The Other Realm

“Hey Raven, Leo is over there, let’s go say hi” Seria said grabbing Raven’s arm and pulling her away.
“Umm… no thanks” Raven protested pulling away from Seria’s tug.
“Why not, he doesn’t bite?” Seria asked.
“I, unlike you, don’t have a crush on him” Raven answered.
“You know, you are one of the only people who doesn’t like Leo” Seria brought forth.
“I know, anyway I have to get to class” Raven assured, walking away.
“Okay, well see you at lunch” Seria said running toward Leo.


When they met for lunch and all three sat down Seria blurted out “Raven doesn’t crush on Leo, May.”
“Really” May gasped.
“Really” Raven admitted.
“Why not he is totally cute” Seria began. “You to would be perfect for each other, if I wasn’t here” she finished.
“I just like someone else” Raven confessed.
“Really who” May excitedly asked.
“I am not telling” Raven answered sticking a piece of sushi in her mouth.
“Come on, do tell” Seria said pulling out the rice from her lunch box.
“No, I know you guys, you would tell him when I’m not looking” Raven said pulling out her chopsticks and eating the rice from her box lunch.
“You’re right, we would do just that, but how did you know. We have never done that before” May admitted.
“So now you understand why I won’t tell you, so you can stop asking” Raven explained finishing her lunch.
“Come on let’s go outside” May said.
“Okay, I can practice my blessings” Raven said glad that their conversation was over and she could practice her spells and blessings.
“Are you coming Seria” May said getting up and heading toward the door.
“Ya” Seria said running after them.


When they all were on the field and ready to practice a loud noise came roaring toward them and then a flash of light, then suddenly a voice out of nowhere. “Sorry I didn’t think anyone was around here so I thought that it would be safe to use thunder” the strange voice said coming out of the smoke. “My name is Seth, and you are.”
“I’m Raven,” She said bowing with her waist length black hair flowing beside her. Her thin body looked a little shook up from the noice. “This is Seria” Raven introduced her by pointing to her friend. “This is May” She finished by pointing at May.
“It is nice to meet you,” all three girls said at once.
“Sorry for almost hitting you, Raven” Seth apologized. “But what were you doing out here anyway.”
“Well I came out to practice my magic too” Raven said making a swirl of colors go around her, for any goddess of her level would know what blessing she was doing. “There you magic power has gone up, just don’t hit me okay”.
Seth laughed at the idea of hitting her “you don’t have to worry about that” Seth finished. “And what are your plans” He said looking at the other two girls.
“Well I came out to practice my flying” May said moving her angel wings.
“Me, I came out to practice my broom flying” Seria said pulling her broom out of nowhere.
“That’s great” Seth said. “What other tricks do you know Raven.”
“She knows many” Seria answered for her.
“Yes I do, do you want to see them?” Raven asked.
“Well we are going to practice our flying now” May said taking off at the same time as Seria.


When they were out of ear shot of Seth and Raven, May said to Seria “do you think that Seth likes Raven”
“Sure do, why?” Seria asked looking down at Raven doing one of her blessing spells.
“Well do you think he will hate her when he finds out that she is not just a goddess but is a demon goddess” May asked.
“What are you talking about?” Seria asked
“Her spells, sometimes, they aren’t like the others, they are dark and out of place” May suggested looking sadly down at Raven.
“I haven’t seen her do anything like that,” Seria argued.
“It only happens when she is upset or angry, sometimes even worried” May explained. “There are few demon goddesses like her, they were all murdered, or so they thought they were all gone, they thought all the demon goddess’s could only bring was horrible things to the world so they murdered them with their cold hearts” May told the whole story to Seria. “Seeing we are her friends she would never harm us, only her enemies.”
“Why don’t you tell her?” Seria asked.
“She might not know what to do, where to go, or who to trust” May finished, and they practiced their flying.


“Wow, where did you learn those tricks?” Seth asked, but didn’t expect an answer.
“How about you, what spells do you know?” Raven asked.
“Well you already know one” Seth laughed. “This is my favorite spell… back up” he said waiting for her to go back, “shadow ball.”
“Here this will make it look great… angelic shower,” Raven said watching the explosion of beauty.
“Wow how did you know how that would look… it looks great by the way” Seth exclaimed sitting on the ground and watching how the colours collided together.
“Don’t know it just came to me” Raven shrugged.
“How long does it last?” Seth questioned.
“No clue, but what does it matter” Raven said lying down in the grass.
“Aaahhhhhh” Seria yelled as she crashed to the ground.
“Seria…” Raven screamed, getting up and running toward her friend that was lying on the ground. “Mend” Raven said, quickly running her hand over her friend’s injury. “Are you okay?”
All Seria could do to make Raven feel better was laugh and say “never been better.”
May, who had flow down as fast as she could, started to giggle and say “next time you won’t try to do a flip with your broom, eh.”
All of them started to laugh until the bell rang to go home. Then Raven said bye to Seth and said to Seria “I’m not flying with you today.”
“I’m not flying either” Seria laughed at the idea. “Plus my house isn’t too far.”
“I love this place, one class and rest of the day is ours to practice our skills” Raven babbled.
“Yay that magic trick you did with the shadow ball and angelic shower was beautiful” May exclaimed.
“Thanks” Raven said.
“By the way, you and that Seth guy make a cute and perfect couple” Seria laughed.
“What are you talking about?” Raven asked.
“Do I need to spell it out for you!” Seria chuckled.
“Obviously” Raven pointed out.
“Both of you use magic, both of you would never hurt each other, and last that I have seen so far, neither of you show emotion for people… except when they are hurt” Seria put a top on the whole thing.
“She, for once, is right” May agreed
“Anyway, I’m home see you tomorrow” Raven waved good-bye and went into her house.


“When do you think we should tell her that she is a you know what?” Seria tried find out when to break the news.
“If we are lucky we won’t have to,” May answered turning slightly, but still walking.
“How?” Seria asked.
“Either her parents tell her, or she finds out herself” May responded.
“Do you think we should tell her?” Seria questioned.
“I… I don’t know yet” May brought forth “I haven’t decided.”



The day later when Seria was flying overhead and May also flying above Raven’s head yelling down to her “It’s beautiful up here” and “it doesn’t look like it will rain today.”
When ever they would say something Raven would yell up “that’s good.”
Finally when they came down from flying the bell rang to go in for class when Seria ran ahead toward Leo as normal but this time you could hear them talking, Leo asked at first “who are you?”
Then Seria said “oh… me… I’m Seria.”
“That is a beautiful name,” Leo said in a gentleman’s tone taking her hand and walking away.
“Umm… should we go after her,” Raven asked.
“Na, let her go, this is what she wants you know” May answered.
“Okay, we will just see her later at lunch anyway” Raven said walking toward her class.
“What do we have today during class?” May questioned.
“Um… today… oh… we learn about pixies” Raven responded.
“That sounds great” May exclaimed walking into class.



Raven and May walked out of class talking. Then Raven changed the subject by asking, “Do you think that Seria had a good time?”
“Ya, but just in case something happened we will ask her about it at lunch. So let’s get there fast okay,” May answered running toward the lunchroom.
They found Seria in there sitting at the usual table eating her usual lunch so Raven quickly questioned what had happened.
“Well we talked and we shared stories that is about it” Seria said finishing her lunch off.
“Well if you give us three minutes then we can head outside” May and Raven said at the same time. They started to stuff their faces with food.


“Okay I’m ready to go out” Raven said standing up.
“Me too” May said getting up and toward the door.
“Hey Raven… May, Seria… Seria are you okay from that fall yesterday,” Seth said running up to them.
“Hey Seth” Raven greeted.
“Thank you, yes I am okay,” Seria politely said pulling her broom out of nowhere. “I going to go practice my flying… you coming May.”
“Yes, but no flips okay” May said fluttering her wings a bit.
“Fine, fine” Seria said taking off.
“Have you learned any new tricks lately Raven” Seth asked looking at her quizzically.
“Yes I have this one is called Planet” Raven said then with a movement of her hand a stream of colors came down and you could see a few dots which represents the planets in the solar system.
“Wow that looks great” Seth exclaimed.
“Help” Seria’s voice left as soon as it came.
“Force Field” Raven and Seth said at the same time stopping Seria’s fall.
“How did you use force field?” Seth asked.
“I… I don’t know I just knew I need to do something” Raven explained.
May was dashing down again to see if Seria was all right “I told you not to do any tricks near clouds.”
Everyone stared to laugh at this and then Raven asked, “Are you okay”
“If it weren’t for you two, I might have really gotten hurt,” Seria said gratefully.
“No problem, but I have no clue how I did force field” Raven confessed.
“You’ll know soon” May said getting off the ground and helping Seria up.
“Well it is time to go home now,” Raven said saying good-bye to Seth and walking away as the bell rang.
Seria and May said, “You know Raven that Seth guy really likes you.”
“Do you really think so?” Raven asked blushing.
“Definitely,” both girls responded at once.
“… I don’t think so,” Raven protested.
“Fine tomorrow look at him and how he looks at you” May argued.
“Tomorrow ask Leo how he feels about you” Raven persuaded.
“Fine, only if you ask Seth how he feels about you… and if you don’t I will. You know, when your not looking” Seria laughed.
“Well see you later” Raven waved walking into her house.



“She still doesn’t know does she?” Seria asked.
“No… neither does Seth… do you think it should be that way?” May questioned back.
“No” Seria answered.


The next day came rolling in fast and in the morning Seria flew down early only to remind Raven of their deal when the bell rang Seria flew into the school like an arrow to meet Leo who was waiting for her then all you could hear from Seria’s mouth was “do you like me as a friend or more than a friend.”
“Hmm… just a friend… for now anyway” Leo’s response was.
Seria came running back to Raven and May and said “HA! Now you have to ask Seth the same thing… if you don’t I will.”
“Fine… you do it” Raven said blushing.
“Ha… see you at lunch” Seria ended running into the classroom.



Class came and went, when the bell rang for lunch Raven could barely move. She got up slowly and walked into the lunchroom. “So…”
“When we go outside I will ask him,” Seria teased.
They gobbled down their lunches and headed out side. Then his voice came “hey May, Seria, where is Raven.”
“Hey Seth… she will be out in a second… do you like Raven as a friend or more than a friend?” Seria quickly questioned.
“… Why do you want to know?” Seth questioned back.
“Because I’m her best friend and it is in my good nature to know these things” Seria affirmed.
“Maybe I rather tell Raven instead of you” Seth protested.
“Then tell her when she comes out… and here she comes,” Seria said turning around to see Raven walking toward them. As soon as Raven got near them Seria said, “Seth wants to tell you how he feels a…”
“Silence” Seth said using a spell to make Seria stop talking.
“Mmmm…” Seria tried to say something but you couldn’t hear a word she spoke.
Seth’s face was pure red with anger and confusion, he hadn’t used a silencing spell since he was 6. He felt like tuning around an walking away but then Raven started yelling “See what you do you make people feel bad… you deserved that. Now if you shake you head yes I will let you out of that spell, but you have to apologize”
Seria shock her head and Raven let her talk again “Sorry” Seria apologized. “I really shouldn’t have been so mean even if you did feel like kissing Raven” Seria laughed pulling her broom out of nowhere and taking off.
“Sorry, Seria is just like that she can’t hold her tongue”
“Ya sorry it was all our idea not Raven’s” May apologized taking of into the air.


“You know Seria, that was a stupid thing to do” May said to Seria.
“I know but I was hoping that he would kiss her or at least to admit he likes Raven more than a friend” Seria said sadly.
“She doesn’t see how much he likes her… or she doesn’t want to accept it” May agreed looking down on Raven who was talking to Seth.
“Well what are we supposed to do, we tried telling her, we tried to get him to admit it, they both are to stubborn to admit they like each other.


“I really am sorry for the trouble that Seria and May caused for you… please don’t have grief” Raven apologized again.
“By saying that you are only putting more grief on yourself. Please stop, I’m fine” Seth responded.
“Okay” she whispered.
“Why did your friends ask what I thought of you anyway?” Seth questioned.
“Well seeing their my friends they want to protect me from getting hurt… so they wanted to see how you feel about me… to protect me” Raven answered.
“Oh… that makes sense. Do you want to know how I feel about you?” Seth questioned.
“… I really don’t know what I want to hear anymore,” Raven said looking down at the ground.
“Okay” Seth reacted to her answer.
“Good-bye” Raven said 5 minutes before the bell rang and she walked away.


When the two came down flying they said to Raven “That boy really has feelings for you… but you just won’t except it will you.”
“I have no clue what you are talking about, he doesn’t like me for anything more than a friend” Raven lied.
“Yes he does and you know it” May pointed out. “And you like him back.”
“… Why would you say that” Raven hesitated.
“So your saying we can just not see him and you would be perfectly fine with that,” Seria teased.
When there was no answer from Raven, they started to laugh at her for acting the way she was.
“So you do like him,” May said with joy.
“I never said that, nor did I say that I don’t want to see him” Raven responded. “Well see you” Raven said waving good-bye to them a little upset.


“How are we going to get her to tell Seth how she feels about him?” Seria inquired.
For a minute it was silent then May replied “I have no idea they are both ‘let no one close to them, to understand them’.”
“You have a point,” Seria agreed.
“We may never get them to enlighten each other on their feelings” May said finishing the conversation.



When they went back to school the next day the bell had already rung and they were running into the building, quickly opening their lockers and pulling out their books. They got to class almost at the same time as all the late students. “Why are you late” the teacher scolded not expecting an answer.
Everyone sat down and paid attention to the teacher until the bell rang and everyone ran out the door.



“Hey, Raven” Seria greeted, sitting down at the table.
“Oh, hey Seria didn’t see you there” Raven said in a surprised tone.
They ate quickly and when they were finished they went outside. “Hey Raven… Seria, May, how is your flying going Seria?” Seth asked.
“Better… I guess” Seria answered.
“Mine too” May responded.
“So no falling today” Seth assured.
“I can’t keep that promise,” Seria laughed.
