well i'm gonna rant about one of my fave games ^_^ why?

BECAUSE I WANT TO DAMNIT!!!

that and i am excited to be going to college ^_^

Now to start I will be explaneing a few things about all 5 games and try not to be spoilerish ^_^.

so let us start ^^

Bof 1
This game starts out with Ryu wakeing up to his village being attacked by the Dark dragons.

Over 1000 years ago the goddess Tyr (Maria in the japanese release) started granting wishes to thoughs who sought her power eventually splitting the once Powerful Dragon clan into two sub clans the Light and Dark dragons.

Ledgend stated that a Dragon clansman and his companions fought and sealed Tyr with 6 goddess Keys and scattered them all over the land.

Back in the doomed Village Sara, Ryu's sister, decides to turn the people to stone and goes out to face the Dark dragons General Jade in a one on one battle.

Dureing this game Ryu will meet up with 7 other companions Plus three -Guest- Characters (Dureing the windia storyline three soldiers join up two die) These guests do not gain levels nor do they cast spells but you can edit their equipment for some strange reason.

Ryu's Dragon abilities are learned by passing tests at dragon shrines some require you to have peices of the dragon equipment equipped and then you must fight a monster in a one on one battle to gain your abilities.

Ryu's Dragon abilities have their own attack and def calculations, Immunity to status ailments but also lower Ryu's resistance to death spells. There is also no drawback to these spells (meaning with Angi you can sit there and deal 999 damage and the only ways you will revert is by looseing all your hp or acctually slecting the revert command)

The other characters are well useful in some ways other times not so....some are very useful others are only useful for the Angi and Karns Morphing abilities.

Nina is useful because she learns all the assist and healing spells in the game
Bleu is useful because she learns all the attack spells and gains levels fast
Ryu is useful for his dragon spells
Karn is useful because he morphs into upgraded varients of Ox, Gobi, and Bo

Ox is useless because hes slow and not as strong as you would expect
Bo is useless because his magic def and hp sucks and takes a while to gain
Gobi is only good when underwater
Mogu: has low hp and takes a long time to gain ANY stats

Its still a good game though and characters who are in the reserve rank do gain EXP just not as much as the guys in the battle rank. and if characters are fused they gain even less exp.

all in all the story and game itself is fun to play and watch and with 2 possable endings you cannot go wrong

BOF2:
A demon left behind by the battle with Maria has been growing under the earth....
At the same time a Religion has been created and spread across the land to feed this demon the power it needs to awaken.

In the small town of Gate a giant dragon sleeps on the mountains protecting the gates to the underworld keeping the demons at bay.

Ryu is a child liveing at Gate and is sent by his father Gander to look for his baby sister Yua.

After rescueing Yua from a monster Ryu returns home and finds that no one in the village remembers him and his father replaced by a man named Hulk.

That night he meets a boy named Bow and the two leave the village to go steal more valueable things.....Untill they meet up with a demon in the caves near Gate.....

Breath of fire 2 has a bigger world and more dverse characters in fact other than ryu SEVERAL have their own one on one battles with tough bosses and the new Village creation and Shaman systems are a great way of powering up your weaker characters.

Now you also have 9 playable characters these characters are:

Ryu: the half dragon clansman
Katt: the warren
Bow: the grassrunner (or doggy)
Rand: The crust clansman
Stean: the Highfort Commander
Nina: the exiled princess of windia
Jean: Prince of Simafort
Spar: The grassman
and her return to the game Bleu the sorceress who at lv 99 has maxed out stats

Ryu also gained his dragon spells at different parts of the game and each does damage based on his ap value when at max AP his attacks will deal massive damage than if his ap was 24/89 even an ap value of 88/89 can reduce damage dramaticly.

this game also now has 3 possable endings but i wont spoil that for you ^_~

Overall this game was well done better than its first game and with the shaman system even characters as weak as Jean can become powerhouses and Katt can now cast her magic without haveing to recrute Yozo or wait till shes at lv 50+

Overall this game is well done and dispite the constant jumping into toilets is fun to play.

BOF 3
Several years have passed since the battle with Tyr and Crysm power has been discovered to be a sugnifficant fuel sorce.

Gary and Mogu have dinamited a large chunk of Crysm and have in turn released a baby dragon.

After being captured and sent away The dragon falls off the train and lands in the woods.

Rei an orphaned Theif is out hunting when he finds a young boy being attacked by Wolves.

He takes the young boy in and thus starts Ryu's adventures with his friends Rei and Teepo.

Breath of Fire 3 may have fewer characters (7 in total 3, 4 of witch grow up and one becomes an enemy) Ryu's dragon system is alot different because now you have to splice dragon Genes found across the world in many different combinations that result in whelps, dragons or hybrids. also many combonations result in evolved dragon forms ex:

Dragon-->Trygon
Warrior-->Mymaridon
Behemouth---> Mammoth
Whelp---> Wildfire

I wont place the hybrids here because theres about 6 different hybrid dragons -_-.

But as you can see there are MANY dragon combos and each one has an AP cost for every round you stay transformed.

Also new to the game is the Master system that allows characters to aprentice under a master who gives the pupal new stat bonus' when they gain levels and gives them new skills when they reach new levels.

Also the stats are done alot better now to complent the master system

A fun game and pretty funny game to play specially when Nina runs away from home a few times XD

BOF4:

The east and west sides have finally stopped warring however on her goodwill mission to the west Princess Elana has gone missing.

Nina and Crey decided to head out to try and find her. on their way their sand boat is attacked by the Sand dragon and crashes.

Nina heads out and on her way to town she finds a dragon and a man in a giant crator.

Ryu has no memory of his past nor does he know who or WHAT he is.

theres not much i can say but this is the ONLY breath of fire game that abandons its 999 hp limit and allows you to go passed 1000 hp.

However the game is equally easy because oof the massive starting hp and hp bonus' characters gain.
Ryu maybe lv1 but has 140 hp to start with and low ap.

Fortunatly the master system returns and this should help also now there is the combo system where spells effects are further gained by how many hits were done prior.

example: Lets say you have Ryu attack an enemy with Shadow walk with a 2 hit sword he attacks twice then crey follows up with a double strike if suiccessful crey will deal damage 4 times rather than the normal 2 times.

some spells also combo into newer spells water + wind =lightning ect

also its fun when one of the playable characters is the last boss of the game XD

BOF Dragon Quarter

Ryu is a Ranger working in lowsector with the other low D civilians one day Ryu and his partner Bosch are sent to escort an experament to the upper level.

On the way a member of trinity attacks and Ryu and the cargo are beleaved to have been lost.

This game is a first, It combines tactical rpg and a new D-counter system Ryu starts of with a D-ratio of 1/8564 but can go up the more you beat the game up to 1/1

Ryu also has the d-counter and when it gets to 100.00% its game over and this is the toughest game yet.

My advice
