a low profile, sister... We have enough slayers and hunters after us."
"I will..I will..."
Zapook was already relaxing on the front step with a cup of coffee as a nearby bush rustled. Wolven was just stepping out of the house as he turned and watched the moving leaves with Zapook. A little squirrel hopped out of the bushes, slowly making it's way up to Zapook and Wolven. Smiling as Wolven stared in amazement, Zapook reached out, offering a hand to the small creature. Just as it was sniffing at Zapooks slender fingers, a larger rodent dashed out of the same bush, mauling the squirrel and leaving it in a shred of flesh and fur in a matter of seconds, then stared up at Zapook. It was a rabbit, with fur colored an bright green, similar to Zapook's hair. The rabbit let out a low, disturbing hiss, causing Zapook to back away and Wolven to nearly tear up as he stood with his back arched. In the blink of an eye, the rabbit darted toward Zapook, and dived between her legs, chasing Wolven into the house. Wolven screamed at the top of his lungs for Zee, who joined in the noise with her own roaring, followed by a few crashes, and Tina's scolding as the commotion woke everyone else in the house. Zapook sat back down, looking at the remains of the squirrel as she sipped at her coffee.
"Nothing normal ever happens around here..."
After the noise died down, Tina, Zapook, Ekone and Aussa, watched from the door way as Zee held down a snarling green, red-eyed rabbit. Wolven Cowered in the corner, with the small yellow chick petting his back.
"WHO LET A FREAKIN GRUNNY IN HERE!?"
"Ah..." Zapook raised her hand, "That would be me...though I didn't mean to. He sorta chased Wolven in here."
"Well...now we have to get this thing out."
Zapook drew near, still holding her cup of coffee as she leaned down toward the bunny. "It's kinda cute. Been awhile since I seen one of these little guys. Must've been out here all this time since the outbreak last October."
The grunny growled and broke free of Zee's grip, startling Zapook into spilling her coffee, as it took off towards Wolven. Wolven hugged Fluffles, bawling as the grunny zigzagged toward him. Zee scrambled after the rabbit, though it proved to be too elusive for her.
Zapook cussed to herself as threw her cup down to the floor, "Damnit! Perfectly good coffee gone to waste! I wish that thing would SIT STILL!"
As her voice echoed through the house, the Grunny skid to a stop inches before Wolven, and darted back over to Zapook. It slowed down, and sat in front of Zapook, looking up at her as if it were nothing more then a docile bunny.
"What happened? Is Wolven ok?"
"...I think ...It's listening to Pookie."
"Me!? Why me!? I didn't do anything but yelled stand still!"
"Evidently it likes you..."
Zapook stared down at the bunny and beckoned it with one finger. "Fine. We'll see how well it listens."
The grunny hops to Zapooks feet and stares up at her.
"Lie down."
The grunny lays on it's side, still looking up at Zapook.
"Ok....Now...up. "
The grunny stands on it's hind legs, it's nose twitching some.
"Ok...hehe..speak!"
The grunny lets out a loud, annoying yell, then goes back into a sitting position.
"Well...That made me wanna rip my ears off...."
"Really? Made me wanna give it a plunger." Zapook leaned down and picked up the bunny, cradling it in her arms like an infant. "It's so cute....I'm keeping it!"
Tina waved her hands from the doorway, "Oh no no no! There will be no rabid creatures in this house!"
"Why not? You let Zee stay here!" Zapook whines, pointing over at Zee.
Zee frowns and folds her arms, "...That's messed up."
Tina sighs, "Well...Keep it in your room until you are one hundred percent sure that you have it under control!"
"Alright!"
"What are you going to name it?"
"Hmmm....I'm gonna call it Boem."
"What kinda name is that!?"
"The kind that belongs to a pet you aren't allowed to mess with. Seriously, Zee, no eating it!"
"Dude...even I wouldn't eat a grunny. I know better."
Tina sighs in relief and walks off, "I...really need a nap."
"Welcome to the family little Boem!" Zapook smiles as she pokes the grunny's stomach.
Zee looks down at Boem the grunny, then up at Zapook. Smiling, she says, "You know Zapook, red eyes, green hair...it looks just like you. " mrgreen
