Trek's Musings about the world.
I did an analasys several journal entries ago to see if my purchase of my Performance Plus rod was worth it. Since then, I've been educated about bait decay, which makes that entry a moot point for the most part. Two F buckets at A quality and three F buckets at D quality is definitely going to give a nice return, certainly enough to make up the cost of the rod in a fairly short time span. So I guess the new question is if it's worth fishing beyond five buckets a day (after bait decay has set its course) with D quality bait (so I don't lose rares). I decided to find out.

After fishing 2 F buckets at A quality, and 3 F buckets at D quality, I fished ten D buckets at D quality. Here's what I caught for those ten buckets:

38 White Pebbo Feeders - 13g - 494g
22 Brown Pebbo Feeders - 14g - 308g
35 Black Pebbo Feeders - 15g - 525g

7 Pyrite Biters - 30g - 210g
2 Bluestone Biters - 35g - 70g
7 Black Rocque Biters - 30g - 210g

2 Slate Boldurs - 45g - 90g
1 Sand Boldur - 100g - 100g
1 Stone Boldur - 40g - 40g

29 Cans - 8g - 232g
13 Boots - 3g - 39g
23 Tires - 3g - 69g

total value - 2329 gold
total cost of bait - 1000 gold
total profit - 1329 gold

Note that I'm going by MP prices now, not store prices. They're a few days old, so forgive me if they're a little off.

So I made a profit of a little over 1.3k, or 134 gold per bucket. I didn't time how long these ten buckets took, but as long as I don't loose too many Boldurs, or catch too much trash, I think it's a good enough return to make fishing with D quality bait worthwhile.

Gaia Fishing is surprisingly addictive. I'm almost playing it as much as SSBM now. But that's only because I keep screwing up my All-Star runs. burning_eyes
