The golden orb's bright rays strike my face.
Slowly, my eyes flicker open.
Another long day...
After much hesitation, I finally decide to get up.
The winter cold nips my skin.
I stretch my arms and try to reach for the ceiling.
I wipe the remnants of the Sand Man's visit off my sleepy eyes.

I let out a sigh as I exit my sanctuary.
What to do, what to do...
Well, there are dishes in the sink awaiting to be cleansed of the horrid feel of last night's left-overs.
Then, there's laundry that needs to be done.
And there's that pile of school work; that eye sore that most definitely needs to be completed before the school bells begin ringing yet again.

I pout at the idea of all the chores that need to be accomplished.
Maybe some fresh air will do me some good...
Once out in the patio, I plop down on a seat.
I close my eyes and lean my head back.
My idle mind begins wandering about.

The soft sound of the clinging chimes.
The fresh smell of morning dew.
The beautiful song of care-free birds.
The tickle of the morning breeze.

I open my eyes.
What a wonderful feeling...
Rejuvenated, I turn my back on the little paradise nature had to offer me.
Back into the suffocating world of chores and school work.
But the sooner I get off my lazy bum, the faster I will be able to return to that beautiful sight outside my door...
