I read a bit of the book 'Songs of The Humpback Whales' by Jodi Picoult. I didn't get the chance to finish it but it wasn't one of my favourites. Nevertheless, Jodi has consistently dealt with issues in society and in this novel it is none the less. She dealt with relationships: a marriage in shambles, an affair between an older woman and younger man and an affair between a teenage girl and an older man(ten years difference). It is interesting how she portrayed these relationships and captured brilliantly the emotions. She took age which is a major issue and combined it to these relationships along with domestic violence, and coping with growing up and death.
It is worth a read for these issues---if not for anything else.
